StreamYard’s Help Center lists per-video limits of two hours on Core, four on Advanced, and eight on Teams and Business. Its documentation does not establish a built-in playlist loop or an uninterrupted 24/7 handoff, so StreamYard scheduling alone is not a complete continuous-stream solution.
What StreamYard can—and cannot—do for a 24/7 stream
StreamYard is suited to scheduling a pre-recorded devotional program for a particular start time. According to StreamYard’s “Pre-recorded Streaming” guide, the broadcast starts automatically at that time and ends when the video finishes. Its current documented maximum source-video lengths are:
| StreamYard plan | Maximum pre-recorded video length per broadcast |
|---|---|
| Core | Up to 2 hours |
| Advanced | Up to 4 hours |
| Teams and Business | Up to 8 hours |
These are per-video limits, not a promise that a video will repeat, that scheduled broadcasts will chain without a gap, or that several broadcasts will remain one persistent YouTube live event. The reviewed StreamYard documentation does not establish those continuous-playout capabilities. Confirm the current plan limits before building a schedule around them.
StreamYard separately says that paid plans have no StreamYard-side streaming-hour limit. That does not remove the pre-recorded file-length limits above. Nor does it guarantee a full-length YouTube archive: YouTube says encoder streams under 12 hours are automatically archived, while StreamYard’s destination guidance says YouTube records only the last 12 hours. A continuous broadcast, its YouTube archive, and a StreamYard recording are separate outcomes.

Prepare the channel, music, and stream plan
Clear the rights to every song and recording
Religious or devotional music is not automatically free to livestream. Rights may apply separately to the composition and the specific recording. YouTube’s livestream terms require the channel owner to have the necessary rights, including applicable music licensing and public-performance rights. If a third-party rights holder has licensed the material, ask whether the channel must be allowlisted in Content ID: YouTube warns that a live stream can still be interrupted when a licensed channel has not been allowlisted.
Enable YouTube live streaming ahead of launch
YouTube requires a verified channel with no live-streaming restrictions in the previous 90 days. Initial live-stream activation can take up to 24 hours, so enable it and confirm access well before the scheduled broadcast.

Decide what “24/7” needs to mean for your channel
Before you schedule anything, decide whether you need a finite program at a set time, recurring programs, or one continuously playing live event. Also decide whether you need a YouTube archive, DVR playback, or a separate recording. Do not treat those as interchangeable: the available documentation does not establish full-length archive behavior for a 24/7 event or StreamYard recording/storage capacity for every setup.
Schedule a finite devotional broadcast in StreamYard
- Prepare a rights-cleared video. Assemble the devotional music program into a video that fits the maximum length for your StreamYard plan. Do not assume StreamYard will loop it when it ends.
- Open the pre-recorded workflow. In StreamYard, create or upload the video, then choose Live Stream and Pre-recorded video.
- Choose the YouTube destination. Select the intended destination or destinations. Check that the correct channel is connected before creating the broadcast.
- Set the date, time, and metadata. Enter the scheduled date and time, then add the broadcast details. StreamYard’s supported-platform guidance says pre-recorded streams can be scheduled up to 365 days ahead; this is a scheduling horizon, not evidence of continuous playback.
- Create and verify the broadcast. Review the destination and schedule before creating it. Check the YouTube event and StreamYard setup in advance rather than waiting until the intended start time.
- Monitor the result. At the scheduled time, verify that the broadcast appears on the channel and watch pages, check it on a mobile device, and monitor both audio and video. The scheduled video should end when playback finishes.
If you plan to schedule one finite program after another, treat each as a separate scheduled broadcast unless StreamYard confirms otherwise for your exact setup. The published workflow does not establish gap-free transitions or a single persistent YouTube event across consecutive broadcasts.

For a genuine continuous stream, compare the right things
StreamNeo is the first option to consider for a YouTube stream that should keep playing from uploaded devotional videos: it runs continuously from the cloud, supports uploaded quality up to 4K 60fps at one flat price per slot, and includes a free first day. StreamYard remains useful for its documented finite, scheduled pre-recorded broadcasts, but do not mistake those broadcasts for an automatic 24/7 loop.
Before relying on any continuous-playout setup, verify that it can loop or chain your videos as intended, whether handoffs leave a gap, whether playback remains one YouTube live event, how it recovers from a dropped connection, and what YouTube archive and DVR behavior applies. StreamYard’s documented pre-recorded workflow does not answer those questions for a 24/7 run.

Test the stream and encoder settings
YouTube’s live-streaming guidance recommends testing with audio and motion similar to the planned program, checking the Live Control Room preview before going live, using a reliable network, and leaving upload capacity headroom. These are particularly important for devotional streams where a long quiet passage, a music transition, or a network interruption may otherwise go unnoticed.
- Codec and audio: YouTube’s general encoder guidance lists H.264 video and AAC or MP3 audio.
- Rate control: Use constant bitrate encoding where the chosen encoder supports it.
- Keyframes: Use a two-second keyframe interval; YouTube says it should not exceed four seconds.
- Preview: Confirm the Live Control Room preview has picture and sound before relying on the event.
- Network: Check that available upload capacity is sufficient and leave headroom. A wired Ethernet connection may help in a particular setup, but YouTube’s guidance does not make buying a cable mandatory.
- Failover: If your setup uses a backup encoder, YouTube suggests testing it by stopping the primary encoder or disconnecting its Ethernet cable and confirming playback moves to the backup.
Choose settings your encoder actually supports and test them before a long run; do not assume that a setting in one encoder applies to StreamYard’s pre-recorded workflow.

Protect the stream key and plan for YouTube archives
YouTube describes a stream key as similar to a password and an address for the encoder. Keep it private, and reset it if you believe it has been exposed. Use the key only in the intended streaming service or encoder.
YouTube’s encoder instructions say streams under 12 hours are automatically archived. For a longer-running event, verify archive length, DVR behavior, and how an interruption or restart affects the event for your exact configuration. StreamYard’s own recording limits and storage availability are separate from YouTube’s archive rules; its help guidance lists recording limits of 10 hours for Core, Advanced, and Teams, and 24 hours for Business. Check the current plan and available storage if you need a StreamYard recording.
Troubleshooting common problems
- The video stops before the planned 24 hours: A scheduled pre-recorded StreamYard broadcast ends when its video finishes. Check the source-video length against the plan limit; do not expect an automatic repeat.
- The video is longer than StreamYard accepts: Check the plan’s documented two-, four-, or eight-hour maximum. Split the program into finite segments if appropriate, but do not assume separately scheduled segments will form a seamless loop or one persistent event.
- The broadcast does not start as expected: Confirm that YouTube live streaming is enabled, the right destination is selected, and the scheduled time and event details are correct. Initial channel activation can take up to 24 hours.
- YouTube interrupts a stream containing licensed music: Check that the rights cover the livestream and that the relevant rights holder has allowlisted the channel in Content ID if required. A license alone may not prevent a Content ID interruption.
- The preview has no sound or picture: Test with representative audio and motion, inspect the Live Control Room preview, and verify the encoder’s audio/video settings before the program begins.
- Playback drops during a long run: Check network reliability and upload headroom. If you have a backup encoder, perform YouTube’s suggested failover test rather than assuming the backup will take over.
- The archive is shorter than the stream: Do not infer a full archive from the length of the live event. YouTube’s encoder guidance describes automatic archiving for streams under 12 hours; confirm behavior for longer runs and distinguish YouTube archives from StreamYard recordings.
Or let it run in the cloud
With StreamNeo, upload a recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key once, and go live. It loops uploaded videos from the cloud, so nothing has to stay running on your computer or home connection. Every slot supports the quality you upload up to 4K 60fps at one price, and StreamNeo automatically recovers if YouTube drops the stream. The first day is free with no card. Monthly: $9.99 per month.
StreamNeo is for uploaded-video playback to YouTube, not a camera-based live broadcast. See StreamNeo or start the free first day.
