You can run a 24/7 fireplace stream from an India-based VPS by looping a video through an encoder and sending its feed to YouTube over RTMPS. You need a video you have rights to use, a VPS with suitable network capacity, and a configured YouTube live stream. YouTube’s documentation explains the ingest connection, but does not establish which India VPS provider or plan is best; check a provider’s current bandwidth, compute, storage, location and continuous-workload terms before buying.
How the VPS-to-YouTube setup works
The VPS runs the video playback and encoding process continuously. The encoder sends the resulting live feed to YouTube’s ingestion service using RTMPS, which carries RTMP over an SSL connection. YouTube describes RTMPS as a suitable choice for ordinary user content, particularly where low latency matters. The VPS is not a YouTube server: it is your always-on source, and YouTube receives the stream from it.
YouTube’s LiveStreams API identifies the RTMPS ingestion address and the assigned stream name for a stream resource. The API also exposes a backup ingestion address. Use the address and stream name supplied for your own stream, rather than guessing or reusing an endpoint from another setup. Google’s RTMPS ingestion guide describes the connection requirements; the LiveStreams API reference defines the relevant stream fields.
What to check before choosing an India VPS
There is no provider or plan established here as the right choice for this workload. Compare current provider documentation against the actual video, encoding method and intended run length.

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
- India region: confirm that the provider currently offers a data-center location in India, and check whether that location is available on the plan you are considering.
- Outbound data: verify the included transfer allowance, overage charges, throttling rules and any fair-use limits. A continuous outgoing stream uses network transfer for as long as it runs.
- Compute: determine whether the VPS will encode in real time or pass through an already suitable stream. Real-time encoding needs enough CPU capacity for the selected source and output settings; do not assume a low-cost plan can handle it without checking.
- Storage: allow room for the source video and any local recording you intend to keep. A VPS disk can fill if recordings accumulate.
- Reliability and terms: check network stability, support availability, restart and maintenance policies, and whether the provider permits continuous media streaming.
- Total cost: include the server, outbound traffic, storage and any overage fees in the recurring cost, not just the advertised base plan.
Match resolution, frame rate and encoding choices to the source file and YouTube’s current encoder guidance. The YouTube references linked above establish the RTMPS connection contract, not a tested FFmpeg command, VPS sizing recommendation or complete service configuration. Avoid treating an untested command copied from elsewhere as a guaranteed 24/7 setup.
Configure YouTube and connect the encoder
- Create or schedule a live stream in YouTube Studio. Open the stream’s settings and obtain its stream key and ingestion details. Confirm that the stream is ready to receive an encoder feed before starting the VPS process.
- Use the provided RTMPS connection details. The connection requires the
rtmpsprotocol, a valid YouTube ingestion endpoint and application name, and port443. A wrong endpoint, application name, port or SSL configuration can prevent connection. Follow the endpoint format in YouTube’s current guide rather than assuming a generic RTMP URL. - Set up a looping source and encoder on the VPS. Configure your chosen software to play the fireplace video repeatedly and deliver an encoded feed to the YouTube destination. Set video and audio parameters to suit the source and the current YouTube guidance; test the chosen configuration before relying on it continuously.
- Start the encoder and verify the preview. Check YouTube Studio for an incoming signal and confirm that both picture and sound behave as intended before making the stream public or leaving it unattended.
- Protect the stream key. Treat it like a password: do not publish it, include it in public screenshots, or leave it in a publicly accessible script or log. If it is exposed, replace it in YouTube Studio and update the encoder.
- Make the process recoverable. Configure the VPS and encoder so you can detect a stopped process, restart it, and receive notice of failures. YouTube’s API exposes a backup ingestion address, but selecting it does not by itself restart a failed encoder or guarantee uninterrupted viewing.
Copyright, continuous playback and monetization
Use footage and audio you have the rights to stream
A fireplace ambience loop still contains copyrighted material if someone else owns the video, soundtrack or sound recording. YouTube says all live streams are scanned for matches to third-party content. A match can produce a warning or placeholder image; continued use can lead to temporary interruption or termination. For licensed third-party material, the rights owner may need to add your channel to its Content ID allowlist, and a stream can still be interrupted if it has not been allowlisted. Read YouTube’s guidance on copyright issues with live streams.

YouTube’s livestream terms require the provider to have the rights needed to use the content on Google services, including applicable music rights, and to meet applicable legal and regulatory requirements. Secure rights for the fireplace footage and every music or sound recording in the stream. YouTube’s livestream terms and conditions set out those responsibilities.
Do not count on a complete YouTube archive
YouTube says it can automatically archive a live stream that lasts less than 12 hours. A stream longer than 12 hours may not be captured at all. If you need a complete recording, keep a local recording backup or manage separately planned broadcasts with the archive limitation in mind; ending and restarting a stream is not established as a way to avoid every platform limitation. See YouTube’s archive live streams guidance.

A repeated loop is not assured monetization
YouTube’s channel monetization policies apply to live streams and call for original, authentic content. Repetitive or mass-produced material may be ineligible, and reused-content assessment applies at channel level. Reviewers may consider a channel’s theme, most-viewed and newest videos, share of watch time, metadata and About section. A stock fireplace loop or minimally changed repeat should not be treated as assured YouTube Partner Program-eligible content. Read YouTube’s channel monetization policies.
Troubleshooting common failures
- YouTube receives no signal: check that the encoder is running, the stream key is current, and the URL uses the supplied RTMPS endpoint and application name with port 443. Also check the VPS network and any firewall rules affecting the connection.
- The connection fails with an SSL or protocol error: confirm that the encoder is using RTMPS rather than plain RTMP, that SSL is enabled as required, and that the endpoint and port match YouTube’s instructions.
- The feed starts, then stops: inspect encoder and VPS logs, CPU and memory use, disk space, network stability and transfer limits. Check whether the source file or playback process reached its end instead of looping.
- The live stream is interrupted for a rights match: stop using the disputed footage or audio unless you have the necessary rights. If licensed content is involved, resolve the issue with the rights owner, including any Content ID allowlisting required for the channel.
- The archive is missing or incomplete: check the broadcast duration and keep a separate local recording when a complete copy matters. Streams exceeding 12 hours may not be captured by YouTube.
- The VPS bill is higher than expected: review outbound transfer usage, overages, storage growth and any throttling or fair-use terms, then reassess the plan against the actual stream.
Or let it run in the cloud
If you would rather not maintain a VPS and encoder, StreamNeo runs uploaded videos as 24/7 YouTube streams from the cloud. Upload a recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key, and go live. Nothing has to stay switched on at home; it streams the uploaded quality up to 4K 60fps at one price per slot, with automatic recovery if YouTube drops the stream. The first day is free with no card. Monthly pricing is $9.99 per month. StreamNeo streams to YouTube only and plays uploaded videos rather than going live from a camera. Start your free day on StreamNeo.
