How to Reset or Respec Your Hero Build in Hero Tale

You can reset your main skill tree once at level 15, according to the Hero Tale FAQ. Open the skill tree, click your hero’s face, then select the reset control in the upper-right corner. The FAQ does not document a repeat reset, so check the live menu carefully before committing.

How to reset the main skill tree

  1. Reach level 15. The Hero Tale FAQ says the reset becomes available at this level and can be used once. See the FAQ’s answer to “Can I reset my skill tree?” at Hero Tale FAQ.
  2. Open the skill tree.
  3. Click your hero’s face.
  4. Use the reset control in the upper-right corner. Review the interface before confirming, since the FAQ describes the option as one-time.

The FAQ is community-maintained rather than an official developer support page. It does not establish whether a later game update added another main-tree reset, so rely on the current in-game interface if its labels or controls differ.

Main skill tree and dark skill tree are different

The level-15 instructions above concern the main skill tree. Players have separately discussed the dark skill tree: in a 2024 Steam discussion, one player reported that beating the final boss and starting New Game+ reset dark skill points for reassignment. That is a community report, not confirmed official guidance, and should not be treated as a guaranteed current mechanic. Read the discussion at Steam Community.

What to check before respecing

  • Confirm that you are changing the intended tree; the main and dark trees are discussed separately.
  • Check the reset prompt and current menu before proceeding, particularly if a game update has changed the interface.
  • Do not assume the main-tree reset can be repeated: the FAQ describes it as a one-time option and does not document another.
