The company that charged your payment controls the refund. For a Battlefield 6 purchase billed by the EA app or EA.com, open EA Account → Payments & Wallet, select the transaction, and run the EA Refund Tool. Purchases billed by PlayStation, Xbox, Steam, Epic, Nintendo, a mobile store, or a physical retailer must be requested from that seller instead. Separately purchased Battlefield 6 DLC and in-game currency are excluded from EA’s standard refund policy, although consumer law in some places can provide additional rights.
Identify the seller before you submit anything
A Battlefield 6 receipt can mention EA even when another company collected the money. The billing storefront—not the game publisher’s name shown in the game—determines where the request belongs. Check the email receipt, the charge on your bank or card statement, the platform’s purchase history, and EA Account → Payments & Wallet. Match the order number and amount before opening a case.

EA’s eligibility windows and exclusions
These are the standard windows EA describes for eligible purchases made through an EA-controlled checkout. Meeting a time limit does not override an exclusion for the item type or the requirement that the transaction qualify under the policy.

EA’s own wording is: “You can use our Refund Tool to check if your game qualifies for a self-service refund and submit a request.” The tool’s result is the practical starting point for an EA-billed transaction. EA also states: “Downloadable content (DLC) and in-game currencies aren’t refundable if bought separately.” Consumer-protection law in your jurisdiction may provide remedies beyond this standard policy.
Requesting an EA app or EA.com refund
- Confirm the charge. Sign in to the EA account associated with the Battlefield 6 purchase and compare the transaction in Payments & Wallet with your receipt or statement.
- Select the exact order. Choose the Battlefield 6 transaction, not a different edition, subscription, bundle, or later coin purchase. Record the order number, date, item name, platform, and amount.
- Open the EA Refund Tool. Follow the eligibility questions and submit the request through the tool. Answer whether the game was launched, whether a download began, and what went wrong truthfully.
- Save the result. Keep the confirmation page or message and any case number. Do not create duplicate requests for the same order while the first one is being reviewed.
- Escalate through EA Help when needed. If the tool cannot find the order, returns an unclear result, or does not address the problem, contact EA Help. Include the issue, Battlefield 6, the platform on which you play, the order number, and the account email; explain the billing storefront if it differs from the platform you use to launch the game.
The EA route is appropriate only when EA’s own checkout charged you. If your card statement identifies a console, PC storefront, mobile store, or retailer, submitting the same request to EA will not transfer it to the correct seller.
PlayStation purchases: add-ons and consumables have separate rules
For a Battlefield 6 transaction billed by PlayStation, use PlayStation Support’s refund-request flow. PlayStation treats virtual currency, skins, bonus levels, emotes, XP boosts, and other gameplay-depleted items as add-ons or consumables. Their treatment can differ from a full-game purchase.

PlayStation’s general policy says a game or add-on can be cancelled within 14 days when downloading or streaming has not started. The item category, the point at which downloading or use began, and local law can change the result. A coin pack that has been credited or spent is therefore not in the same position as an unstarted download. Describe exactly what happened instead of calling every purchase a “game.”
- Open your PlayStation purchase history or receipt and identify the order number and account that paid.
- Use the PlayStation refund form or support contact associated with that order.
- Name the Battlefield 6 item precisely: full game, add-on, skin, emote, XP boost, coin pack, or another consumable.
- State whether downloading, streaming, delivery to the game account, or consumption began, and provide the purchase date.
- Retain PlayStation’s confirmation and any follow-up request for evidence.
EA cannot override a PlayStation decision on a PlayStation-billed transaction. If statutory consumer rights in your location are stronger than the general policy, raise that point with the seller handling the payment.

Xbox purchases: send the request to Xbox/Microsoft
When Xbox billed the Battlefield 6 purchase, submit the request through Xbox or Microsoft support for that transaction. EA’s policy routes console-store purchases to the console storefront, so an EA account history alone does not make EA the seller.
No separate Battlefield 6-specific Xbox timing rule is established here. Use the eligibility information and purchase status shown in the Xbox/Microsoft support flow, and identify whether the order was the full game, an add-on, or virtual currency. Keep the Xbox order number, Microsoft account, purchase date, and a truthful explanation of any download or use. If the charge appears under a different seller on your statement, follow that record instead.

For a Steam-billed Battlefield 6 purchase, start with Steam Support’s purchase-refund flow. Steam’s often-cited 48-hour rule for in-game items is written for Valve-developed games and requires that the item not have been consumed, modified, or transferred. Battlefield 6 is not automatically covered by that wording merely because the transaction appears in Steam.
Choose the exact Steam transaction and explain the item and its status. A full game, an expansion, a skin, and currency are different purchase types. Say whether the game or add-on was downloaded, whether the virtual item was delivered, and whether any part was consumed, modified, or transferred. Steam can then apply the rule that actually governs that transaction rather than an assumed blanket entitlement.
If the Steam receipt shows that another company—not Steam—completed a separate in-game payment, use the company named on that receipt. Epic’s Battlefield 6 FAQ, for example, says that in-game purchases are processed by EA; the billing record still decides which support channel owns your particular charge.

Epic Games Store purchases: follow the payment record
Epic’s Battlefield 6 FAQ says, “In-game purchases are processed by EA,” and directs refund questions to EA Help. That guidance applies when the relevant in-game transaction was processed by EA. An Epic purchase of the full game can still be an Epic-billed transaction, so inspect the receipt before choosing a route.
- Open Epic’s transaction history and the email receipt.
- Separate the full-game order from any later currency, skin, or add-on order.
- For an EA-processed in-game charge, use the EA Help route and provide the Epic platform, item name, and EA account details.
- For an Epic-billed order, use Epic’s support flow and quote the Epic order number.
Do not assume that the store used to launch Battlefield 6 is the same store that sold every item in your account. A game can be launched through one platform while an associated purchase was billed by another company.
Pre-orders and cancellations before release
EA says pre-orders can be cancelled and refunded until release. The correct procedure still depends on who charged the pre-order. An EA app or EA.com pre-order belongs in Payments & Wallet and the EA Refund Tool; a console or PC-store pre-order belongs in that store’s support flow.
Submit before the release date if you want to use the pre-release cancellation route. Include the order number and identify the edition, especially when it contains virtual currency, a content pack, or another bonus. If the seller’s receipt shows that the order has already changed status after release, explain the date and status rather than describing it simply as a pre-order.
Coins, skins, DLC, and bundled content
Separately purchased coins or currency
EA’s standard policy excludes in-game currencies bought separately. That covers a standalone Battlefield 6 coin or currency transaction made through EA’s checkout. If a platform store billed it, the platform’s own consumable rules are the starting point, but delivery or use can affect eligibility.

Skins, emotes, boosts, and other consumables
These items are not interchangeable with the full game. PlayStation explicitly classifies virtual currency, skins, bonus levels, emotes, XP boosts, and other gameplay-depleted items as add-ons or consumables. Give the seller the item’s exact name and say whether it was delivered or used.
Separately purchased DLC
EA excludes separately purchased DLC from its standard refund policy. An expansion or add-on may have a different platform policy when the platform billed it, particularly where downloading has not started. The purchase channel and the item type must both be stated in the request.
Editions and bundles containing extras
An edition that includes currency or content packs is not necessarily treated like a standalone full-game purchase. EA identifies some such editions as excluded. Submit the edition name and the complete order rather than trying to split a bundled price into a refundable game portion and non-refundable extras.
Information to gather before contacting support
- Billing storefront shown on the receipt or statement.
- Order or transaction number.
- Purchase date and, for a full game, the first-launch date.
- EA account email or platform account used for the purchase.
- Platform on which Battlefield 6 is played.
- Exact product name and type: full game, edition, DLC, skin, emote, boost, coin pack, or other add-on.
- Whether downloading or streaming started.
- Whether currency or an item was delivered, consumed, modified, or transferred.
- A concise, truthful explanation of the problem.
- Screenshots or receipts showing the order number and charge, with unrelated payment details concealed.
Use the same facts in every channel. Changing the item description or launch date between a storefront request and an EA case can delay identification of the transaction.

The transaction is missing
Check that you are signed in to the account that paid, not merely the account that launches the game. Compare the currency, date, and order number on the receipt. If the payment was made through a console, Steam, Epic, Nintendo, mobile store, or retailer, return to that seller rather than trying to force the order into EA’s history.

The tool says the item is not eligible
Read the item type and purchase date shown in the result. Separately bought DLC and currency are excluded from EA’s standard policy, and launching, downloading, or consuming an item can affect a platform request. If you believe local consumer law applies, tell the seller the country or region of purchase and ask how to submit a statutory-rights claim.
The issue is a technical failure
For an EA-billed new game, EA describes a 72-hour-after-first-launch window during the first 30 days after release when problems within EA’s control—such as server issues or bugs—prevent play. Describe the specific failure, dates, error behavior, and troubleshooting already attempted. Do not label an unrelated preference or accidental purchase as a technical failure.
You received a denial from the wrong company
Use the receipt to identify the actual merchant and submit there. EA cannot process purchases made through other storefronts, and a platform cannot refund a separate EA-billed transaction merely because the game is installed through that platform.

Consumer law and changing policies
EA notes that statutory rights in some jurisdictions may provide additional remedies, including refunds. A platform’s general policy is not a substitute for the law that applies where you bought the product. If you rely on those rights, state the purchase country or region, the merchant, the product, and the remedy you are requesting.
Store policies can change. Before submitting, re-open the support page for the seller shown on your current receipt and read the wording presented for your region. Keep a copy of the policy result, confirmation number, and correspondence so you can show which rule was displayed when you requested the refund.
