To romance a member of The Hex in Warframe, finish The Hex quest, start that Protoframe’s conversation through KIM on the Orbiter’s Pom-2, build Chemistry, then talk to them at the Höllvania Central Mall when their dating dialogue unlocks. The required Chemistry rank differs by character, and romance is optional.
Start KIM after completing The Hex
- Complete The Hex quest. Then interact with the Pom-2 computer in your Orbiter. The Pom-2 in the Mall serves other systems, but it does not open the romance and relationship interface.
- Choose the Protoframe you want to pursue. Begin a KIM conversation and finish the introductory exchange. Chemistry gains start after that conversation; KIM profiles show your Chemistry rank and what you have learned about the character.
The Hex consists of six Protoframes, and you can make progress with them whether you intend to date someone or keep the relationship platonic. Digital Extremes’ Warframe: 1999 overview introduces the group.

Raise The Hex Syndicate rank as well
Your Chemistry rank with a character is gated by your standing in The Hex Syndicate. The corresponding Chemistry and Syndicate rank names are Fresh Slice/Friendly, 2-for-1/Liked, Hot & Fresh/Trusted, and Pizza Party/Close. If you earn Chemistry while your Syndicate rank is too low for the next Chemistry rank, that progress is retained; rank up the Syndicate and the Chemistry rank can advance.
Being Liked by every Protoframe is required to unlock The Hex Syndicate Rank 4, but dating any of them is not. As Digital Extremes puts it in the Update 38 notes, “While romance is completely optional, players will need to be Liked by all Protoframes to unlock Rank 4 of The Hex Syndicate.”

Ask them out at the Höllvania Central Mall
When you have enough Chemistry with your chosen character, visit them in the Höllvania Central Mall and select the dating dialogue. The required Chemistry rank varies by Protoframe; the official materials do not give one universal rank or a complete character-by-character threshold list. The dating option appears through Mall dialogue when it becomes available.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsYou can keep a relationship platonic and continue building Chemistry. Chemistry does not decrease, according to the Update 38 notes. A dismissive or antagonistic flirt is not a dependable way to secure a date: a character may decline, though the notes do not describe that as a permanent lockout. Conversations may touch on sensitive subjects, including mental health, loss, and war.

Manage your relationship before switching partners
You can have only one Hex partner at a time. Breakup dialogue is available at the Mall, and KIM can also start or end a relationship. Digital Extremes recommends using the Mall when you are certain about a breakup. Whether you can reunite after ending a relationship depends on the character, so consider that before switching.
