You can keep Marathi children’s stories scheduled around the clock by sending a prepared, rights-cleared programme to YouTube through an encoder and restarting it in shorter sessions. Do not depend on one broadcast lasting 24 hours: YouTube says a stream longer than 12 hours may not be archived at all. Set the audience accurately as Made for Kids when the stories are directed to children, and plan the stream around the features that setting disables.
What you need before you start
- A YouTube channel that is verified and has had no live-streaming restriction in the previous 90 days. See YouTube’s live-streaming eligibility and setup guidance.
- An encoder—software or hardware that sends your audio and video programme to YouTube. YouTube describes encoder streaming as suitable for prepared visuals, overlays and external audio or video equipment. The encoder is the do-it-yourself method described below.
- A stable, continuously available computer and internet connection for a local encoder setup, plus someone or a monitoring plan to notice interruptions.
- Marathi story recordings and visual material you are entitled to use for a public livestream and any resulting archive.
YouTube’s live-streaming tips advise configuring the encoder at least two hours before a scheduled event, starting it at least 15 minutes ahead, checking the Live Control Room preview, and verifying that local archive files are growing. Treat these as operational recommendations, not a guarantee of uninterrupted service.
Clear rights for every part of the programme
Before preparing a playlist, check the rights in each element—not just the story title. A story’s text, a Marathi translation or adaptation, the narrator’s performance, music, illustrations, video, and the recording itself can involve distinct protected works. India’s Copyright Act covers literary, dramatic, musical, artistic, film and sound-recording works; its definition of communication to the public includes making a work available to the public by diffusion. The Act’s limited exceptions, such as provisions concerning reasonable extracts, are not blanket permission to stream full stories. Read the relevant provisions in the Copyright Act, Chapter I and Chapter XI, and get appropriate permission for your planned use. This is general information, not legal advice.
YouTube scans live streams for third-party content. If it identifies material, a placeholder may replace the programme; if the material remains, YouTube may temporarily interrupt or terminate the stream. A licence does not necessarily prevent an interruption: YouTube advises asking the rights holder to add your channel to its Content ID allowlist. Set the stream up in YouTube Studio
- Open Live Control Room. In YouTube Studio, select Create → Go live. Complete the stream’s information and choose its privacy setting. YouTube’s live-streaming guide covers channel eligibility and available broadcast methods.
- Set the audience accurately. In Live Control Room, use the Audience setting to designate the stream as Made for Kids if it is directed to children. YouTube’s factors include the intended audience, subject matter, language, and whether the content includes children’s stories or poems. Its guidance says not to rely on automated classification to set the audience; the creator is responsible for the designation. YouTube says live-stream audience selection must be made in Live Control Room rather than Classic live-streaming tools.
- Connect the encoder. Use the stream connection details provided for the event in YouTube Studio to connect your encoder, then load the prepared story presentation and audio. Keep the stream key private; anyone with access to it may be able to send a stream to your channel. The research for this article does not establish one bitrate, resolution or keyframe interval for every encoder and programme. Use the current, encoder-specific recommendations in YouTube’s live-streaming tips rather than copying a setting that may not fit your output.
- Check the programme before viewers arrive. Start the encoder, wait for the preview in Live Control Room, and verify that the video and narration are present and in sync. Listen for clipping, silence and unwanted background audio; check that story transitions do not leave long black frames or accidental gaps. If you are recording locally, verify that the local file is being written and continues to grow.
- Schedule the first session with a buffer. YouTube advises starting the encoder at least 15 minutes before a scheduled event. Use that time to check the preview and correct connection or content problems before the public start.
Make a 24/7 schedule without relying on a 24-hour archive
“24/7” is a viewing schedule, not a promise that one YouTube broadcast can run indefinitely or be archived in full. YouTube says streams longer than 12 hours may not be captured at all. If keeping an archive matters, plan distinct sessions shorter than 12 hours and make a separate local recording as a backup. See YouTube’s live-stream archive guidance.
- Divide the daily schedule into shorter broadcast sessions, leaving time between them to stop one event and start the next.
- For each session, create or schedule the event in Live Control Room, connect the encoder, and check its preview before the start.
- At each planned handoff, confirm the outgoing session has ended and the next event is receiving the intended programme. Do not assume that a single event will roll into another automatically.
- Keep a local recording where practical, then check that the file is complete and playable. A growing file during the stream is useful evidence of recording activity, but it is not a substitute for checking the finished recording.
- Keep a person or a monitoring plan responsible for checking the encoder, audio, video, network continuity and session transitions. YouTube recommends testing encoder failover and checking local archive integrity; neither removes the need to monitor the broadcast.
Made for Kids livestreams do not have live chat, so do not build the operating plan around chat-based requests, moderation or interaction. For an around-the-clock schedule, also decide who will notice a failed session and start the next one; continuous playback is not the same as guaranteed uptime.

What Made for Kids changes
Marathi stories intentionally presented to children are likely to be Made for Kids. YouTube’s guidance specifically identifies children’s stories or poems, language, subject matter and intended audience as relevant factors. Make the designation based on the content, not on whether children are the only people who might watch it.
YouTube lists live chat and live chat donations, comments, notifications, personalized advertising, Super Chat and Super Stickers among features unavailable on Made for Kids content. Do not rely on those tools for audience engagement or revenue. YouTube also says monetization depends on programme eligibility and review. Its help page lists ad-revenue eligibility as 1,000 subscribers plus either 4,000 qualified public watch hours on long-form videos in the last 365 days or 10 million qualified Shorts views in the last 90 days; Made for Kids status also affects access to features such as memberships and Shopping. These platform terms can change, so check YouTube’s current monetization guidance before planning around them. Those thresholds are eligibility criteria, not a prediction of audience size or earnings.
