Use DMZ’s in-game Report Player control when you suspect cheating or another unfair advantage. Activision’s currently published step-by-step instructions are written for Warzone rather than a dedicated DMZ page, so the menu names or locations may differ slightly in DMZ. The documented routes are the same places you should check: the scoreboard during a match, the lobby player list, and the Social menu.
A report is a request for Activision to review conduct, not a finding that the other player definitely cheated. Choose the closest truthful reason, submit it once, and do not expect a guaranteed penalty or an account-specific follow-up.

What counts as an unfair advantage?
Call of Duty’s Code of Conduct says that “The use of cheats, including third-party software, is unacceptable.” It also treats exploiting bugs or taking part in other activity that grants an unfair advantage as cheating.

Examples that fit the reporting purpose
- Using third-party software or other unauthorized tools to gain an advantage.
- Exploiting a game bug in a way that gives the player an advantage over others.
- Other clearly observed conduct that appears to create an unfair gameplay advantage.
The key issue is the advantage gained, not whether the behavior looked unusual in isolation. A player can make an unexpectedly accurate shot or seem to know your location without that being conclusive proof of prohibited software. Report the conduct that concerned you and let Activision assess it.

Report what you observed, not what you cannot establish
A suspicious death, an unusually accurate shot, or a player who knows your location is not automatically proof of cheating. Select the reason that most closely matches the conduct you actually observed. Use neutral, specific descriptions instead of presenting a suspicion as a confirmed finding. The report form lets you choose more than one reason when several listed categories genuinely apply.
Before opening the menu, make sure you can identify the player you mean to report. Note the relevant moment in the match, the action you saw, and the advantage it appeared to create. This keeps the report focused on behavior rather than on an argument, a disappointing result, or a guess about the player’s identity.
Report a suspected cheater while you are in a DMZ match
The following sequence comes from Activision Support’s “Reporting a Player in Call of Duty: Warzone,” updated July 10, 2025. It is the closest surfaced official procedure for DMZ; check for equivalent labels if your DMZ build presents a different menu.
- Open the scoreboard. Press View on Xbox, the Touchpad on PlayStation, or Tab on PC.
- Highlight the player. Move the selection to the player you want to report.
- Open the profile. Choose View Profile.
- Start the report. Select Report Player.
- Choose the reason. Review the descriptions and select the most appropriate cheating or unfair-advantage reason. You may select multiple reasons if each one accurately describes what happened.
- Submit. Choose Send Report. If you also want to stop further interaction through the game’s player controls, Report & Block Player is available as an option in the documented flow.
Take care at the player-selection step. Reporting the wrong person cannot be corrected by pressing the button repeatedly, and repeated submissions do not create extra weight for the same complaint. Verify the highlighted name before you continue.
If the match ends before you can complete the report, use the lobby or Social-menu route instead. Do not assume that leaving the match makes an in-game report impossible.
Other in-game routes
From the lobby player list
- Open the player list in the lobby.
- Highlight the suspected player.
- Open the player’s profile and select Report Player.
- Review the reason descriptions, select the applicable reason or reasons, and choose Send Report. Use Report & Block Player if you want both actions.
The exact wording or button placement can vary in DMZ. Look for the player’s profile action that leads to Report Player; do not substitute a general feedback or account-support option when the in-game report control is available.
From Social
- Open the Social menu.
- Use either the Party & Friends tab or the Recent tab to locate the player.
- Open the player’s profile and choose Report Player.
- Select the closest matching reason or reasons, then choose Send Report. The documented flow also offers Report & Block Player.
If you are looking for someone who was not in your party, the Recent tab is the documented place to start. If the person is still in your group or friends list, check Party & Friends. The names and arrangement may differ in DMZ, but the objective is the same: reach that player’s profile and use its report action.

These routes are documented for Warzone. Activision’s support index, checked October 13, 2026, surfaced Warzone and Modern Warfare II reporting material but no separate DMZ reporting article. That is why the paths above should be treated as the nearest official guidance rather than a guarantee that every DMZ label is identical.

How to make the report useful
Choose the closest reason
Read the descriptions shown in the report form before selecting an option. If the form offers separate categories for software, exploiting a bug, or another unfair advantage, choose the category that best matches the behavior you saw. Multiple selections are appropriate only when the observed conduct fits more than one description.
Do not select every category just to make the report appear more serious. A precise category gives the review team a clearer account of why you opened the report. If none of the descriptions is an exact match, choose the closest accurate option rather than an unrelated complaint type.
Keep the description factual
State what happened in gameplay terms: what you saw, when it occurred, and why it appeared to provide an advantage. Avoid insults, threats, or claims about a player’s identity. A report is a request for review, not a verdict that you are expected to prove yourself.

The first approach is more appropriate for a good-faith report.
Submit once
Send one good-faith report for the incident. Reopening the menu and pressing the report control repeatedly does not strengthen the case.
What happens after you send a report?
Activision says reports are reviewed and that it may take appropriate action, including a warning, suspension, or ban. The company says it aims to review reports as soon as possible, but it does not promise a specific response time or a particular penalty.
The reported player may be notified that a report was made and may be told the reason, but Activision says it will not reveal who submitted it. Because of confidentiality, the reporter does not receive an account-specific outcome. You should therefore not expect a confirmation explaining whether the player was punished.

There is also no need to wait for a message before continuing to use the game. Once the report is sent, the review process is handled by Activision. Keep your expectations limited to the documented possibilities: review and, where appropriate, a warning, suspension, or ban.
Do not spam or weaponize the report system
In its January 17, 2025 Call of Duty Community Update, Activision said that repeated report-button presses by one player against another do not count as more than one report. Repeated submissions are therefore not a way to increase the weight of a complaint.
The same update identifies malicious reporting as contrary to the Security and Enforcement Policy. Do not file retaliatory reports because of a loss, an argument, a playstyle you dislike, or a disagreement that is not cheating. Use the feature for a genuine concern and describe the conduct accurately.

Each person should use the control only for a good-faith concern based on conduct they observed. The policy point applies whether the report is made during the match, from the lobby, or through Social.
Do not use the security-vulnerability form for a player report
Activision’s “Report Security Issues” page is for game security vulnerabilities, not for reporting an individual player. Its instruction is explicit: “This form is for reporting game security vulnerabilities only. To report a cheater, please use the in-game Report Player option.”
A suspected cheater should therefore be reported through the DMZ in-game control. Use the vulnerability channel only when you have discovered a security flaw in the game or service itself, rather than a particular player’s behavior. Sending a player complaint to that form is the wrong channel and does not replace the in-game report.
If DMZ’s menus do not match these instructions
The scoreboard button does not open
Check the control assigned to scoreboard in your platform’s current DMZ settings. The Warzone guide identifies View for Xbox, Touchpad for PlayStation, and Tab for PC; a customized binding or a different interface can change how you reach the scoreboard. If you cannot reach it during the match, leave the match and try the lobby player list or Social menu.
You cannot find the player after the match
Open Social and check both Party & Friends and Recent. The documented Warzone flow uses those tabs to locate players outside the active match. DMZ may organize the same information differently, so look for a recent-player or profile entry that exposes Report Player.

There is no identical reason label
DMZ may not use the exact Warzone wording. Read the available descriptions and select the closest truthful category. Do not choose an unrelated reason simply because it is the only familiar label.
The report option is unavailable
Do not send an individual-player complaint through the security-vulnerability form. If the in-game option is temporarily missing, use the other documented in-game locations—lobby or Social—when available, and avoid repeated or retaliatory submissions.
You are unsure whether the conduct qualifies
Return to the Code of Conduct standard: third-party cheats, bug exploitation, and other activity that grants an unfair advantage are within the reporting purpose. If all you can identify is an ordinary defeat or a disagreement, do not turn that frustration into a malicious report. If the behavior remains genuinely suspicious, select the closest reason and describe only what you observed.

Will the other player know that I reported them?
Activision says a reported player may be notified that a report was made and may be told the reason, but it will not reveal who submitted the report.
Will Activision tell me what happened to the account?
No account-specific outcome is provided to the reporter because of confidentiality. Do not expect a message confirming a warning, suspension, ban, or no action.
How quickly will Activision review it?
