Discount codes and vouchers use different PS5 flows

A 10-digit discount code is entered in the cart. The PS5 More > Redeem Code menu is for 12-digit PlayStation Store vouchers, which can provide content or wallet credit. A voucher is not a substitute for a discount code.

PlayStation says vouchers must match the account’s region, can be used once, and cannot be transferred between accounts. Some subscription vouchers require a valid payment method. These are voucher rules, not additional steps for redeeming a discount code. See PlayStation’s voucher instructions.

Check the code’s limits before buying

Discount codes cannot be applied to subscription services or pre-orders.
You cannot combine a discount code with another discount code in the same purchase.
A discount code can be used for only one purchase.

Those limits are listed by PlayStation Support. Eligibility may also depend on the code’s own terms, including country or user availability, age restrictions, and an expiration date. Sony’s US Terms of Service, dated March 2026, describes these general product-code terms: PlayStation Terms of Service (US). Check the terms supplied with your particular code; not every code works for every item or account.

If PS5 rejects the discount code

Re-enter the 10 digits carefully and check the code’s supplied terms for eligibility and an expiration date.
Check PlayStation Network status. PlayStation’s general voucher troubleshooting guidance recommends checking network status.
If there is no network problem, sign out of your account and sign back in to refresh it, as the same general guidance suggests.

The troubleshooting page covers vouchers generally, so its advice is not a complete guide to every discount-code error.
