PRISM Live Studio Media Source Playlist Order Keeps Changing: What to Check

PRISM uses different controls for desktop playlist tracks, mobile Media Playlist videos, and saved sources in My Studio. Identify the list first; official guidance does not explain unexpected resets.

First identify which order is changing: tracks inside a desktop Music Playlist, saved sources in My Studio, or videos in a mobile Media Playlist. PRISM documents how to reorder each, but its available instructions do not establish why an order unexpectedly changes or reverts.

Identify the list and the symptom

“Media source playlist order” can refer to different lists in PRISM Live Studio. The reordering control depends on what you are changing and whether you are using desktop or mobile.

  • Desktop Music Playlist: the order of tracks within a music playlist source.
  • My Studio: the order of saved sources, described in PRISM’s FAQ as a mobile editing workflow.
  • Mobile Media Playlist: the order of videos in a playlist, or a saved music playlist edited through My Studio.
  • Playback problem: a track or video fails to start or restart. That is a separate symptom from the order changing.

If you need help diagnosing an unexpected reset, note your platform, PRISM app version, and the exact list that changes. The official guidance describes reordering controls, not a cause or a confirmed workaround for order reverting.

Reorder tracks in a desktop Music Playlist

  1. Open the Music Playlist window for the playlist source.
  2. Drag a track and drop it into the desired position in the list.
  3. Check the resulting order in the playlist window.

This is PRISM’s documented way to change desktop Music Playlist track order. The documentation does not say that dragging tracks prevents a later reset.

  • Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
  • Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
  • 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.

Reorder saved sources in My Studio on mobile

  1. Open My Studio and choose Edit.
  2. Tap and hold a source, then move it to the desired position.
  3. Finish editing and check the saved-source order.

This workflow changes the order of saved sources in My Studio; it is not the desktop control for tracks inside a Music Playlist.

Change video order in a mobile Media Playlist

PRISM’s mobile guide says video order in a Media Playlist can be adjusted. It also describes editing saved music playlists in My Studio. Use the playlist’s video-order control for mobile videos rather than applying desktop Music Playlist track instructions to a different list.

Protect scenes before investigating

PRISM says scene and source information is saved locally and recommends exporting a Scene Set file to preserve scenes before logging out. Exporting is a precaution for preserving scene configuration; PRISM does not describe it as a repair for playlist order changing.

When the problem is playback, not order

If the items remain in the right order but media does not start or restart, look at playback behavior instead. PRISM’s desktop Media Source guidance covers the restart-playback option and applying changes in Studio Mode. Those settings address playback behavior, not playlist ordering.

Troubleshooting without guessing at the cause

  • The wrong items are moving: confirm whether the list contains playlist tracks, My Studio sources, or mobile playlist videos, then use the matching workflow above.
  • The desired order does not take effect: check that you are editing the intended playlist or saved-source list, rather than another source or scene.
  • The order changes back later: the official instructions available here do not identify why this happens or establish a general fix. Record the platform, app version, the list involved, and the steps preceding the change so the issue can be described precisely to PRISM support.
  • Media will not start or restart: investigate the relevant playback settings separately; changing restart behavior is not an ordering fix.
