If Epic Games Launcher shows a cloud-save conflict, compare the dates and times and choose the newer file. If there is no conflict prompt, first check whether the game supports Cloud Saves and that the feature is enabled; then look for a local save copy. Epic warns that progress lost by selecting the older conflict file is not recoverable.
Resolve a cloud-save conflict safely
Epic says conflicts commonly occur when you play offline on one device while using Cloud Saves across multiple devices. When the Launcher asks which save to keep, compare the timestamps shown and select the newer file so you retain the latest progress. Do not choose based on which device you played on most recently if the displayed dates show otherwise.

Epic Games Store Support warns: “Any progress lost is not recoverable.” The warning refers to progress lost after selecting the older file in a conflict. Do not assume Epic or the game developer can restore an overwritten save.
If no conflict appears, check game support
Cloud Saves are not available for every Epic Games Store game. In the Launcher, open Library, select Filters, and look under Features for Cloud Saves. You can also check the game’s feature tags on its Store page. If the title does not appear in the filter, that is a reason to verify its support status—not proof that a cloud file is damaged. See Epic’s instructions for checking Cloud Saves support.

Make sure Cloud Saves are enabled
In Epic Games Launcher, open Settings and select the Enable Cloud Saves checkbox. Enabling the setting allows supported games to use Cloud Saves, but it does not recreate a save that is already missing. Epic also cautions that disabling and re-enabling Cloud Saves while using multiple machines can lead to a conflict.
If you play on more than one device, keep the other devices offline or close the game on them while you resolve which copy is current. Avoid switching the setting off and on as a recovery attempt. Epic’s Cloud Saves setup instructions explain the setting.

The folder names in brackets are placeholders: the account ID and game folder depend on your installation. This is not a universal save location. Epic notes that games may instead save in locations such as:

These are possible locations, not a list that applies to every game. For guidance on finding local saves, see Epic’s local-save location article.

When the save is still missing
If the game supports Cloud Saves, the setting is enabled, and you cannot find a local copy in the common locations, contact the game’s developer. Save-file locations and recovery options vary by title; Epic directs players to the developer for game-specific help. Its general Cloud Saving troubleshooting guidance may also help when syncing fails without an error code.
