There is no publicly documented, Miniclip-approved method that guarantees 8 Ball Pool will run on every rooted Android phone. The safest compatibility test is the official, unmodified game on a stock, unrooted device. If you keep root, you can try the checks below, but treat them as troubleshooting—not as a guaranteed way to bypass the game’s checks or eliminate account risk.
Why 8 Ball Pool may not work on a rooted phone
“Rooted” can describe several different device states: an active root framework such as Magisk, KernelSU, or APatch; a modified system image or custom ROM; or an unlocked bootloader without active root. Those states are not interchangeable, and a failure to launch does not by itself identify the cause.
Google Play Integrity evaluates signals about an app, device, and environment. Its verdicts can include PLAY_RECOGNIZED, MEETS_BASIC_INTEGRITY, MEETS_DEVICE_INTEGRITY, and MEETS_STRONG_INTEGRITY. Google notes that rooting or system compromise can result in an empty device-integrity verdict, but the verdict is not a complete explanation of what an individual game will accept. Miniclip does not publish a root-specific compatibility procedure or disclose all of its detection methods. Root traces, modules, hooks, modified clients, device certification, cached session data, or an account issue could all be relevant. A match failure after the game has launched may instead involve network, server, or enforcement issues. Public documentation does not establish which explanation applies to a particular device.

Miniclip says third-party software and suspicious activity can raise fair-play concerns and that it may suspend or ban accounts when it identifies rule violations. That is not a statement that every rooted player is automatically banned. Read Miniclip’s suspension and exploit guidance.
Protect your account before troubleshooting
- Confirm that your progress is linked to a supported, official sign-in method before clearing app data or changing the system. Recovery depends on that link; local data alone is not a guarantee of recovery.
- Never enter Miniclip, Google, or Facebook credentials into coin-selling, “unlock,” or root-bypass websites or apps. Miniclip warns users not to share login details with third parties; see its banned-account guidance.
- Keep the account and device state stable while testing. Repeatedly adding concealment tools or altering the game can make it harder to diagnose the cause and can add security or enforcement risk.
Safe troubleshooting steps
- Use the official game. Install 8 Ball Pool from Google Play or another Miniclip-authorized distribution channel. Remove modified APKs, patched clients, altered game libraries, and “unlimited coins” builds. Google’s Play Integrity guidance distinguishes recognized, unmodified apps from unrecognized or modified versions.
- Remove tools that alter gameplay or app behavior. Do not run cheats, automation, memory editors, packet manipulation, or process-hooking tools while testing. These are not legitimate compatibility fixes.
- Disable nonessential root modules as a diagnostic test. Prioritize modules that affect app processes, graphics, networking, overlays, system properties, filesystem mounts, or API behavior. This is a general troubleshooting step, not a Miniclip-confirmed fix.
- Reboot after a configuration change. A reboot helps ensure changes to a root framework, module, system property, or boot image are reflected in a fresh app process.
- Clear the cache. On Android, open Settings → Apps → 8 Ball Pool → Storage → Clear cache. Menu names can vary by device.
- Clear storage only if the account is recoverable. The same app storage screen may offer Clear storage or Clear data. This removes local session data and may require you to sign in again; it does not guarantee that progress can be recovered.
- Test and record the result. Note the exact error, device model, Android version, ROM, root framework, game version, and whether the problem occurs at launch, login, or when entering a match.
- Test a stock, unrooted state if the problem continues. Use the root manager’s official restore or uninstall process, or restore the correct stock boot image for your exact device and firmware. Reboot, install the official game, and test before restoring modules. A mismatched image or incomplete restoration can prevent the phone from booting, so do not flash an image intended for a different model or firmware.
- Ask Miniclip for help if needed. Use its support channels and provide the error and device details requested. Do not conceal that the phone is modified if that information is relevant to diagnosis.
What Magisk DenyList can—and cannot—do
Magisk describes DenyList as a way to revert certain Magisk features for selected processes. It is a compatibility and diagnostic feature, not a promise that an app cannot detect root and not a Miniclip-approved bypass. Results can vary by device, configuration, and app version. The documented command-line controls are:

magisk --denylist lsThese commands are listed in the official Magisk tools documentation. Magisk’s documentation says Zygisk runs code within Android application processes, which can matter to compatibility and detection. The Magisk changelog records that MagiskHide was removed in version 24.0 and DenyList introduced; older guides that present MagiskHide as a current built-in feature are outdated. Why passing Play Integrity may not be enough
A Play Integrity verdict reports Google’s assessment under that API; it does not certify that every game will accept the device. This follows from the separate scopes of Google’s integrity service and Miniclip’s own undisclosed detection methods. A game may also encounter a modified app, a root-related module, a local startup problem, or an account issue. Miniclip does not publish enough detail to identify its checks from an integrity result alone.

Likewise, a Play Store certification problem is broader than one game. A third-party checker or a favorable integrity result is not proof of Miniclip compatibility or account safety.
What not to install or use
- “8 Ball Pool mod APK,” unlimited-coin builds, aim or bank-shot cheats, and patched game libraries.
- Cheat engines, memory editors, automation, overlays intended to manipulate play, or packet-manipulation tools.
- Unverified root-hiding or integrity-restoration modules promoted as permanent fixes.
- Coin sellers, bypass services, or third-party login pages that ask for account credentials.
These tools can expose the device or account to malware and credential theft, make the app unrecognized, or conflict with Miniclip’s fair-play rules. An integrity checker passing is not proof that Miniclip will accept the device or that the account is safe from enforcement.

If the game still refuses to run
Choose the next step based on what matters most to you:
- Keep root: Continue only with the official game and nonessential modules removed, understanding that compatibility is not guaranteed. Do not escalate to modified clients or anti-cheat evasion.
- Prioritize playing: A stock, unrooted, certified device is the highest-probability compatibility test. It may still not resolve an account action or an unrelated network or server problem.
- Protect a valuable rooted setup: Use another supported Android or iOS device if restoring the phone is unsafe or impractical. Check that your progress is linked before signing in elsewhere.
If you contact support, prepare the exact error text, game version, phone model, Android version, when the failure occurs, and whether the game was tested in a stock state. Miniclip says it does not disclose its internal detection tools or evidence in individual cases; see its account guidance. If the account is banned, changing root settings will not necessarily reverse that action.
