How to Run Two Prerecorded YouTube Livestreams from One Remote Server

Run two prerecorded YouTube Live events from one remote server by matching each video to its own encoder job, event URL, and stream key.

Yes. Create two separate YouTube Live events, then run two independent encoder jobs on the remote server—one prerecorded video and one matching event, server URL, and stream key per job. YouTube’s published limits allow 10 active streams per channel and 3 per stream key, so two simultaneous streams fit if other active broadcasts have not used the channel quota. YouTube documents the concurrency limits.

What you need before starting

  • A YouTube channel eligible to livestream. It must be verified, live streaming must be enabled, and it must not have had a live-streaming restriction within the past 90 days. First-time activation can take up to 24 hours. Check YouTube’s live-streaming eligibility requirements in advance.
  • Two distinct live events in YouTube Studio, each with its own event configuration and stream key.
  • A remote server able to read both video files and sustain both outbound streams at once. The required CPU, memory, and network capacity depend on the files, output settings, and whether the encoders transcode; YouTube does not specify a universal server size for this workload.
  • An encoder on the server that can run two separate jobs. YouTube documents the encoder workflow but does not prescribe a particular command line, process supervisor, operating system, or FFmpeg setup.

Create two events and match their credentials

  1. In YouTube Studio, create or schedule the first live event. Open its Live Control Room settings and copy the stream URL and stream key associated with that event.
  2. Create or schedule the second event. Copy that event’s stream URL and stream key separately. Do not assume one event’s credentials will direct a feed to the other event.
  3. Label the two configurations. Keep each file, event, URL, and key together—for example, “Feed A / event A” and “Feed B / event B”—to reduce the risk of sending the wrong video to the wrong event.
  4. Protect the keys. A stream key is a credential used by the encoder to identify the feed YouTube should accept. Store it as a secret on the server, limit access, and avoid pasting it into public scripts, logs, or screenshots. YouTube explains stream URL and key configuration.

Run one encoder job for each video

Start two independent encoder processes or services on the remote server. Job A reads prerecorded file A and sends its output to event A using event A’s URL and key; job B reads file B and sends to event B using event B’s credentials. Keep the jobs independent so you can see, stop, restart, and troubleshoot each feed without confusing it with the other.

YouTube’s official guidance describes connecting an encoder to a live event, but does not provide a two-file command or prescribe FFmpeg. Treat any command you obtain for a particular encoder as that encoder’s implementation, and verify its current syntax and options against the encoder’s own documentation. The same applies to service units, containers, and process supervisors: choose and validate them for your server rather than treating them as YouTube requirements.

Choose output settings for both feeds

Configure each job to match the resolution and bitrate you intend to send for its event, and confirm the server can sustain both outputs concurrently. YouTube recommends RTMPS, constant-bitrate encoding (CBR), and a two-second keyframe interval that does not exceed four seconds. Its guidance lists H.264, H.265, and AV1 video codec options and frame rates up to 60 fps; support for a particular codec or profile depends on the encoder you choose. See YouTube’s encoder settings guidance.

Elebase USB to USB C Adapter for iPhone 18 Pro Max,USBC Car Charger Adapter
  • Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
  • Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
  • Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
  • Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
  • 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
  • Use RTMPS when supported by the encoder. YouTube calls it a secure extension to RTMP.
  • Set a supported codec and profile for each event. Do not assume that two jobs must use identical settings if their source files or intended outputs differ.
  • Set keyframes to two seconds, and never exceed four seconds.
  • Use CBR and a bitrate appropriate to each planned resolution and frame rate. Check YouTube’s current settings guidance for the specific output you plan to use rather than applying an arbitrary bitrate.
  • Budget for two simultaneous outbound feeds. The combined network load and any transcoding work must fit the server’s sustained capacity. YouTube recommends testing upload capacity, but its documentation does not prescribe CPU, memory, or bandwidth figures for this two-feed case.

Preflight both events before going live

  1. Start both encoder jobs before the scheduled broadcast, if the event setup allows, and confirm each event receives a feed.
  2. In Live Control Room, inspect both previews and verify that each video appears under the intended event—not merely that a process is running.
  3. Check stream health and listen to or inspect audio and video for each feed. YouTube recommends testing the stream and monitoring its preview and quality. Use YouTube’s testing and troubleshooting guidance.
  4. Open each public or unlisted watch page and confirm it is the intended event before sharing or starting the scheduled broadcast.
  5. Monitor both jobs and both events during the broadcast. A healthy preview for one feed does not confirm that the other is connected or healthy.

Remote-server and cloud-service choices

A remote server is a category of hosting, not a particular provider. When choosing one, evaluate whether it permits the encoder processes you need, can sustain the outbound bandwidth for both feeds, has CPU headroom if you transcode, and gives you workable process restart and monitoring controls. Compare operating costs for the actual workload. YouTube does not endorse a VPS vendor or state a universal instance size for this arrangement.

A cloud relay that receives one feed and distributes it to destinations is not automatically a solution for two different prerecorded programs. Confirm that a proposed service can produce two separately controlled YouTube events; distributing the same feed is a different workflow.

Troubleshooting two simultaneous streams

  • One event shows no incoming feed: check that its encoder job is running and that its URL and key belong to that specific event. Confirm the stream key has not been mistyped or exposed and replaced.
  • The wrong video appears in an event: stop and inspect the file-to-event mapping in both job configurations. Label the files and credentials distinctly before restarting.
  • YouTube does not allow the stream to start: confirm the channel is verified, live streaming is enabled, and no restriction within the last 90 days applies. If this is the channel’s first live stream, activation may take up to 24 hours.
  • Only one of the two feeds is healthy: inspect each Live Control Room preview and stream health independently, then check the corresponding encoder process and server capacity. Do not infer that the second job is working because the first is.
  • The feed is unstable or the server struggles: test sustained upload capacity with both jobs running and check for CPU pressure if transcoding. YouTube’s published guidance does not establish a universal server specification for two feeds, so adjust the server or output workload based on observed capacity.
  • The event preview or quality is not as expected: verify the selected codec and output profile, resolution, bitrate, CBR mode, and keyframe interval against YouTube’s current encoder recommendations and the configuration of the encoder actually in use.
