Delisting usually stops new sales; it does not automatically cancel a purchase you already made. SEGA Support’s notice, updated November 19, 2025, says selected SEGA Classics games and bundles would become unavailable for new purchases from December 6, 2025, at 11:59 p.m. Pacific Time, while owned games would remain in the buyer’s library for download and play. A refund is therefore decided by the storefront that processed your payment, not by the delisting alone.
Use the platform section below, submit the request through the official account or transaction-history tools, and explain the timeline accurately. Steam, PlayStation, Xbox/Microsoft Store, and Nintendo eShop apply materially different rules.

What a Sega delisting changes—and what it does not
SEGA’s November 19, 2025 support notice describes delisting as selected games and bundles becoming “unavailable for new purchases.” The same notice says, “Your owned games will still be available in your library,” with existing owners able to download and play the affected titles. The listed releases span Steam, Xbox, Nintendo Switch, and PlayStation, with the delisting scheduled to begin December 6, 2025, at 11:59 p.m. PST.

- Can a new customer buy the game? Not after the applicable delisting time.
- Does an existing purchase remain available? SEGA says an owned copy remains in the purchaser’s library for download and play.
Because the store processed the original payment, its refund policy controls. A game disappearing from a store page is not, by itself, a promise of a refund. You need to show that the transaction falls within the platform’s normal rules, qualifies for a faulty-content or legal exception, or merits discretionary review.

Check your account before asking for money back
First determine whether you have lost access or are only seeing the normal result of a delisting.
- Open the library on the account that paid. Search the exact Sega title and edition or bundle. A purchase made on a different console, family account, Steam account, or Microsoft account will not appear on the current account.
- Try the platform’s download or install command. If the title installs and launches, the delisting has removed the sales listing but not your entitlement.
- Record the symptom. Note whether the game is absent from the library, the download fails, the game installs but will not launch, or only the store listing is gone. These are different facts for support to assess.
- Find the original transaction. Save the order number, purchase date, edition, price, payment method, and a receipt or transaction-history screenshot if the form permits attachments.
If the game remains downloadable and playable, you can still ask for a refund under the store’s rules, but the delisting itself is unlikely to establish a failure. If access has actually been lost or a download fails, describe that concrete problem instead of saying only that the game was delisted.

Steam: submit a standard request or ask for discretionary review
Normal eligibility
Valve’s standard refund rule is a request made within 14 days of purchase with less than two hours of playtime. The two-hour calculation includes online play, offline play, and play through a shared library. Steam can still accept a request outside those limits for review, but the exception is discretionary and approval is not guaranteed.

- Open Steam Help and sign in to the account that bought the game.
- Choose Purchases.
- Select the Sega game or bundle.
- Choose the problem that best describes the transaction.
- Select I’d like to request a refund.
- Complete the explanation and choose Steam Wallet or the original payment method where offered.
- Submit the request and retain both confirmation messages: Steam sends one when the request is filed and another when it is processed.
How to explain an old purchase
If you bought the game months or years before the delisting, say so plainly. Include the purchase date, the date you learned of the delisting, whether the title still appears in your library, and whether you downloaded or played it. Ask Valve to review the request outside the standard 14-day/two-hour window; do not state that delisting makes you automatically eligible.
A concise explanation might read: “I purchased [title and edition] on [date], order [number]. It was later delisted on or around [date]. The title is [still in my library but fails to download / no longer appears in my library]. I played approximately [time]. Please review whether a refund is available under your policy or as a discretionary exception.” Keep the bracketed fields replaced with your actual information before submitting.

EU and UK digital-content point
Valve explains that statutory withdrawal for digital content in EU and UK contexts generally ends 14 days after purchase or when downloading starts, whichever happens sooner. That legal rule is separate from Steam’s voluntary refund process. If you believe a local consumer-law right applies, identify your country and the concrete defect or loss of access in the request rather than assuming the delisting itself cancels the withdrawal period.
PlayStation Store: use Transaction History first
Standard conditions
PlayStation’s checklist for games and downloadable content normally requires both of these conditions: the request is made within 14 days of purchase, and the content has not been downloaded or streamed. PlayStation says the no-download/no-stream condition can be different when the content is faulty, and it notes that local law may provide additional rights.

Exact request path
- Open your PlayStation account’s Transaction History.
- Select the Sega transaction.
- Choose Request Refund.
- Follow the on-screen questions and submit the request.
If the transaction does not offer the automated option, contact PlayStation Support or use the online assistant. Provide the same order details and explain whether the issue is simply the delisting, a failed download, or a genuine launch or content fault.
Refund destination and timing
PlayStation says an approved refund may take 30–60 days. It is normally returned to the original payment method; if that is not possible, PlayStation may credit the account wallet. The stated processing period is not an approval deadline, so first establish eligibility and then allow the published time for the payment to arrive.
Xbox and Microsoft Store: file the digital-game request

For an Xbox purchase, Microsoft directs customers to its Request a refund for digital games page. For Microsoft Store PC games, Microsoft’s documented sequence is:

- Sign in with the Microsoft account that made the purchase.
- Select the Sega item.
- Choose Request a refund.
- Enter the reason and select Next.
- Verify the transaction details.
- Select Submit.
Xbox also directs customers to check the Digital Game Purchase Refund Terms and then follow the Refund Request Process for eligible content. Microsoft warns that online returns are not available in all markets, so the page may direct you to a different support route depending on your account region.

What to put in the explanation
Include the Sega title and edition, platform and device, order number, purchase date, payment method, known delisting date, and the result of your library check. State clearly whether the game is unavailable to buy only, unavailable to download, or unavailable to launch. If you downloaded, streamed, or played it, give the approximate date or duration instead of omitting that fact.
Processing expectations
Microsoft says a request may take up to 72 hours to process. When approved, refunds are generally processed within 3–5 business days to the original payment option. Those periods describe review and payment processing, not a promise that every request qualifies.
Nintendo eShop: contact support with realistic expectations
Published Nintendo rule
Nintendo’s support article for downloaded games and DLC states: “We are unable to provide refunds or exchanges for mistaken purchases.” Nintendo does not publish a Steam-style 14-day/two-hour guarantee in that guidance, and it does not promise a special exception when a Sega title is delisted.
How to present an unresolved case
- Collect the Nintendo account email or ID, console, game title and edition, order number, purchase date, and payment details.
- Record whether the title appears in your redownload list and whether a download or launch fails.
- Contact Nintendo Support and request a review of the specific transaction.
- Describe any concrete fault or loss of access, and attach the receipt or transaction screenshot if the support channel allows it.
Do not describe the request as guaranteed because the store listing disappeared. The strongest factual distinction is between a title that remains redownloadable for an owner and one that your account can no longer access.

Build a complete evidence package
Use one short, chronological explanation and attach only documents that help identify the transaction or prove the fault. Include:
- Storefront and device: Steam, PlayStation, Xbox/Microsoft Store, or Nintendo eShop, plus the console or PC where relevant.
- Exact Sega game title, edition, and bundle name.
- Order number, purchase date, price if shown, and payment method.
- Date you first learned of the delisting.
- Whether the game remains in your library and whether you can download, stream, install, and launch it.
- Approximate download, stream, launch, and play history.
- A short description of any error message, failed download, missing entitlement, or other reproducible fault.
- A request to return the money to the original payment method where the platform’s policy permits that.
Keep screenshots legible and redact unrelated payment details. Never claim that you did not download or play a game when the platform’s records can show otherwise; an accurate timeline is more useful than a broader but unsupported argument.

The store page is gone, but the game still works
This is the ordinary delisting outcome described by SEGA. You can submit a request if you are within the storefront’s standard window, but outside-window approval is discretionary. The practical benefit of contacting support may be limited unless another policy condition applies.
The game is in the library but will not download
Capture the error, try the platform’s normal redownload process once, and report the failed download with the order number. A technical or entitlement failure is a more specific issue than the fact of delisting.

Confirm that you are signed into the purchasing account, check transaction history, and verify that the item was not a subscription, temporary access license, or a different edition. If the purchase is confirmed but the entitlement is missing, ask support to investigate the account record and request a refund if restoration is not possible.

You exceeded the normal time limit
Submit the request anyway where the storefront provides an out-of-policy or support-review route. State the dates and facts, then ask for a discretionary review. Do not present the request as an entitlement that the published rules guarantee.
You bought a bundle
Identify the bundle name and every component you used. A store may evaluate the bundle transaction rather than an individual title, and play or download activity can affect the review. Ask support whether the platform can refund the transaction under its rules instead of assuming that one delisted component makes the whole bundle refundable.
Regional and payment-method qualifications
Store policies can vary by country, account region, payment instrument, and whether the transaction was billed by the platform or a separate retailer. PlayStation expressly notes that local law may provide additional rights. Valve’s EU/UK explanation distinguishes statutory digital-content withdrawal from its voluntary refund process. Microsoft’s online return flow is not available in every market. Nintendo’s restrictive published rule does not state a delisting exception.

A bank or payment-provider dispute can affect the account and should be used only when appropriate under that provider’s rules, after you have preserved the transaction record and platform correspondence.
What to do after a denial
- Read the denial reason and check whether it concerns the date, playtime, download status, region, or account identity.
- Reply through the same support case with the missing evidence, not a new copy of the same request.
- Correct factual errors, such as a mistaken edition or account, and distinguish a sales delisting from a loss of access.
- If you rely on local consumer law, state your country and the specific right or defect you believe applies.
- Keep the case number, receipts, screenshots, and all responses together.
There is no published cross-platform approval rate for delisted Sega-game refunds. Treat each result as a policy decision on the individual transaction, not as a guaranteed outcome based on another player’s experience.
