There is no single run button that works in every Roblox experience. Open the in-game Help panel to see the controls for the experience you are playing; its instructions may show a keyboard key, controller input, or mobile gesture—or no run action at all.
Check the controls for your current experience
Roblox says that controls and mechanics vary between experiences. While playing, open the Roblox menu and select Help. The panel shows the current experience’s keyboard shortcuts, mouse instructions, or mobile gestures. Look there for a control labeled run, sprint, or a similar action. How to find the run control on each device
Computer
- Start the Roblox experience.
- Open the in-game Roblox menu and select Help.
- Check the listed keyboard and mouse controls for movement or sprinting, then use the input shown for that experience.
Do not assume that a key such as Shift will make your character run: Roblox does not specify one keyboard key that applies to every experience.
Phone or tablet
- Open the experience’s page in Roblox and tap Play to launch it. This starts the experience; it does not itself make your character run.
- Once you are playing, use the on-screen movement controls and open Help to check which gestures the experience supports.

PlayStation
- Press Options to open the Roblox menu.
- Press R1 to reach the Help tab.
- Check the displayed controller map and follow the input for movement or sprinting in that experience.

The experience may not offer a separate run command, or it may use a context-specific mechanic. Check the experience’s own instructions or ask its creator if the Help panel does not explain how movement works. There is no universal Roblox setting or key that can be relied on to enable running across experiences.
