To run Tamil church worship videos continuously on YouTube with OBS, loop a local video or playlist in an OBS scene, then separately connect OBS to an active YouTube Live broadcast and start streaming. First, confirm that you have permission to rebroadcast every recording, song, lyric, and visual—and to keep an archive if you plan to leave one. A worship setting does not itself grant those rights.
Before you stream: clear the rights to every item
Check the rights for each video and its contents: the musical composition, performance, sound recording, lyrics, and visuals. Permission to stream a church’s live performance does not automatically cover a prerecorded commercial recording or video. Confirm that your permissions cover public live streaming and, if you intend to keep the broadcast available, an archived or on-demand copy. Rights depend on the repertoire, rightsholders, territory, and your church’s licenses; confirm the applicable terms with the relevant rights holders or licensing body. United Methodist guidance and Presbyterian resources explain useful general distinctions, but do not establish permission for your particular Tamil songs or church.
Loop one video or a playlist in OBS
One local video: Media Source
- Open OBS and select the scene you want to use, or create a new scene.
- In the Sources box, add a Media Source and choose the local video file.
- Enable the source’s Loop option, then check that the picture and audio play correctly.
Several local videos: playlist-capable source
- Add a VLC Video Source to the scene and add the video files in the order you want them played.
- Enable playlist looping, then preview the scene to check the sequence, transitions between files, picture, and sound.
These source names and steps follow a third-party workflow guide. OBS menus and source behavior can vary by installed version, so verify the available options in your copy of OBS. Looping a source only repeats media inside OBS; it does not start a YouTube broadcast.
Connect OBS to YouTube Live and start the broadcast
- In YouTube Studio, create or select the Live broadcast you intend to use. Confirm that your channel can go live and that the broadcast is ready to receive a stream.
- Connect OBS to that broadcast using the stream connection details and workflow shown in your current YouTube Studio and OBS interfaces. Keep your stream key private; anyone with access to it may be able to send video to your channel.
- In OBS, start streaming. Check YouTube Studio to confirm that it is receiving the intended picture and audio before relying on the stream to run continuously.
- While live, monitor YouTube Studio for warnings, interruptions, or changes to the broadcast. The exact eligibility steps and button labels can change. An OBS community guide last updated in 2021 describes an earlier flow, so use the current interfaces rather than relying on its old account-eligibility details. OBS community guide
Understand copyright interruptions and archives

- A match can replace the stream picture with a placeholder and trigger a warning. If the matched material remains, YouTube may interrupt or terminate the stream.
- Even if you have a license, a stream may be interrupted if the rightsholder has not allowlisted your channel. Confirm any required channel allowlisting with the rightsholder.
- If you keep the live broadcast as an archive, YouTube says Content ID claims may be made after the stream ends. Verify that your permissions also cover that on-demand use.
Common problems and what to check
- The video repeats in OBS, but YouTube is not live: Source looping and broadcasting are separate. Confirm OBS is connected to an active YouTube Live broadcast and that you started streaming.
- The picture or audio is missing: Preview the OBS scene and check the selected file, source, and audio playback before going live.
- The playlist does not advance or repeat as expected: Check the playlist order and loop setting, then verify that the installed OBS version supports the selected source behavior.
- YouTube shows a copyright warning or interrupts the stream: Check the matched material and contact the relevant rightsholder. A license may not prevent interruption if the channel needs to be allowlisted.
- The live broadcast is available, but its archive receives a claim: Review whether your permission includes archived or on-demand use; live permission alone may not cover it.
Or let it run in the cloud
If you want the prerecorded program to continue without leaving a home computer running, StreamNeo is a cloud service for keeping a YouTube channel live from uploaded videos. Upload your recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key once, and go live. Nothing has to stay on at home; it streams the uploaded quality up to 4K 60fps at one flat price per slot, and it automatically recovers if YouTube drops the stream. The first day is free with no card. Monthly pricing is $9.99 per month. This does not clear music or video rights: confirm your permissions before streaming. Start a free day with StreamNeo.
