You can run three scheduled YouTube livestreams from one Indian VPS by running a separate encoder or relay process for each channel, with that channel’s own scheduled broadcast, stream configuration, and private stream key. Before choosing a server, add the three outbound bitrates together and check the exact India-region transfer allowance; if the VPS encodes the video, also test that it can handle all three jobs at once. No VPS size is established as sufficient without measuring your actual workload.
Choose what the VPS will do
A VPS can either encode source media into three live feeds or relay feeds that have already been encoded elsewhere. Both approaches still send three continuous outputs from the VPS to YouTube, so neither removes the outbound bandwidth requirement. Their main difference is the server workload.
Encode all three feeds on the VPS
In this setup, the VPS reads each channel’s source media, decodes it as needed, and encodes a separate outgoing stream for each scheduled broadcast. Assess simultaneous CPU or GPU capacity, media storage and decoding, memory use, and network stability. The needed resources depend on the source files and chosen output settings; the available documentation does not establish a universally adequate instance size.
Relay pre-encoded feeds
If another machine or upstream service produces the feeds, the VPS can forward them to YouTube. This can reduce encoding work on the VPS, but the server still has to transmit each destination feed, and its network must remain stable. There is no documented benchmark establishing where relay becomes preferable to VPS encoding, so compare the two with your own sources and measure all three running together.

Keep the channels separate
These are three distinct channel outputs, not one channel’s stream sent to three destinations. Google’s YouTube API documentation says that managing multiple channels requires a different stream for each channel. Give each process the correct channel’s stream URL and key; do not assume that one key represents three channels. Keep keys private, out of public scripts and screenshots, and out of source repositories.
Plan transfer before selecting a VPS

Monthly transfer in decimal GB ≈ bitrate in Mbps × 0.45 × hours per day × days per month
At 24 hours a day for 30 days, one stream uses approximately its bitrate multiplied by 324 GB. For three equal streams, multiply that figure by three. For example, three feeds at 4 Mbps each would use about 3,888 GB, or 3.9 TB decimal, over 30 days, before protocol overhead and any other traffic. This is a conversion-based estimate, not a measurement. Use each feed’s actual configured bitrate, including audio, and leave headroom for overhead and traffic the provider also counts.

Check the India-region allowance and overage terms
AWS Lightsail provides one comparison example, not a recommendation. Its standard bundle table lists a Linux Medium plan with 2 vCPUs, 4 GB memory, 80 GB storage, and 4 TB data transfer. AWS says Mumbai plans receive half the allowance shown in standard bundle tables, which would make that listed allowance 2 TB for Mumbai if the adjustment applies to the selected plan. AWS lists India/Mumbai outbound overage at USD 0.13 per GB above allowance. AWS documentation accessed in 2026 gives these figures; confirm the current bundle and regional terms at checkout.
Do not infer that the example plan is sufficient because an estimate appears close to a displayed allowance. Actual configured bitrates, protocol overhead, provider traffic-counting rules, region-specific limits, and—in an encoding setup—CPU load all affect the decision. Do not plan to run at the allowance ceiling.

Selection checklist
- Decide whether the VPS will encode the media or relay pre-encoded feeds.
- Choose the target resolution, frame rate, codec, and bitrate separately for each channel.
- Add the three sustained outbound bitrates, then estimate their monthly transfer.
- Check the exact region’s allowance and overage rules, including the Mumbai adjustment if relevant.
- Test CPU, memory, network stability, and YouTube stream health with all three outputs running at the same time.
- Allow headroom and configure cost alerts before relying on unattended operation.
Prepare the channels and scheduled broadcasts
- Enable live streaming on each channel in advance. YouTube Help says first-time live-stream enablement may take up to 24 hours. Verify it separately for all three channels before the planned start.
- Create and schedule a broadcast for each channel in YouTube Studio. Sign in to the correct channel, open the live-stream creation workflow, and create or select the stream configuration for that broadcast. Check that each scheduled event belongs to the intended channel.
- Assign one process and credential set per channel. Configure a separate encoder or relay process with that channel’s stream URL and private key. Google’s API documentation distinguishes broadcast resources from live stream resources and specifies a different stream for each channel when managing multiple channels.
- Set encoder values against YouTube’s current guidance. Use RTMPS for secure ingest, constant bitrate (CBR), and a two-second keyframe interval; YouTube says the interval should not exceed four seconds. Choose the bitrate and other video and audio settings from YouTube’s current guidance for the resolution and frame rate you actually use, rather than carrying over a generic value from an old tutorial.
- Rehearse every output. Use representative video movement and audio. Confirm that the preview appears and stream health is acceptable in YouTube Live Control Room before depending on the setup unattended. YouTube recommends testing the encoder and choosing settings that fit a reliable connection.
- Coordinate the scheduled start with the encoder. Scheduling a broadcast does not itself supply a working feed. Make sure each process connects at the intended time and that the operator completes any required transition in YouTube Studio to take the scheduled event live.
Run the processes as supervised services
Use a Linux service supervisor or equivalent process manager to keep each channel’s encoder or relay running and to restart it after an unexpected exit. Keep separate logs and service names so an incident on one channel can be distinguished from a failure on another. Restart behavior is useful, but it is not a substitute for alerts: a repeatedly failing source file, bad key, or unreachable ingest endpoint will not be fixed by restarting indefinitely.
Monitor the failure points separately
- Source playback: Check that the intended file or upstream feed is available, readable, and advancing.
- Process state: Alert on unexpected exit or repeated restart, and preserve enough logs to diagnose which channel failed.
- Resources: Watch CPU and memory, particularly when encoding three feeds simultaneously.
- Disk: Track free space for media, logs, and any separate recordings. Set an alert before storage fills.
- Network and ingest: Monitor outbound traffic and each stream’s health in YouTube Live Control Room. A running local process does not prove YouTube is receiving a healthy feed.
- Recovery: Test how each service behaves after a process restart, network interruption, or VPS reboot; define who receives alerts and who is expected to respond.
Understand the YouTube limits and archive trade-off
YouTube Help, on the current page accessed in 2026, lists a maximum of 10 active streams per channel and three active streams per stream key. These are simultaneous limits, not a reason to reuse one key across different channels. The separate-stream requirement for multiple channels still applies.

YouTube’s encoder help says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived. A single continuous 24/7 broadcast exceeds that duration, so do not rely on it producing one automatically archived recording. If preserving a full-length VOD matters, plan scheduled segments or make a separate local recording, and account for the extra storage and operational work.
Common problems and fixes
- One channel shows no preview: Confirm that its scheduled broadcast is the one selected, its own stream URL and key are configured, and its encoder is connected. Check the channel’s stream health in Live Control Room.
- A feed connects but has poor health: Check the actual outgoing bitrate against YouTube’s current settings guidance and the VPS’s available network capacity. For three feeds, assess the combined sustained bitrate rather than one stream in isolation.
- The VPS becomes overloaded: Determine whether encoding is saturating CPU or memory while all three jobs run. Reduce workload or move to a measured-appropriate configuration; do not assume relay and encode setups need the same resources.
- Traffic exceeds the included allowance: Recalculate from the three real bitrates and the provider’s billing period, then verify the exact India-region allowance and overage terms. Account for overhead and other counted traffic.
- A service restarts but the stream remains broken: Inspect its logs and source. Separate source-file or upstream-feed failures from process crashes and YouTube ingest problems; repeated automatic restarts cannot repair an invalid source or credential.
- The 24/7 broadcast has no single complete archive: That is consistent with YouTube’s stated automatic-archive rule for streams under 12 hours. Use planned segments or a separate recording workflow if complete retention is required.
Or let it run in the cloud
For a YouTube channel built from uploaded videos rather than a live camera feed, StreamNeo offers a different approach: upload a recording or build a playlist, add the YouTube stream key, and go live. It loops the uploaded video from the cloud, so nothing has to stay on at home. Each slot supports any uploaded quality up to 4K 60fps at one flat price, with automatic recovery if YouTube drops the stream. The first day is free with no card. Monthly pricing is $9.99 per month.
StreamNeo streams to YouTube and does not replace the VPS setup for a workflow that needs custom server-side encoding or relay. See StreamNeo or start the free first day.
