This guide treats “Astra Streaming” as Astra Streaming Studio when discussing the app. Confirm the app version and its current settings on your Android device before relying on it for a broadcast. The available information does not establish YouTube-specific validation, unattended operation, uptime guarantees, or automatic recovery for Astra Streaming Studio.
Clear the bhajans and recordings before you schedule a stream
YouTube’s livestream terms require you to have the necessary rights to exploit the live content on Google services, including music licensing rights from artists, record labels, publishers and other royalty participants. The terms expressly include rights “throughout the world.” A bhajan may be traditional or devotional, but a particular arrangement, performance or recording can still have rights attached to it.

Make a rights inventory
- List every track and the exact recording you intend to broadcast. Do not treat the title of a bhajan as proof that a recording is free to use.
- Identify the relevant rights holders for the composition and for the sound recording. Rights can differ between an underlying work and a particular performance or recording.
- Obtain written permission that covers the intended use: YouTube, the relevant territories, the term, continuous live streaming, monetization if intended, and any recording or archive you plan to retain.
- Keep the permission and track list together so you can show which material is covered. This is prudent operational documentation, not a universal statutory form.
- For the exact works, recordings, territories and operating circumstances, verify the permission with the rights holders and, where needed, qualified local counsel. The applicable India-specific requirements are not resolved by a general checklist.
Ask for Content ID allowlisting as well as permission
Licensing and YouTube Content ID allowlisting are separate practical steps. YouTube scans live streams for third-party content. Its guidance warns that a live stream can still be interrupted when licensed material matches Content ID if the rights holder has not allowlisted the channel. Ask the relevant rights owner to allowlist your channel and the covered material before you go live, and retain confirmation. A test stream using cleared material can help check the technical setup, but it cannot prove that every track is licensed or allowlisted.
Check YouTube eligibility before building a continuous schedule
YouTube’s live-streaming guidance says the channel must be verified, must not have had a live-streaming restriction in the preceding 90 days, and the person livestreaming must be at least 16. YouTube lists mobile, webcam, encoder and console as streaming methods. An encoder is the route suited to external hardware and overlays; these eligibility checks do not guarantee uninterrupted 24/7 operation.

- Check the channel’s current live-stream restrictions and the account’s current eligibility in YouTube Studio.
- Choose a method that can sustain the program and that you can monitor and recover if the device, network or stream fails.
Plan the broadcast around continuity, not just the start button
A phone app, a computer encoder and a managed cloud playout service raise different operational questions. The available information establishes that YouTube supports encoder streaming and that Astra Streaming Studio lists SRT and RTMP/RTSP capabilities; it does not establish comparative performance or 24/7 uptime for any of these options.
- Unattended continuity: Can the chosen setup keep playing without someone tapping the phone or restarting a failed app?

- Confirm the product and version. Install or open Astra Streaming Studio on the Android device you intend to use, and confirm its publisher and app version. Do not substitute DataStax Astra Streaming; it is an event-streaming service, not this mobile video app.
- Enable YouTube live streaming. Verify the channel in advance, confirm it has no current live-stream restriction, and check eligibility before the scheduled launch.
- Clear the playlist. Complete the track and recording rights inventory, obtain the required permissions, and ask the relevant rights holders to allowlist the channel and covered material.
- Check the app’s current output options. Confirm its available protocol, encoding and destination settings against the configuration you will use with YouTube. The Google Play listing names H.264/AAC and SRT and RTMP/RTSP, but does not establish a tested YouTube profile or values for resolution, bitrate or keyframe interval.
- Test with cleared content. Make a short private or otherwise appropriately restricted technical test, using only material already cleared. - Decide about archives. If you plan to save or publish a replay, confirm that the permissions cover that use and check YouTube’s current handling and limits for the format you choose.
Monetization is a separate eligibility and policy question
YouTube’s Partner Program page lists standard eligibility routes of 1,000 subscribers plus 4,000 qualified public watch hours in the previous 12 months, or 1,000 subscribers plus 10 million qualified Shorts views in the previous 90 days. Meeting a threshold does not by itself guarantee acceptance: YouTube reviews applications against its policies. A continuous schedule is not a promise of approval or income, and rights clearance remains a separate requirement.
YouTube’s Partner Program guidance also announces updated terms effective February 1, 2027, with acceptance required by January 31, 2027. Common problems and what to check
- The broadcast is blocked or interrupted after music starts: stop and identify the matched material. Confirm both the scope of your license and whether the rights holder has allowlisted the channel; permission alone may not prevent a Content ID interruption.
- The app’s protocol appears compatible, but the YouTube stream does not connect: verify the current destination details and stream configuration in YouTube and in the app version you are using. The app listing’s protocol support does not certify a particular YouTube configuration.
- The stream drops while unattended: check device power, the local internet connection, app state and YouTube status; then follow the recovery procedure assigned to the operator. The available Astra listing does not establish automatic recovery or continuous uptime.
