Most Core Keeper bosses do not return on a timer. To fight one again, go back to its original rune, arena, throne room, dungeon, or roaming-titan area and use that boss’s designated summon item. Runes cannot be destroyed, but summon items are specific: an idol for one rune will not activate a different rune. A few encounters use special timing or entirely different interactions, including fishing for Omoroth and using wind organs for roaming titans.

How boss respawning works
Boss runes are permanent ground objects. Place the correct summoning item directly on the matching rune and the encounter begins when the game accepts the placement. The item is consumed, so bring a spare before making a long trip. The arena itself also matters: an item can appear to do nothing when used in the wrong room, on the wrong rune, or outside the required boss location.

After some fights, the boss’s soul or another post-fight state remains briefly. During that period, the next summon may be blocked even when the item and location are correct. Azeos and Omoroth have documented delays; the roaming titans require their organ to be used near the titan’s current tracked location instead of at a fixed rune.

Rune-based bosses
Glurch, Ivy, Morpha and Igneous
These four mass-type bosses share the Giant Slime Summoning Idol. Return to the individual boss’s own rune circle and place the idol there. The shared item does not mean the arenas are interchangeable: Glurch’s, Ivy’s, Morpha’s and Igneous’s runes remain separate, and the idol must be placed on the one belonging to the boss you want.

This is useful when planning several fights because one item type covers four encounters, but it also creates the most common identification mistake. Check the boss name and the rune before placing anything. A Giant Slime idol used at the wrong slime rune is not a way to choose a different boss, and it does not replace the Crown Summoning Idol required by King Slime.
King Slime
King Slime uses a Crown Summoning Idol on a slime summoning rune. Do not substitute the Giant Slime Summoning Idol; the two items trigger different encounters. If you are carrying several idols, separate them in your inventory before traveling so the crown is easy to select at the rune.

Find Ghorm’s original rune circle and place a Ghorm Summoning Idol on it. If the idol is consumed without a spawn, verify that you are standing on the actual circle rather than beside the tunnel where Ghorm travels. Being in the correct general passage is not enough; the circle is the activation object.
The Hive Mother
At the Hive Mother rune circle, place a Hive Mother Summoning Idol. The circle is the activation point, so carrying the item to the surrounding hive area is not enough if you are not directly at the rune. Clear enemies around the circle first, then place the idol on the visible ground object rather than on a nearby floor tile.
Malugaz the Corrupted
Malugaz is summoned at the sigil in the throne room, not at a generic boss rune. His item is the Skull of the Corrupted Shaman, which requires three Crystal Skull Shards to craft. Bring the completed skull to the throne-room sigil and place it at the activation point. If you have shards but no activation, check that the skull itself has been crafted and that you are using the throne-room sigil rather than another marked location.
Titans and arena-specific encounters
Azeos the Sky Titan
Use a Large Shiny Glimmering Object in Azeos’s arena. Azeos has a visible post-fight sequence: allow about five minutes for the soul to disappear, followed by approximately 20 seconds for the shadow to return. The documented direct-respawn interval is therefore about 5 minutes 20 seconds. If the object is already placed, Azeos can appear as soon as that state has cleared, so you do not necessarily need to place a second object after waiting.

The practical sequence is to place the object once, leave enough room to fight, and wait through the soul-and-shadow transition. Replacing the object repeatedly during those five minutes only risks wasting another item. If the shadow has not returned, the delay is the likely explanation; if it has returned and there is still no encounter, recheck the arena and the exact placement tile.
Omoroth the Sea Titan
Omoroth is not summoned by placing an idol. Put an Expert Lure in your off-hand, equip a fishing rod, and cast into an arena whirlpool. Reel in the bite to start the encounter. After a defeat, the boss’s soul may need five minutes or longer to disappear before another attempt can register. If the fishing interaction does not trigger, check both that the lure is in the off-hand and that the cast lands in an arena whirlpool rather than ordinary water.

Because the lure occupies the off-hand, simply carrying it in your inventory does not satisfy the summon requirement. Likewise, fishing in nearby water does not substitute for the marked whirlpool. Wait for the previous soul state to clear, equip the lure and rod, then make the cast from the arena itself.
Ra-Akar the Sand Titan
Return to Ra-Akar’s arena and place a Thumper there. This is an arena placement interaction, not a roaming-titan call, so use the arena as the reference point when diagnosing a failed activation. Do not carry a wind organ to this fight or search for a moving titan marker; the Thumper and the arena are the relevant pair.
Druidra, Crydra and Pyrdra
The three roaming titans use different wind organs:
- Druidra: Wind Organ of Wilderness.
- Crydra: Wind Organ of Ice.
- Pyrdra: Wind Organ of Fire.
Use the matching organ near the titan’s tracked location. There is no single permanent rune to revisit for these fights; searching an old arena can waste the item and time if the titan has moved elsewhere. Confirm the tracked name before selecting an organ, since the organs are not interchangeable. If a wind organ does nothing, move closer to the current location rather than trying it at a remembered spawn site.
Late-game summon points
Core Commander
The first Core Commander activation is tied to the Crystal Meteor. You must have all six titan souls and shatter the meteor before the encounter can be initiated. Once that prerequisite has been met and the boss has been defeated, return to the rune inside the meteor and place a Core Commander Summoning Idol to call it again.
This creates two different checklists. For the first encounter, confirm the six souls and the shattered meteor; for every later encounter, confirm only the internal rune and the Core Commander idol. Trying to use the idol before the meteor prerequisite is complete will not bypass that progression step.

Go to Nimruza’s Oasis dungeon and use Corrupted Sap on the rune there. The Oasis dungeon rune is the fixed location for this summon, so a sap placed elsewhere will not start the fight. Treat the dungeon rune as a dedicated activation point rather than a general desert arena.
How to get the summon items
Cloaked Merchant idols
The Cloaked Merchant sells several boss idols, including the Giant Slime Summoning Idol for 200 Ancient Coins. Merchant stock restocks after time passes, so an idol that is absent on one visit can become available on a later restock. This is the practical source to check first when you need repeated slime-boss attempts.

Budget 200 Ancient Coins for each Giant Slime idol you plan to buy, and check the merchant again instead of assuming an empty slot is permanent. Since one Giant Slime idol serves Glurch, Ivy, Morpha or Igneous, decide which rune you will visit before spending the item. The purchase price does not make the four arenas interchangeable; it only means the same item category can activate each matching mass boss.
Titan items and world-version differences
Titan summon items can be crafted at the Ancient Shrine or obtained through the Spirit Merchant associated with the Ancient Hologram Pod, depending on the item and the version of the world. Because availability differs by item and world version, check the recipe and merchant inventory in the world where you intend to farm the boss rather than assuming every titan item uses the same source.

The correct source for one wind organ or arena item may not be the source for another, so verify each item individually. If an expected recipe is missing, check the Spirit Merchant and the relevant Ancient Hologram Pod rather than substituting a similar-looking item.
Items with specific crafting requirements
Malugaz’s Skull of the Corrupted Shaman has the clearest material requirement: three Crystal Skull Shards. Other entries in the reference identify the required object but do not establish a single universal acquisition method. For those items, use the crafting stations and merchants available in your current world version. Keep the completed item together with the travel supplies so you do not reach a rune with only the materials needed to make the summon.
What to check when a summon fails
- Confirm the boss and item match. Read the item name before placing it. Crown Summoning Idol, Giant Slime Summoning Idol, Ghorm Summoning Idol and Hive Mother Summoning Idol are separate items, while the Giant Slime idol covers only Glurch, Ivy, Morpha and Igneous.
- Return to the original activation point. Use the boss’s own rune, circle, sigil, arena or dungeon. For Druidra, Crydra and Pyrdra, move to the titan’s tracked location and use the matching wind organ.
- Check the interaction type. Omoroth requires an Expert Lure in the off-hand and a fishing cast into an arena whirlpool. Placing an idol near the whirlpool cannot replace that process.
- Allow the previous encounter to clear. Azeos needs roughly 5 minutes 20 seconds for the soul and shadow sequence. Omoroth may need five minutes or longer for the soul to disappear. A placed Azeos object can remain ready until the shadow returns.
- Verify one-time prerequisites. Core Commander cannot be activated the first time until all six titan souls are collected and the Crystal Meteor is shattered.
- Inspect the exact ground tile. Stand on the rune or sigil and place the item on the activation object itself. Being in the correct biome or room is not sufficient if the object is a few tiles away.
- Check your inventory after an attempt. A consumed item means the game accepted the placement; if no boss appears, leave the arena, wait for the relevant post-fight state to clear, and return rather than immediately spending another item.
- Do not mix location types. A roaming titan needs a tracked location and wind organ, while Ra-Akar needs an arena and Thumper, and Omoroth needs a whirlpool, lure and rod. Using the right item in the wrong interaction category will not work.
A reliable repeat-fight routine
- Identify the boss you want and write down the exact item from the reference table.
- Collect at least one spare summon item before leaving your base. For Giant Slime idols, check the Cloaked Merchant and carry 200 Ancient Coins per purchase.
- Travel to the original rune or arena. For a roaming titan, locate its current tracked position instead of a remembered arena.
- Clear hazards around the activation point so the placement and ensuing fight are not interrupted.
- Use the item with the correct interaction: place it on a rune, sigil or arena point; use a wind organ near its titan; or fish for Omoroth.
- After the kill, note the relevant delay before trying again. Azeos’s documented cycle is about 5 minutes 20 seconds; Omoroth can take five minutes or longer.
- Repeat only after the boss’s soul or shadow state has cleared. If the summon still fails, return to the item-and-location checks instead of using another item blindly.

Use this comparison to diagnose a failure before consuming another item. If the interaction type, location and item all agree, the remaining explanation is usually a documented post-fight state or an unmet first-time prerequisite.
Important distinctions to remember
- Most bosses have no automatic respawn timer; a player-triggered summon is required.
- Runes are indestructible, so destroying or rebuilding the arena is not part of the process.
- The Giant Slime Summoning Idol is shared by four bosses, but each still has its own rune circle.
- King Slime’s Crown Summoning Idol is separate from the Giant Slime idol.
- Omoroth is the major exception to rune placement: the Expert Lure, off-hand slot and fishing rod are mandatory parts of the summon.
- Roaming titans are located by tracking their current area and using the corresponding wind organ, not by searching for a fixed rune.
- Core Commander and Nimruza have dedicated late-game activation points and dedicated items.
- A consumed item does not mean a second item is immediately needed; first wait for the relevant soul, shadow or progression state to clear.

Why is Azeos not appearing after I place the object?
After a defeat, allow about five minutes for Azeos’s soul to disappear and another 20 seconds for the shadow to return. A correctly placed object can remain ready and trigger when that sequence finishes.
How do I summon Omoroth again?

To respawn a Core Keeper boss, match three things: the correct summon item, the correct activation location and any required waiting or progression condition. Most fights use a boss-specific idol on an indestructible rune; Omoroth requires Expert Lure fishing, roaming titans require their matching wind organ, and Azeos, Omoroth and Core Commander have additional state or progression checks.
