To recycle an item in ARC Raiders, open your inventory, select the item, and choose Recycle from its item menu. During a raid, the action may be labeled Salvage. Check the displayed materials and the item’s uses before confirming: the item is consumed and replaced by the listed components.
How to recycle an item
- Open your inventory and select the item you want to break down.
- Open the item menu. Embark’s Help Center describes using the item details or right-click option. A Shacknews walkthrough dated October 31, 2025 specifies right-click on keyboard, or Triangle on PS5 and Y on Xbox.
- Choose the action. Select Recycle in the inventory menu. During a raid, the cited walkthrough says the label is Salvage.
- Review the preview of the materials you will receive, then confirm only if you are willing to lose the original item.
Embark Studios’ Help Center describes the feature this way: “Field Recycling lets you break down items instantly.” The page was last updated October 27, 2025. Check the live interface if labels or controls differ, since the cited sources do not identify a specific game build.
Should you recycle, keep, or sell it?
Use the preview alongside the item description; being marked recyclable does not mean an item is useless intact. Compare its material yield, any current quest, workshop, project, or crafting use, and whether selling it better serves your needs.
- Inspect the item and preview. Confirm what materials the action returns.
- Check what the intact item is for. Look for relevant quests, workshop upgrades, projects, or crafting requirements, and consider your tracked needs.
- Choose based on your goal. Keep an item you need intact; recycle it when you need its materials. If neither applies, compare the sale value with the usefulness of the materials.
- Confirm only when ready. Recycling consumes the original item; after confirmation, only the listed components remain.
For example, the fan database ARC Scrappy lists Mechanical Components as a crafting material and workshop-upgrade item, marks them “Not safe to recycle Global,” and gives a conversion of three Metal Parts and two Rubber Parts. That is one item’s listed data, not a universal yield; requirements can depend on player progress. Verify the item’s current description and your needs in-game.

What to check before confirming
- Material yield: Use the in-game preview rather than assuming all items break down into the same components.
- Intact-item uses: An item may be needed for a quest, upgrade, project, or crafting recipe.
- Sale value: Materials are only more useful than coins if they help with your current goals.
- Irreversibility: The source item is consumed when you confirm the action.
