You can run recorded GTA gameplay as a YouTube live stream by looping a video file through an encoder such as OBS, connecting that encoder to a YouTube Studio live broadcast, and keeping the computer and internet connection running. For a stream that must stay online around the clock, a cloud service is another option. Neither method guarantees a complete 24-hour replay, monetization, or permission to use every part of the recording commercially. Check YouTube’s live-stream eligibility, Rockstar’s policy, and the recording’s audio before you start.
Before you set up the stream
Confirm your channel can go live
YouTube says a channel must be verified, have no live-streaming restriction in the preceding 90 days, and be operated by someone at least 16 years old to live stream. First-time activation may require setup, so confirm live access in YouTube Studio before planning a launch; no guaranteed activation time is established in the available guidance. YouTube’s encoder workflow is intended for formats including gameplay and overlays. See YouTube’s live-streaming eligibility and setup guidance.
Assess the rights and monetization risks
YouTube says monetization of video-game content depends on the commercial-use rights granted by the publisher. Its guidance warns: “Videos simply showing a user playing a video game or the use of software for extended periods of time may not be accepted for monetization.” Commentary that explains what is happening and adds instructional or educational value may help, but a voice track alone does not make a repetitive loop eligible. YouTube also reviews channels for reused and inauthentic or repetitive content, so a rights permission by itself does not settle channel-level monetization eligibility. Read YouTube’s policy on video-game and software content and its channel monetization policies.
Rockstar’s posting policy welcomes gameplay uploads but frames its general non-objection around non-commercial use and describes the policy as covering occasional, non-commercial fan use. It says: “Generally, Take-Two Interactive does not object to our fans using materials for non-commercial uses in a manner which does not intentionally spoil the plot for others.” That wording is not affirmative clearance for continuous commercial streaming; Rockstar also reserves the right to remove copyrighted material. Review the actual recording
Check the full video for embedded music and other third-party material, not just the opening minutes. YouTube scans live streams for third-party content; a match can replace the stream with a placeholder, interrupt it, or terminate it. If the broadcast is archived, a Content ID claim may follow after it ends. See YouTube’s guidance on copyright issues with live streams.
Run the stream yourself with an encoder
This approach uses your own computer, encoder, and internet connection. YouTube’s instructions support the encoder workflow, but do not promise that any setup will operate uninterrupted for 24 hours.

- Verify access. In YouTube Studio, confirm the channel is eligible and live streaming is enabled. Allow time for any first-time setup and check that the live controls are available.
- Create the broadcast in YouTube Studio. Open the live control workflow, choose an encoder stream, and set the title, audience, visibility, and other broadcast details accurately. Choose an appropriate game/category where available. Copy the stream setup details into your encoder, and keep the stream key private: anyone with access to it may be able to broadcast to your channel.
- Load the GTA recording in OBS or another encoder. Add the file as a media source. Enable looping only if you intend the file to repeat, and check the encoder’s behavior at the end of the file so playback resumes as intended. Confirm that game audio and any narration are captured at usable levels.
- Connect and test before going public. Enter the stream setup information from Studio in your encoder, start the encoder, and check the Studio preview and stream status. Confirm picture, audio, and playback before making the broadcast public. A short private or unlisted test can help reveal configuration problems, but it does not establish copyright permission or monetization eligibility.
- Plan for continuous local operation. The computer, encoder, and internet connection must remain available. Monitor stream health and decide how you will restart the encoder or broadcast if either stops. A UPS may bridge a short power interruption, depending on connected load and runtime; it will not keep an internet connection online.
- Choose an archive plan. YouTube’s live-production guidance says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived. Do not promise viewers a complete replay from a single 24-hour session. If replay matters, consider local recording and planned shorter broadcast sessions, and recheck Studio guidance before publishing because platform behavior can change.

Common problems and what to check
- Studio does not offer live streaming: verify the channel, age eligibility, and whether a live-stream restriction occurred in the preceding 90 days. Complete any first-time setup and confirm access before scheduling.
- Encoder connects but Studio shows no usable preview: check the stream key and setup details, confirm the encoder is sending, and inspect the selected file source and audio inputs. Keep the key private; replace it in Studio if it has been exposed.
- The recording stops at the end: verify the media source’s loop setting and end-of-file behavior in the encoder. Test the transition before broadcasting publicly.
- The live stream is interrupted or replaced: check Studio alerts and review the recording for third-party music or other material. YouTube may interrupt a live broadcast when its systems identify third-party content; remove or resolve problematic material before attempting another broadcast.
- The 24-hour session has no complete replay: YouTube’s guidance only says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived. Use local recording and planned shorter sessions if retaining a complete replay is important.
- A monetization decision is negative: review both publisher commercial-use rights and YouTube’s rules on extended gameplay and repetitive or reused content. Repeated footage with little original contribution may create channel-level risk even if you have addressed rights separately.
India-specific considerations
The available platform and publisher guidance does not establish whether a particular 24/7 GTA broadcast meets every Indian legal, licensing, copyright, tax, or business requirement. YouTube requires creators to meet applicable territorial requirements, but that is not a determination of which Indian rules apply to your case. Do not present the setup steps as legal clearance. If you plan to monetize a continuous broadcast, get rights clarification or qualified advice suited to your circumstances.
