Never send the 25-character code, a PIN, a photograph of the card or receipt, or your Microsoft account password to an unexpected contact. The FTC explains that scammers ask for the card number and PIN because those details let them take the loaded money. If a scammer obtained your code

Act immediately. The FTC says to contact the card issuer, ask whether the funds can be stopped or refunded, and preserve the card and receipt. Recovery is worth requesting but is not guaranteed.
