Check whether the Windows VPS can run XSplit
XSplit lists these baseline requirements for Broadcaster. They are vendor-published specifications, not a guarantee that a VPS will perform adequately or expose compatible virtual hardware.

See XSplit Broadcaster’s published requirements. Before provisioning a machine, ask the VPS provider whether the specific plan and Windows image expose a compatible graphics or encoding device to the guest OS. A virtual display adapter is not necessarily equivalent to the GeForce- or Radeon-class hardware XSplit names. Also confirm sustained upload capacity, remote-console access, storage, data-transfer limits, and whether interactive sign-in is supported.
XSplit’s cited requirements specify Windows 10 64-bit; they do not certify every Windows Server image or VPS configuration. Check the current installer and provider’s supported OS image rather than assuming server editions will work.

Enable YouTube Live before setting up XSplit
YouTube Live must be enabled for the channel before XSplit can start a broadcast. XSplit’s setup guide says first-time approval can take up to 24 hours, so complete activation well before the planned stream. Follow XSplit’s YouTube setup guide for the current account-authorization flow.
Set up XSplit Broadcaster and the YouTube output
- Install and sign in. Install XSplit Broadcaster on the VPS using the supported Windows image. Sign in through the remote console if required; do not assume the provider permits the authentication flow to complete in a disconnected session.
- Build the scene. Add the video or other intended media source, configure its audio, and set the scene to match the stream’s resolution and frame rate. Confirm the source’s loop option and observe what happens at its end. XSplit’s product page mentions looping multiple images or videos for a BRB screen, but that does not establish that every media source or playlist loops indefinitely.
- Set up YouTube output. In XSplit Broadcaster, open the Broadcast menu and select the YouTube output setup. Authorize the YouTube account or channel when prompted, then enter the broadcast details such as title, description, tags, and privacy.
- Check encoding and upload. Choose settings appropriate for the content and the VPS’s measured, sustained upload capacity. XSplit’s cited requirements give broad speed baselines but do not specify a bitrate, resolution, frame rate, or keyframe interval for your particular stream; use YouTube’s current encoder guidance for those values and leave network headroom for overhead.
- Start and inspect the broadcast. Start the YouTube output from XSplit, then check YouTube Live Control Room for incoming video, audio, and stream health. Watch through at least one complete media loop and verify that playback continues as expected.
Test unattended operation and recovery
Do not treat a successful initial broadcast as proof that a setup can run indefinitely. XSplit’s cited product information does not guarantee endless looping for every source or automatic recovery after a disconnect, and the VPS provider’s behavior is plan-specific.

- Test the exact media source and playlist for repeated playback, including the transition at the end of each file.
- Test whether audio remains in sync and levels stay consistent across a full loop.
- Restart XSplit and the VPS, then check whether the intended scene, authorization, and YouTube output can be restored.
- Simulate a network interruption or dropped YouTube connection if practical; observe whether XSplit reconnects and whether the YouTube broadcast remains usable.
- Check provider reboot policies, console access, and any session timeout that could interrupt the encoder.
The sources cited here do not establish automatic reconnect or restart behavior for a generic XSplit-and-VPS setup. Treat recovery as something to prove on your own configuration, and have a way to intervene if an unattended stream stops.
Decide how long to stream and whether you need an archive
YouTube says streams shorter than 12 hours can be automatically archived, while a stream exceeding 12 hours may not be captured at all. If a dependable recording matters, keep the broadcast under 12 hours or make a local recording as a separate backup. Very long streams may also have limited or unavailable DVR rewind. Check copyright and monetization rules for looped content
Looping a video does not remove the creator’s responsibility for its contents. YouTube’s live terms require the provider to hold the rights needed for streamed material, including relevant music rights, and live content must comply with Community Guidelines. Review YouTube’s livestream terms and conditions before broadcasting.
Monetization is a separate question from whether a stream technically works. YouTube applies its channel monetization policies to livestreams and requires content to be original and authentic rather than repetitive or mass-produced. On July 15, 2025, YouTube clarified and renamed its “repetitious content” policy to “inauthentic content.” A looped format is not a promise of monetization eligibility; see YouTube’s channel monetization policies.

Compare VPS plans by the capabilities that matter
No particular VPS provider is established as suitable here. Ask each candidate the same questions before committing:
- Does the plan provide a supported Windows image and permit the interactive account authorization XSplit needs?
- What graphics or virtual encoding device is presented to Windows, and can you test it with the exact XSplit version?
- What sustained upload speed and data-transfer allowance are included?
- What CPU, memory, storage, reboot controls, and remote-console access are included?
