How to Run Two Pre-Recorded YouTube Streams at Once with XSplit Broadcaster

XSplit can send simultaneous outputs and play pre-recorded media, but its guides do not confirm two independent YouTube events with different videos from one instance.

Short answer: XSplit Broadcaster supports sending simultaneous outputs to multiple destinations, but its published instructions do not show how to run two separate YouTube live events from one instance with a different pre-recorded video assigned to each. You can set up and start multiple outputs, and you can play pre-recorded videos in XSplit scenes; those documented features do not establish the separate-media, separate-event setup this title asks about.

What XSplit’s documented workflows do—and do not—support

XSplit Support says Broadcaster can stream to multiple broadcast outputs simultaneously. Its instructions describe creating each output and starting each one from the Broadcast menu. The feature requires a Broadcaster Premium or Premium Bundle license, according to XSplit’s Multistreaming to Different Platforms guide, updated 10/11/2025.

That is a multi-destination workflow; XSplit’s examples include Facebook Live and YouTube Live. It does not document assigning a different video source to each output. The official sources reviewed also do not confirm that one running Broadcaster instance can operate two independent YouTube live events with different pre-recorded programs. Treat that specific configuration as unverified rather than assuming that adding a second output creates a second independent program.

Prepare a pre-recorded video in an XSplit scene

An XSplit scene is a layout containing sources. To play a file in a scene, add it as a Video File source. If you want several files to play continuously in the same scene, XSplit also provides a Video Playlist source. See XSplit’s documentation for adding media sources and the Video Playlist source.

Elebase USB to USB C Adapter for iPhone 18 Pro Max,USBC Car Charger Adapter
  • Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
  • Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
  • Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
  • Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
  • 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.

This lets you prepare recorded media for a broadcast. It does not, on its own, show how to route separate scenes or media sources to separate YouTube events at the same time.

Set up and start documented simultaneous outputs

  1. Build the scene. Add your recording as a Video File source, or use Video Playlist for a continuous sequence of files.
  2. Configure a YouTube output. Use XSplit’s output setup to authorize the relevant account or enter the required connection details. Depending on the output, its properties can include a stream key, server, codec, bitrate, frame rate, resolution, and network adapter. XSplit describes these settings in its broadcast output setup guidance.
  3. Add each destination output. In Broadcaster, go to Broadcast > Set up a new output and complete setup for each destination you intend to stream to. XSplit documents this workflow for multiple broadcast outputs and requires Broadcaster Premium or Premium Bundle for the feature.
  4. Check settings and bandwidth. In each output’s properties, choose settings appropriate to your video and connection. XSplit notes that higher bitrate can improve quality but uses more upload bandwidth; its guidance recommends matching bitrate to resolution, frame rate, and available upload speed. Use XSplit’s bandwidth check to help assess whether the connection can support the selected bitrate.
  5. Start outputs individually. Start each configured output from the Broadcast menu. Starting multiple outputs this way follows XSplit’s documented multi-output procedure; it is not confirmation that each output can have its own YouTube event and distinct recorded source.

Do not confuse multiple outputs with YouTube dual-format streaming

XSplit also documents a YouTube dual-format workflow for channels with access to the feature. It sends horizontal and vertical formats for one event using separate stream keys; it is not two independent live programs. XSplit’s YouTube dual-format guide says to check feature access in YouTube Studio, collect the stream URL and horizontal and vertical keys, set the XSplit YouTube output to Stream Key mode, enter the connection details, and start the stream.

Use that process only when you want two formats of one event and YouTube Studio shows the feature is available to your channel. Separate keys for the two formats do not demonstrate that a single Broadcaster instance can send two different recorded programs to two separate YouTube events.

If you need two independent recorded programs

First distinguish the desired result: multiple destination platforms, horizontal and vertical formats for one event, or two independent YouTube events each carrying different media. XSplit’s published workflows substantiate the first two in their documented forms, but do not establish the third from one instance.

If the third is essential, do not rely on the multi-output instructions as proof that it will work. Confirm with current XSplit support whether your version and license can assign distinct sources and event credentials per output, or use a setup whose separate event and source routing is explicitly documented. The reviewed XSplit guidance does not establish what another configuration would support, so verify it before scheduling or depending on the broadcasts.

Troubleshooting output setup

  • An output will not start: Check the output’s authorization or stream key and other connection details. Confirm the YouTube event is configured to receive the stream and that the output properties match the intended destination.
  • The stream is unstable or quality suffers: Check the selected bitrate against the available upload bandwidth. A higher bitrate consumes more bandwidth; reduce it or adjust resolution and frame rate to suit the connection.
  • The playlist or recording is not the expected content: Check the scene’s Video File or Video Playlist source and verify which files are included in the playlist.
  • You cannot find the YouTube dual-format option: Check feature access in YouTube Studio. XSplit’s dual-format instructions are conditional on the channel having access.
  • You expect a second independent program from another output: The documented multi-output workflow does not establish per-output source assignment. Confirm this capability with XSplit rather than assuming a second output will play a different scene.

Keep YouTube rights and live-stream rules in view

Having a recording available to play does not itself establish permission to broadcast it. Before streaming, make sure you have the rights or authorization needed for the video, music, and other material in it, and check YouTube’s applicable live-stream and copyright requirements. A playlist changes how files are sequenced, not whether their use is authorized.
