To repeat a video without restarting your YouTube live stream, add the local file to an OBS scene as a Media Source and enable Loop in its properties. When the file finishes, OBS plays it again; leave OBS streaming and do not end the YouTube event.
Loop one video in OBS
- In OBS, select the scene that should contain the video. In the Sources dock, click + and choose Media Source. OBS describes sources as items added to a scene, and Media Sources as the way to add audio and video files. OBS Sources Guide
- In the Media Source properties, choose the local video file you want to repeat.
- Enable Loop, then confirm the properties. OBS documents this setting as replaying the file after playback completes. OBS Media Sources
- Start your YouTube stream from OBS, or leave the existing stream running. When the source reaches the end of the file, it should play again; you do not need to stop or restart the encoder.
Keep the YouTube event live
The loop setting controls playback of the Media Source, not the YouTube live event. YouTube’s encoder instructions say, “To end the stream, stop sending content from your encoder.” For a scheduled stream, YouTube’s steps may also include selecting End Stream in Live Control Room. So if you want the live event to continue while the clip repeats, do not click Stop Streaming in OBS or End Stream in YouTube Live Control Room. YouTube: Create a YouTube live stream with an encoder
Repeat several videos with a playlist
For multiple local clips, add a VLC Video source instead of a single Media Source, add the files to its playlist and enable Loop Playlist. OBS documents that the playlist starts over after it runs out of media. VLC must be installed for the source to appear; if you use 64-bit OBS, install 64-bit VLC as well. OBS Media Sources

Check the loop before relying on it live
Preview the stream and listen to the audio before leaving the scene running. OBS’s documentation explains that Loop replays the file, but does not promise a gap-free or frame-perfect transition at the loop point.
