As of October 7, 2026, Rockstar has not confirmed a GTA VI-specific reporting process. Rockstar’s published reporting instructions apply to GTA Online, not GTA VI. The official GTA VI support page describes the game as a single-player experience scheduled for November 19, 2026, on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. If you encounter harmful content in GTA VI, check the game’s current support guidance and available menus rather than assuming GTA Online steps will work.
Is there a GTA 6 report button for political misinformation or harassment?
No GTA VI-specific reporting button or procedure is confirmed in Rockstar’s published guidance reviewed as of October 7, 2026. The available Rockstar reporting instructions cover GTA Online. The official GTA VI support page describes GTA VI as a single-player game due November 19, 2026, for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S; it does not set out a reporting route.
That distinction matters: GTA Online instructions should not be presented as confirmed GTA VI steps. Rockstar may publish new guidance or add options in the game, so check its GTA VI support information and the menus available in your version.
What kinds of conduct does Rockstar’s GTA Online guidance cover?
Rockstar’s published GTA Online guidance says players can report behavior or content they believe violates its Community Guidelines. Its listed areas include abusive communication, offensive player-created content, offensive online IDs, job descriptions or in-game text, and disruptive gameplay. The listed abuse categories include “Harassment or Bullying” and “Identity-Based Hate or Discrimination.” Voice chat and phone app chat are among the communication features addressed. The page was last updated December 5, 2025. These are GTA Online categories, not confirmed GTA VI categories.
#1 Best Overall
- This product contains a download code inside the box — no disc is included. Customer shipments will begin arriving November 12 for pre-load; game is playable starting November 19.
- Pre-order to receive the Vintage Vice City Pack.
- Grand Theft Auto VI is a single-player experience.
The reviewed list does not include a standalone “political misinformation” category. Rockstar has not established in the cited materials how it would classify political claims in GTA VI. If a political post or message also involves conduct such as harassment, threats, identity-based hate, or abusive communication, describe that conduct accurately and choose the closest category the relevant game or platform actually offers. Do not label a disputed claim as harassment unless the behavior supports that description.
How to report or block a player in GTA Online
The following are Rockstar’s documented GTA Online procedures, not verified GTA VI instructions. Menu labels and available options can vary by platform and game version.
Rank #2
Xbox: submit an in-game report
- Open the Pause menu.
- Select Online, then Players.
- Choose the player you want to report and select Report.
- If prompted, choose the reason or category that best matches the conduct, then submit the report.
These steps come from Rockstar’s GTA Online Xbox abuse guidance.
PC: block a player or use platform controls
Rockstar’s PC guidance points players to platform block and mute features for unwanted interactions and provides this Rockstar block route:
Rank #3
- Rule the city streets in a thrilling open-world crime adventure.
- Drive luxury cars, bikes, and police vehicles in epic missions.
- Fight gang wars, escape police chases, and dominate turf battles.
- Explore a massive urban map packed with action and secrets.
- Play offline anytime — no internet required for crime fun!
- Open the Pause menu and select Online, then Players.
- Select the player, then choose Show Profile.
- Open Player Actions and select Block.
For reporting, the PC page directs players to Rockstar’s GTA Online reporting guidance. Blocking is a way to limit contact; it is not the same as submitting a report.
What to do with content outside the game
If the post, stream, forum message, or chat is hosted by a social network or another service, use that service’s own reporting tools. Rockstar’s cited instructions concern GTA Online and do not establish that Rockstar handles reports about content on external services.
Rank #4
When preparing a platform report, preserve the original post and enough context to show what happened. Avoid reposting or amplifying a disputed claim while trying to report it. These are practical handling suggestions, not additional Rockstar rules.

For an immediate danger or threat to personal safety, contact local emergency services or law enforcement as appropriate. Rockstar’s PC and Xbox GTA Online abuse guidance specifically advises contacting local police if personal safety is threatened. Platform reporting can address account or content violations, but it is not a substitute for urgent help.

Voice moderation applies to GTA Online
Rockstar says GTA Online voice chat is monitored through Modulate for proactive moderation. It also says some audio chat may be securely recorded and retained for a limited period when needed for player safety, and that audio will not be sold or rented to third parties. Rockstar notes that moderation considers conversational and other contexts. This disclosure is specific to GTA Online; it does not confirm the same system for GTA VI. See Rockstar’s GTA Online voice chat guidance.
Company-wide report figures are not GTA VI response promises
Take-Two Interactive’s 2025 Transparency Report says reports within its scope were not processed solely by automated means and describes human moderator involvement. For its “Bullying, Threats, Harassment” category, the report recorded 1,135,444 player reports, 938,873 enforcement actions, and a 38.5-hour median action time. Those are report-period figures across the services covered by that report—not GTA VI-specific statistics, a guarantee that any individual report will result in action, or an expected response time for a player. See the 2025 Take-Two Interactive Transparency Report.
