You can stream recorded IIT foundation lessons to YouTube through an encoder, but a single stream running continuously for 24 hours is a poor choice if you need a YouTube replay: YouTube says streams longer than 12 hours may not be captured. Build the schedule from shorter sessions, keep local recordings, and plan for monitoring, rights checks, and recovery. For a computer-free option, StreamNeo can loop uploaded videos to YouTube from the cloud.

What you need before you start

Prepare the channel and the lesson material before creating a schedule.

  • A verified YouTube channel: YouTube requires channel verification and no live-streaming restrictions in the previous 90 days. First-time live streaming can take up to 24 hours to become available. Check the current eligibility details in YouTube’s live-streaming guide.
  • Recorded lessons you have the right to broadcast: Check the lecture video, instructor audio, board writing, slides, music, graphics, and any third-party clips. Permission to use material does not by itself guarantee that the channel will qualify for monetization.
  • A playback sequence: Put the recordings in the order students should watch them. Check that each file plays properly and that its audio is audible throughout.
  • A stable upload connection and an operating plan: Someone should be able to respond if the encoder, playback, audio, or connection fails.

Running an encoder feed is not blanket approval for every 24/7 prerecorded format. Follow YouTube’s live-stream rules and policies, and do not imply that a stream is an interactive live class if it is a loop of recordings.

How to start the recorded lessons stream with an encoder

  1. Open YouTube Studio and create the broadcast. Choose Create → Go live, then create a stream or schedule one. For the official encoder workflow, see Create a YouTube live stream with an encoder.
  2. Connect your encoder. Copy the YouTube server URL and stream key into the encoder software or hardware. Treat the stream key like a password: anyone who has it can send a feed to your channel. Keep it private and reset it if it is exposed.
  3. Set up lesson playback. Configure the encoder to play the recorded lessons in sequence or as a playlist. Confirm the intended order, transitions, picture, and sound before broadcasting.
  4. Start sending the feed, then inspect the preview. Start the encoder and wait for the video to appear in YouTube Live Control Room. Check that the correct recording is playing and that audio and video are both present.
  5. Start the broadcast. Once the preview is correct, start the stream in Live Control Room. Verify the public live page on the kinds of devices your students use.
  6. Test the full handoff. Before launch, run a private or unlisted test that includes the end of one recording and the beginning of the next. Confirm the schedule, audio, playback, and any restart or session transition.

YouTube supports both software encoders and hardware encoders. Software avoids dedicated encoding hardware, but the computer, encoder software, power, and network must remain available. A hardware encoder can suit a managed broadcast setup; verify its playback automation, restart behavior, monitoring, and failover capabilities with its maker rather than assuming a particular device is suitable for unattended looping.

  • Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
  • 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.

Plan sessions around YouTube’s archive and DVR limits

Do not make one uninterrupted 24-hour session the plan if viewers need a YouTube replay. YouTube says streams shorter than 12 hours may be automatically archived, recommends keeping a local recording, and warns that streams longer than 12 hours may not be captured at all. See YouTube’s archive guidance.

  • Break the daily schedule into broadcast sessions shorter than 12 hours.
  • Record a local backup so you have a copy if the platform archive is missing or you need to restore or edit the lesson sequence.
  • Test the transition between sessions before publishing the schedule. Put session times or the next block’s start time in the title or description so students can find the continuation.
  • Do not promise viewers unlimited pause-and-rewind access while the stream is live. YouTube says DVR may be limited or unavailable on very long streams, including streams longer than 12 hours. See YouTube’s DVR guidance.

Monitor the stream and prepare for failures

A 24/7 schedule still needs monitoring and a recovery plan. YouTube recommends upload bandwidth with 20% headroom above the total stream bitrate, preview checks, and monitoring the audio and video. A connectivity disruption can break the stream. Its streaming tips explain the platform’s guidance.

  • After launch, verify the stream page on the devices students use, not only in the encoder preview.

Handle copyright and monetization as separate checks

Copyright can interrupt a live stream

YouTube scans live streams for third-party content. A match may replace the stream image with a placeholder, trigger a warning, interrupt the feed, or lead to termination if the content remains. YouTube also says a licensed rights holder may need to add your channel to its Content ID allowlist; a license alone may not prevent an interruption. Review YouTube’s live-stream copyright guidance.

Permission does not settle monetization eligibility

YouTube’s monetization policies apply to live streams, and reused-content review is assessed at the channel level. Having permission—or having no copyright claim—does not establish monetization eligibility. Make the educational work recognizably yours: identify the instructor and creator, provide original explanation, and make the lessons’ educational purpose clear in the stream presentation and channel descriptions. See YouTube’s channel monetization policies.
