First, check which platform or storefront issued your code and which account should receive it. A PlayStation voucher, an Xbox download code, a Steam key, and an Epic Games code use different redemption systems; do not assume a code works on another platform. Redemption, downloading, and seeing an item in a game are separate steps: some content needs to be installed, while certain digital rewards may appear in-game without a separate download.
Before you redeem: identify the code and account
Look at the code card, email, retailer instructions, or publisher page for the named platform or store. Then sign in to the account that should own the content. A code may be accepted without downloading the add-on, and an installed add-on may still need the correct game or edition to access it.

- PlayStation: Redeem a PlayStation voucher through PlayStation Store. Standard digital content vouchers are 12 digits; 10-digit codes are discount codes and follow a different process.
- Xbox: Redeem an Xbox download code or token to the intended Microsoft account.
- PC: Use the client named for the code: Steam keys go through Steam, and Epic codes through Epic Games.
Platform support pages may call DLC an add-on, voucher, downloadable content, or digital code. Use the store named on the code rather than relying on the wording alone.

PlayStation Support documents online, console, and app redemption. The standard digital content voucher is 12 digits, can be used once, must match the account region, and cannot be transferred to another account. PlayStation states: “Voucher codes can only be used once.” See PlayStation’s voucher redemption instructions for current details.

On a PS5
- Open PlayStation Store.
- Press Triangle, then choose More > Redeem Code.
- Enter the code and choose Redeem.
- If a Download option appears, select it to install the content. You can also download it later.
On a PS4
- Open PlayStation Store.
- Go to the bottom of the sidebar and choose Redeem Codes.
- Enter the code, then continue and confirm.
- Select Download if it is offered, or return to the content later to download it.
Online or in the PlayStation App
On the web, open PlayStation Store, select your profile, choose Redeem Code, enter the code, and continue. In the PlayStation App, open the PS Store menu and choose the redemption option.
PlayStation vouchers can cover games and add-ons, in-game currency, consumables, skins, season passes, or wallet balance. Some in-game currency, consumables, and skins become available after redemption without a separate download, though some skins may require one.

Redeem an Xbox code
Microsoft’s redemption flow adds an Xbox download code or token to the Microsoft account you sign in with. Sign in to the account intended to own the content, enter or paste the code, and confirm. Availability through Microsoft Store online, Windows, or Xbox depends on the code and content. Follow Microsoft’s code redemption instructions for the account flow.

Redeem a Steam key on PC
- Open the Steam client and select Games > Activate a Product on Steam.
- Follow the prompts and enter the key when asked.
- After activation, find the game or add-on in your Steam Library and install it if needed.
The menu wording may appear as Activate a Product on Steam or Activate a product. The steps are described in WB Games’ code guide and Santa Monica Studio’s retailer-code guide. A purchase made directly through Steam does not require a separate code redemption.
Redeem an Epic Games code on PC
In the Epic Games client
- Sign in to the Epic Games account that should receive the content.
- Select your profile and choose Redeem Code.
- Enter the code and redeem it.
- Open the Epic Games client Library to install the game or content, if a download is needed.
In a browser
- Sign in to the intended Epic account.
- Open the account dropdown and select Redeem Code.
- Enter the code and redeem it, then use the Epic Games client to install the game if needed.
These retailer-code steps are documented by Santa Monica Studio. A direct Epic Games Store purchase does not require entering a retailer code.

If the code fails or the DLC is missing
The code is reported as invalid
- Check the code or retailer instructions for the exact platform and storefront. A code for one store is not automatically valid in another.
- For PlayStation, confirm that it is a 12-digit content voucher rather than a 10-digit discount code, that the account region matches the voucher, and that it has not already been used.
- Make sure you are signed in to the account intended to receive the content before redeeming.
The code redeemed, but the content is not visible
- Check the library and download queue in the same account and storefront used to redeem it. On Xbox, WB Games points to My Games and Apps > Queue; on PC, check the matching Steam or Epic Library.
- On PlayStation, restart the console, then sign out and back in to the account that redeemed the code. Check whether the add-on has a Download option.
- Some rewards may appear in-game rather than as a separate download. If the store shows the content as owned but it is still absent from the game, check that the correct game or edition is installed and consult that game’s publisher for title-specific entitlement help.
You want to use the code on another platform
Check the platform or store named on the code or retailer listing. The redemption instructions here are platform-specific and do not establish that a code can be moved or reused on another platform.
