Which Fortnite purchases can you return?
Epic’s return-request options cover eligible Fortnite Item Shop purchases made with V-Bucks. They do not cover every transaction or reward in Fortnite. Check the purchase in your account and the current eligibility guidance before proceeding.
- Bundles must be returned as a whole.
- Epic lists passes and pass levels, premium reward tracks, gifted purchases, Level Up Quest Packs, Save the World loot llamas and event or weekly items among the exclusions.
- Battle Pass rewards earned through gameplay cannot be returned using Return Tickets or Cancel Purchase, according to Epic’s eligibility guidance.
- Purchases in developer-made islands do not use the Item Shop return options.
Choose the right return option

Epic says accounts start with three Return Tickets, can hold no more than three at once, and gain one ticket every 365 days while below that maximum. Support does not grant additional tickets. Special tokenless refunds may be available for specific items and circumstances, but Epic does not guarantee them for every request.
How to submit a Fortnite cosmetic return request
In Fortnite
- Open Fortnite and open the player menu.
- Choose Support and Refunds, then open Return or Cancel Purchase. Menu labels can change; follow the current in-game route described in Epic’s Fortnite support instructions.
- Select the purchase and check whether the game offers Cancel Purchase or a Return Ticket. The option shown depends on the item, purchase date, use status, and your ticket balance.
- Review the confirmation screen and the item being returned, then confirm only if you intend to proceed. A successful return removes the item and credits the V-Bucks; Epic says the action cannot be reversed.
Through the Fortnite Item Shop website
- Sign in to the Fortnite Item Shop using the account that made the purchase.
- Open Return and Cancel Purchases, then choose Show Purchases.
- Select the eligible item and follow the confirmation prompts. Epic describes this web route in its support article.
Why can’t you return a Fortnite cosmetic?
If you do not see a return option, the purchase may be outside the relevant time window, the item may have been used or equipped for Cancel Purchase, the item category may be excluded, or you may not have a Return Ticket available. The account interface determines whether the selected transaction is eligible.

If Fortnite reports that the request could not be processed and that your tickets and V-Bucks were unchanged, Epic says the selected item may be ineligible. Check the item category and the current list of eligibility exclusions.

Return Requests in Fortnite are not a universal refund route. For purchases made through a third-party platform, Epic directs players to the platform that processed the transaction. Other Epic purchase categories have separate refund instructions; start with Epic’s refund policy and the relevant platform’s process. Developer-made island purchases are also handled separately from Item Shop cosmetics.
