You can run a Hindi news clips playlist continuously by feeding a sequential set of prepared video files into FFmpeg and sending its output to a YouTube Live encoder stream. First confirm the channel can livestream, check that you have permission to rebroadcast every clip, and test the playlist and stream before leaving it unattended. One important limit: YouTube says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived, so do not assume a single 24/7 broadcast will produce a complete replay.
Before you start: rights, channel access, and a test plan
FFmpeg can encode and send files; it cannot grant permission to rebroadcast them. Check rights for each clip, including footage, music, graphics, and material embedded in a news package. A successful YouTube feed is not evidence that you have the rights to its contents.
YouTube requires a verified channel with no livestreaming restrictions in the previous 90 days. Enable livestreaming, then create or schedule an encoder stream in YouTube Studio’s Live Control Room. Eligibility and setup details are in YouTube’s livestreaming help and encoder setup instructions.
- Have FFmpeg installed on a computer or server that can remain connected for the intended broadcast.
- Keep a copy of the original clips and a record of their source, rights, duration, and intended sequence.
- Run a short test first. Check clip transitions, audio, synchronization, stream health, and the YouTube preview before scheduling a long session.
- Decide how you will detect and respond to process exits, network interruptions, frozen video, or missing audio. A basic FFmpeg process does not supervise itself or guarantee recovery from every failure.
Prepare the Hindi clips as a sequential playlist
FFmpeg’s concat demuxer can read a list of files in order, but it is not a universal fix for mismatched media. Inputs work best when their stream properties are compatible. Clips with different codecs, dimensions, frame rates, or audio layouts may need to be normalized or handled with an encoding and filter pipeline appropriate to the files.

Create a playlist file
For compatible files, create a plain-text concat-demuxer list, with one file entry per line. For example, save this as playlist.txt and replace the sample names with paths to your clips:

file '/media/news/clip-003.mp4'Use paths that the machine running FFmpeg can access. Test the list with a short run and inspect transitions, audio, and the end of the sequence. Consult the installed version’s documentation for the exact syntax and options you use: the FFmpeg command documentation describes its input/output pipeline, and the FFmpeg protocol documentation covers concatenating resources. Compatibility cautions are also reflected in an FFmpeg-user discussion dated September 22, 2024.

Loop the sequence deliberately
Choose a looping method that matches your installed FFmpeg version and playlist approach. There is no single safe copy-and-paste command for arbitrary news clips: input codecs, frame rates, resolutions, audio presence, and output choices all affect the required options. Validate the command against your local FFmpeg documentation, then test at least one full pass and the transition from the final clip back to the first before relying on an unattended feed.
Create the YouTube encoder stream and protect its key
- In YouTube Studio, open Create and select Go live to reach Live Control Room.
- Create or schedule a stream and choose the encoder workflow.
- Copy the ingest URL and stream key displayed for that stream. Use the current values from Live Control Room rather than an old saved destination.
- Keep the key private. Do not place it in public scripts, screenshots, source repositories, or tutorial text. Store it in a protected environment or secret store; reset it in YouTube if you believe it has been exposed.
- Connect FFmpeg, check the incoming preview and stream health, and only then start or publish the event as appropriate for the stream setup.
YouTube’s encoder instructions explain connecting with the stream URL and key. The exact Live Control Room labels and available controls can change, so follow the interface shown for your account.

Configure FFmpeg for YouTube Live
Send the playlist to the ingest destination shown in Live Control Room, using output codecs and settings supported by YouTube and by your installed FFmpeg build. YouTube recommends RTMPS for encrypted ingest, constant bitrate encoding, and a two-second keyframe interval; it says the keyframe interval should not exceed four seconds. Check the current YouTube live encoder settings for supported codecs and values before choosing resolution, frame rate, and bitrate.
- Transport: Prefer the RTMPS ingest URL when supported by your FFmpeg build.
- Video and audio: Select supported codecs and ensure every input produces the audio and video streams expected by your output. Silent clips or changing audio layouts require particular attention.
- Rate control and keyframes: Use CBR and a two-second keyframe interval, staying within YouTube’s stated four-second maximum recommendation.
- Resolution, frame rate, and bitrate: Choose for the source material, target stream quality, and reliable upload capacity. A bitrate that exceeds stable upstream bandwidth can cause dropped frames or a poor stream-health status.
- Stream key handling: Supply the key without exposing it in material other people can access. Avoid publishing a command containing a real key.
The right command depends on the clips and FFmpeg build; an unqualified universal command can fail or produce broken transitions. Label and verify any command you adopt for its codecs, resolution, frame rate, audio assumptions, and placeholder key. Test the actual output on YouTube before leaving it running.

Keep the broadcast running and plan replays
A 24/7 operation needs a way to notice and respond to FFmpeg exits, network problems, frozen or silent output, and YouTube stream-health alerts. Decide in advance who or what will check the stream, how the process will be restarted, and how you will confirm that a reconnect has restored the preview. YouTube’s live streaming tips recommend testing and monitoring stream quality; a command alone does not configure supervision, alerting, or an archive workflow.
YouTube says encoder streams under 12 hours are automatically archived. For a 24/7 playlist, treat a complete replay as a separate planning requirement: consider shorter scheduled sessions if you need automatic archives, or separately record and manage the output using a workflow suited to your channel. Confirm current behavior in Live Control Room before publishing, rather than promising a full replay of one continuous session.

Understand rights and monetization separately from the technical setup
YouTube’s monetization policies apply to livestreams. Its channel monetization policy page notes a clarification dated July 15, 2025: it renamed the “repetitious content” policy “inauthentic content” and clarified that repetitive or mass-produced content is included. A playlist consisting mainly of other publishers’ clips may raise copyright and reused-content issues; a technically continuous stream does not settle either question. Add meaningful original reporting, context, curation, or presentation where appropriate, and secure the necessary rights. Neither originality nor monetization approval can be guaranteed for a particular channel. See YouTube channel monetization policies.
YouTube lists live ads, Super Chat and Super Stickers, and memberships among possible live revenue features. Monetization requires an eligible channel and enabled settings, and YouTube says ad slots are not guaranteed to serve. Stream duration alone is not a reliable basis for forecasting revenue. Troubleshooting common problems
- YouTube does not receive the stream: Check that the ingest URL and key match the active Live Control Room stream, that the key has not been reset, and that the destination is reachable from the host. Recheck the preview before going live.
- Concat input fails or clips play incorrectly: Check file paths and playlist syntax, then compare codecs, dimensions, frame rates, and audio layouts. Normalize incompatible media or use a pipeline that handles those differences; do not assume a concat list makes unlike files compatible.
- Video or audio is missing at transitions: Test each clip and the joins. Check that inputs consistently provide the streams your output expects, including audio, and adjust the filter/encoding workflow for clips that differ.
- Stream health is poor or frames drop: Confirm the selected bitrate fits dependable upload bandwidth, and verify the encoder settings against YouTube’s current recommendations. Check the host’s connection and YouTube’s stream-health feedback.
- The stream stops after running unattended: Inspect FFmpeg output, host availability, network continuity, and YouTube alerts. Add process supervision and a notification/restart procedure appropriate to your host; do not treat reconnect behavior as guaranteed unless you have tested it.
- The full day is not available as a replay: A continuous session beyond YouTube’s stated under-12-hour auto-archive condition should not be assumed to have a complete automatic archive. Plan shorter sessions or a separate recording and archive workflow.
- A clip receives a claim or monetization is limited: Recheck rights for all embedded material and review YouTube’s current copyright and monetization policies. Changing the encoder settings does not resolve a rights or reused-content issue.
