How to romance Triss in “Now or Never”
- Make sure Geralt kissed Triss during “A Matter of Life and Death.” The cited walkthroughs identify that kiss as the requirement for the later romance choice. See Gamer Guides’ quest notes and its “Now or Never” walkthrough.
- Complete “Now or Never” with Triss. The quest follows Triss and the effort to get Novigrad’s hunted mages to safety; the romance conversation comes as she is leaving.
- At the docks, select “Stay with me,” then “I love you.” This is the dialogue sequence reported by the Gamer Guides walkthrough. Wording can vary with the game’s language or localization.

What the choices affect—and what is not established
“Now or Never” brings two concerns together: helping Triss evacuate the mages and deciding whether Geralt commits to a romance with her. The sources establish the kiss prerequisite and dock dialogue, but do not give a complete branch-by-branch account of how every romance decision interacts with mage survival, optional objectives, or earlier quest states. Do not assume that a particular romance choice guarantees a particular mage outcome.
If you are undecided about the commitment, make a manual save before the dock conversation. That gives you a point to reload rather than relying on an unverified assumption that the choice can be reversed.

Which choice should you make?
- Choose the Triss romance if you want Geralt to commit to her: use the required earlier kiss, then select both dock lines in order.
- Prioritize the mage escape separately. The evacuation is central to the quest, but the available walkthrough information does not establish every combination of mage outcomes and romance decisions.
- Do not treat the dock exchange as a casual flirtation. It is presented as the commitment point for the Triss path, so save beforehand if you are unsure.
