You can also open Payments & Wallet > Order history, expand the transaction, and select Request a refund if that option appears. Check whether your purchase may qualify
EA’s refund policy covers eligible full EA game downloads for PC or Mac and participating third-party games purchased through the EA app or EA.com. A third-party game needs the applicable EA refund-policy designation at the time of purchase. Use the Refund Tool to check the specific transaction and submit a request.

EA’s policy lists these request windows. They are conditions to check, not a guarantee that every purchase qualifies:
- Game launched: request within 24 hours after the game is first launched.
- Game not launched: request within 14 days of purchase.
- Pre-order: request any time before release.
- Qualifying technical problems: if a new EA game was bought within the first 30 days after release and cannot be played because of technical problems within EA’s control, request within 72 hours after first launch. EA gives server issues and bugs as examples.
The title and edition, payment method, purchase route and local law may also affect the outcome.

Submit a refund request through EA
Use the Refund Tool
- Open EA’s Refund Tool and sign in to the EA Account used to buy the game.
- Find and select the game.
- Choose a reason for the request.
- Confirm the refund payment method shown.
- Select Confirm to submit the request.
Use Order history instead
- Sign in to your EA Account and open Payments & Wallet.
- Select Order history.
- Expand the game’s transaction.
- Under Status, select Request a refund if it is available, then follow the prompts.
EA says a submitted request’s status appears beside the game and that it sends a confirmation email.
Know which purchases EA can handle
The seller that processed the payment is the starting point. EA says it cannot process refunds for purchases made through another online platform or a physical retailer. If you bought the game through Steam, PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo, Epic, an Apple or Google app store, or a retailer such as Target, Best Buy or Walmart, contact that seller about its refund process.

EA’s policy also sets limits on what it covers:
- Separately purchased downloadable content and in-game currency are not refundable under the policy.
- Some editions that include virtual currency or content packs are excluded.
- For a bundle, the included games and content must be returned together.
- EA says the same game can be refunded only twice under this policy.
- Some payment methods are non-refundable, including certain carrier-billing and cash methods, prepaid or voucher cards, and third-party payment providers. Check the transaction and payment method in your EA Account.
Check your refund status or get help
Open Payments & Wallet > Order history to review the purchase and refund status. EA says the Refund Tool can show up to 30 days of refund history. Its Order history help page also describes checking the status of games bought through the EA app.
If the tool does not settle an eligibility question, contact EA support through EA Help. If you believe EA owes you a refund, EA advises contacting it before submitting a chargeback. EA says a chargeback outside its policy may lead it to lock or restrict the account or remove the charged-back content.

Cancel an EA app pre-order
For a pre-order bought through the EA app, EA’s pre-order instructions describe canceling it from Order history before release. If you pre-ordered from another retailer, contact that retailer instead.
How local consumer rights may affect a refund
EA says statutory rights may apply in addition to its refund policy and vary by jurisdiction. Its terms discuss withdrawal rights in some countries, where downloading or accessing digital content can affect those rights, and warranty rights that may provide remedies such as repair, replacement or a partial or full refund for faulty digital content. Which rights apply depends on your location and circumstances; check the terms for your country or contact a local consumer-protection authority.
