Redeem the 25-character code against the Microsoft account that should own Forza Horizon 6, then install the game from your Xbox console, Microsoft Store on Windows, or the Xbox PC app. The fastest route is redeem.microsoft.com; console and Windows users can also redeem directly in their storefront.
Account choice is permanent. Xbox warns: “Just make sure you’re signed in to the correct Microsoft account before you redeem your code because you won’t be able to transfer it.”

What an Xbox code gives you
An Xbox code adds the product associated with it to one Microsoft account. Once redemption succeeds, the game or add-on belongs to that account and can be installed on supported Xbox and Windows devices signed in with the same account. Redemption is separate from installation: entering the code claims the license, while the Store or Xbox app downloads the game.

Forza Horizon 6 is available on Xbox Series X|S and on PC through the Xbox app and Steam, according to Playground Games’ May 19, 2026 availability announcement. A code identified as an Xbox or Microsoft code should be redeemed through the Microsoft/Xbox routes below. If a purchase is specifically labeled as a Steam product, use the Steam redemption and installation process attached to that product instead; a Microsoft redemption does not move ownership between storefronts.

The mobile Xbox app cannot currently redeem codes. Use the web page, an Xbox console, Microsoft Store on Windows, or the Xbox PC app.
Check these details before entering the code
- Use the intended Microsoft account. Check the gamerpic, email address, or profile name before you submit the code. Xbox says a redeemed code cannot be transferred to another account.
- Confirm the platform label. The instructions in this article cover Microsoft/Xbox codes. A Steam-only key follows Steam’s own redemption path.
- Keep the complete 25-character code available. Enter every character exactly as shown. Do not substitute a different account because the first successful redemption is final.
- Choose a supported redemption surface. The web page works from a browser; the console Store, Microsoft Store for Windows, and Xbox PC app each have their own Redeem command.
Redeem online at redeem.microsoft.com
This is the most direct method when you have a phone or computer browser available.
- Open redeem.microsoft.com.
- Sign in with the Microsoft account that should own Forza Horizon 6.
- Enter the 25-character code in the redemption field.
- Select Next.
- Review the product and account shown on screen, then follow the prompts to confirm redemption.
After confirmation, open your Xbox or Microsoft game library on the device where you want to play. The game should be listed under the same account. Select the Forza Horizon 6 listing and choose Install.

- Press the Xbox button to open the guide.
- Select Store.
- Press the View button to open the Store side menu.
- Choose Redeem.
- Enter the 25-character code.
- Select Next, check the account and product details, and follow the prompts.
- When redemption finishes, open your library or search the Store listing for Forza Horizon 6.
- Select Install.
Xbox’s official instruction is to “Install the game from your console or PC as applicable.” The console Store and the library are therefore the two places to look immediately after a successful redemption.
If you are already on the Store page
Do not buy the game again. First verify that the console is signed in with the Microsoft account used for redemption, then open the library or the game’s Store page and look for Install rather than a purchase button. A purchase prompt usually means the console is using a different account or the code did not complete successfully.
Redeem through Microsoft Store on Windows
This route is useful when you want to claim the code and install from Microsoft’s Windows storefront.
- Press Start, search for Microsoft Store, and open it.
- Select the account icon in the top-right corner.
- Choose Redeem code or gift cards.
- Enter the 25-character code.
- Select Next and complete the confirmation prompts.
- Open the Microsoft Store library, find Forza Horizon 6, and select Install.
Keep the Microsoft Store account consistent from redemption through installation. If Windows Store is showing another profile, switch to the account that received the code before searching the library.

Redeem in the Xbox PC app
The Xbox app on Windows has its own redemption control:
- Open the Xbox app on Windows.
- Select your gamerpic in the top-left corner.
- Open Settings.
- Under Redeem a code, select Redeem.
- Enter the 25-character code and select Next.
- Follow the prompts to finish claiming the product.
- Open the Xbox app library and select Install for Forza Horizon 6.
If the app and Microsoft Store are signed into different Microsoft accounts, the license can appear to be missing even though redemption succeeded. Compare the account profile in the Xbox app with the account used on the redemption page.
Install Forza Horizon 6 after redemption
On Xbox Series X|S
- Open My games & apps or the console library.
- Find Forza Horizon 6 under games owned by the signed-in account.
- Open the game page and choose Install.
- If you cannot find it in the library, search the Store for the exact title and check whether the action is Install.
The download is tied to the account that redeemed the code. Changing to another console profile does not transfer the license to that profile.

- Sign into the Xbox app with the Microsoft account that redeemed the code.
- Open the app library.
- Select Forza Horizon 6.
- Choose Install and follow the app’s installation prompts.
Forza Horizon 6 is also offered on Steam, but the Xbox-code process described here places the entitlement in the Microsoft/Xbox account ecosystem. Use the storefront named by your code or purchase when deciding where to install.

Edition and access differences
The official availability information lists Standard, Deluxe, Premium, and Premium Upgrade paths. The useful distinction is whether you are receiving the full game, whether you already have access through Game Pass, whether the package grants early access, and which premium extras are attached.

The availability announcement also lists a Car Pass containing 30 total cars and describes the game as having over 550 cars. Those figures describe the published Forza Horizon 6 offering, not the number of cars delivered by every individual edition or code.

Forza Horizon 6’s recorded launch date was May 19, 2026. Premium Edition early access began on May 15, 2026. These are launch-history dates; a code redeemed after launch normally leads to the current entitlement and installation flow rather than an early-access period.

Steam unlocked globally at 4:01 a.m. UTC. That difference matters only when you are checking a launch-time release schedule; it does not change where an Xbox code is redeemed.
Why a redeemed game may not appear
The wrong Microsoft account is active
This is the first check because redemption is account-bound. Compare the account shown in the browser, console profile, Microsoft Store, and Xbox app. If you redeemed on the wrong account, Xbox’s warning applies: the code cannot be transferred.
The code was not accepted as a 25-character code
Re-enter the complete 25-character sequence and use Next to see whether redemption actually completed. Do not treat a typed code that produced an error or was abandoned before confirmation as redeemed.
You are checking the wrong library
After a successful claim, check the Xbox or Microsoft library belonging to the same account. On Windows, compare both the Microsoft Store profile and Xbox app gamerpic. On console, check the library and the Store listing while signed into the redeeming profile.
You are using the mobile Xbox app
The mobile app cannot currently redeem codes. Return to redeem.microsoft.com, use an Xbox console, open Microsoft Store on Windows, or use the Xbox PC app.
An error code is displayed
Microsoft provides general redemption troubleshooting and Xbox error/status-code help, but there is no Forza Horizon 6-specific error-code matrix in the published instructions used here. Record the exact code, confirm the account and redemption surface, and use Microsoft’s current support guidance for that code rather than applying a game-specific fix that may not match the error.
Finding promotion-specific rewards
Some promotional rewards have separate eligibility rules and may not appear in the normal game library. Microsoft’s Forza Horizon 6 terms direct eligible PC buyers to Offers & credits on xbox.com/play. Eligible console buyers should open Store, select the profile icon, and choose Offers & credits.
Use the Microsoft account associated with the qualifying purchase or promotion when checking that area. A redeemed base-game code does not by itself prove eligibility for every separate promotion.
