The interface and rules differ between House Blueprints and vehicle design layouts, and exact house-blueprint controls may have changed. Here’s how to save and reuse designs, plus what to check when saving or placement fails.
What building presets save—and what they don’t
House Blueprints let you retain a house design between scenarios, but rebuilding it costs materials. Official scenario guidance says basic materials can substitute when you do not have advanced materials available. A blueprint is therefore a reusable plan, not a finished structure or a guarantee that every component is supplied.
Once Human’s terminology also depends on context: official notes discuss House Blueprints for houses and design layouts for vehicles. The vehicle saving and application instructions are not the same as a confirmed current menu walkthrough for placing a house.
Choose a whole house or a reusable structure
A May 2025 community walkthrough describes saving either a whole-house blueprint or a single structure from the build-mode blueprint tab. In practical terms, a whole-house plan suits a broad base layout; saving a separate structure may suit a reusable module such as a workshop or farm area. The walkthrough is community advice, not an official, current control guide, so labels and steps may differ in your client.

Save a house or structure
- Enter build mode and open its build menu.
- Look for the House Blueprint tab and choose the whole-house or single-structure option, if those choices appear in your version.
- Select the design to save and use the save action shown in the interface. For a single structure, the community walkthrough advises separating it from the rest of the house first.
These menu directions come from a May 2025 player-posted walkthrough, not a verified current tutorial for every platform. If the labels or options do not match, follow the controls shown in your live client rather than assuming a specific hotkey.
Use a saved House Blueprint
Select a saved house or structure in the blueprint or build interface, then place it in a valid building context and provide the materials required for construction. Official scenario guidance confirms that retained House Blueprints can be rebuilt with materials; it does not establish a complete, current Territory placement-menu sequence. Use the live interface for the exact selection and placement controls.

Save or apply a vehicle design layout
Vehicle design layouts have a separate official workflow. To save one, you must be near the target vehicle. To apply a layout, select it and then select the vehicle in the scene that you want to replace. These vehicle instructions do not establish the menu steps for placing House Blueprints.

- Check where you are: official Version 3.0.2 notes, dated July 22, 2026, require you to be within the target Territory or near the vehicle when saving a design layout.
- Check Territory construction permissions: July 2025 official notes say you cannot save a Territory build as a House Blueprint without construction permissions.
Because the official notes distinguish vehicle design-layout saving from House Blueprint rules, do not assume one context’s location or permission requirement explains every unavailable save option.

Fix red previews and poor alignment
A red placement preview indicates that parts overlap or intersect. Adjust the placement to clear the collision. If an irregular or complex build still aligns poorly, official guidance recommends saving components separately rather than relying on a single large design.
For walls, ceilings, roofs, stairs, and pillars, the July 2026 update added snap-point switching. On PC, use Shift + mouse wheel; on mobile, use the on-screen switch-snap-point button. These controls help adjust how parts connect, but do not remove collision or overlap restrictions.
Understand what a shared blueprint lets you do
Sharing a blueprint does not necessarily transfer the ability to use it. An official February 2026 notice says recipients can bookmark and view a shared blueprint, but cannot directly use it; gifting grants ownership privileges. The same notice says you cannot save another player’s Territory building as your own blueprint just by visiting it.
