The local method requires a computer, OBS, a stable internet connection and ongoing monitoring; for a cloud-run option, StreamNeo can loop uploaded videos without leaving your computer on.
Before you start: check channel access and prepare your lessons
Confirm that the YouTube channel is eligible to livestream before planning a launch. YouTube says the channel must be verified and have no live-streaming restrictions in the previous 90 days. Enabling livestreaming for the first time may take up to 24 hours, so do not leave that check until launch day. See YouTube’s encoder setup guidance and live-streaming tips.
Prepare a lesson file or an ordered playlist, and make sure you have the necessary rights to every element in the recording: code demonstrations, music, graphics, slides and embedded media. A video that was previously uploaded or licensed is not automatically cleared for this particular livestream use.
Loop lessons in OBS and connect the YouTube encoder
- Add one lesson: In OBS, add a Media Source, select the lesson file and enable Loop in its properties.
- Build a playlist: Add a VLC Video source, add the lesson files in the intended order and enable Loop Playlist. OBS requires VLC for this source; if OBS is 64-bit, install the 64-bit version of VLC. See the OBS media sources guide.
- Create the YouTube stream: In YouTube Studio, open Live Control Room and create or schedule an encoder stream. Copy the server URL and stream key shown for that stream.
- Enter the connection details in OBS: Open Settings > Stream, choose YouTube as the service, and enter the server URL and stream key. Treat the key like a password: anyone with it can send a feed to the stream. YouTube’s encoder setup instructions explain the connection details.
- Preview before going public: Start the OBS feed and check its preview in Live Control Room. Confirm the event is visible on its watch page and that picture and sound are correct before making it public. YouTube recommends preview checks and continuous audio and video monitoring.
- Keep monitoring during the broadcast: Watch the stream’s status and listen for audio problems. A loop can keep playing while an encoder, computer or network problem silently interrupts what viewers receive; assign someone to check the feed or arrange another monitoring plan.
Plan for navigation and archives
Make lessons findable
A continuous broadcast is not a dependable way to let viewers jump to a specific lesson. YouTube says DVR rewind may be limited or unavailable on very long streams, particularly beyond 12 hours. Publish lessons separately as well when viewers need reliable, individual navigation. See YouTube’s DVR guidance.

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
Do not rely on a long-stream archive
YouTube says streams under 12 hours can be automatically archived, but a stream longer than 12 hours may not be captured at all. Keep a separate local recording or backup if you need an archive; do not assume a continuous 24/7 broadcast will produce a complete YouTube replay. See YouTube’s live-stream archive guidance.
Rights, copyright checks and monetization
YouTube’s livestream terms require the channel operator to have the rights needed for the live content worldwide, including applicable music licensing rights. Its terms of service say: “You represent and warrant that you have all necessary rights for the exploitation of the Live Content on the Google Services throughout the world, including, without limitation, music licensing rights from artists, record labels, publishers (including public performance licenses) and any other royalty participants.”

YouTube scans live streams for third-party content. A detected match can replace the stream with a placeholder, interrupt it temporarily or terminate it. Even if you have a license, the stream can still be interrupted unless the rights holder has added your channel to its Content ID allowlist. Review YouTube’s live-stream copyright guidance and secure permissions before broadcasting.
YouTube says creators in the YouTube Partner Program can monetize live streams, but that does not establish that a particular channel is eligible or that repetitive prerecorded programming meets current monetization policies. Do not budget on ad revenue or assume approval.

Local OBS or cloud playout?
OBS is a practical local option when you want direct control over the files and playlist. The feed is generated by the computer running OBS, so that machine, its internet connection and a monitoring plan need to remain operational. For cloud choices, YouTube lists Gyre as a tool for 24/7 streaming of prerecorded videos; that listing does not establish its uptime, price or capabilities relative to other providers. Verify current service terms and playlist controls with the vendor.
For a YouTube-only cloud workflow, StreamNeo is the first option to consider: it runs an always-on loop from the cloud, supports uploaded video at any quality up to 4K 60fps for one flat price per slot, and gives the first day free.

Common problems and fixes
- Livestreaming is not enabled: Verify the channel and check restrictions. First-time enablement can take up to 24 hours, so enable it well ahead of the scheduled broadcast.
- The VLC playlist source is unavailable: Install VLC and check that its architecture matches OBS; for 64-bit OBS, use 64-bit VLC. Alternatively, loop a single file with a Media Source.
- YouTube is not receiving the OBS feed: Recheck the stream’s server URL and key in Settings > Stream. Confirm the key belongs to the intended event and that the OBS feed is running.
- The broadcast is interrupted by a copyright match: Identify the matched material and resolve the rights issue. If licensed content is still interrupted, ask the rights holder about adding the channel to its Content ID allowlist.
- The archive is missing or incomplete: A stream longer than 12 hours may not be captured. Keep a separate recording instead of relying on YouTube to archive a continuous feed.
- Viewers cannot find a particular lesson or rewind far enough: Very long-stream DVR rewind can be limited or unavailable. Publish lessons individually and direct viewers to those videos for navigation.
- The feed stops while the lesson file is still looping: Check the OBS computer, internet connection and Live Control Room status; continuous playout still requires operational monitoring in a local setup.
