You can schedule a YouTube live event in YouTube Studio, then select that event in CameraFi Live and start the broadcast when you’re ready. CameraFi’s published instructions do not confirm that the app can automatically start at the scheduled time and play a prerecorded video unattended. If that automation is essential, verify it in the current app before relying on it.
What this CameraFi workflow does—and doesn’t do
The documented process creates a scheduled YouTube event first, then connects it to CameraFi Live. You still start the broadcast from the app. That is different from uploading a prerecorded video and having it automatically go live at a future time without an operator.
CameraFi’s February 2020 tutorial describes bringing a scheduled event into CameraFi Live, but does not establish automatic playback of an uploaded video or unattended startup. Its July 2025 overview likewise does not verify those capabilities. If you need scheduled, unattended prerecorded playback, check current CameraFi Live documentation or support for that exact workflow before scheduling around it.

Check YouTube live eligibility
YouTube’s live-streaming guidance says a channel must be verified and must have had no live-streaming restrictions in the previous 90 days. Check channel status and feature availability in YouTube Studio before the event.

Check which CameraFi options your account can access
CameraFi’s subscriber guidance has changed and conflicts across its materials. A February 2020 tutorial cautions that scheduled live video might not be available below 1,000 subscribers; a July 2025 overview says Events are available at 50 or more subscribers and describes Go Live Now for channels below that. These dated vendor statements are not a single universal current threshold. Use the options actually shown in your YouTube Studio and CameraFi Live accounts.
Have your event details ready
Prepare the title, description, audience information, optional thumbnail, and intended date and time. CameraFi’s tutorial was published in 2020, so screen names may differ in current versions; follow the corresponding current controls if labels have changed.

Schedule the YouTube event and select it in CameraFi Live
- Create the event in YouTube Studio. On a computer, open YouTube Studio and choose Create, then Go Live. Choose the stream setup and enter the title, description, audience information, and optional thumbnail.
- Set its date and time. Enable Schedule for later, choose the desired time, and create the stream/event.
- Find the event in CameraFi Live. Open CameraFi Live, choose READY, and select Events. Use the paper-and-clock icon to find and select the scheduled video, then tap Done. If a label differs, use the equivalent option in the current app.
- Start the broadcast when ready. In CameraFi Live, tap GO to begin broadcasting. The documented flow requires this start action; creating a scheduled YouTube event does not, by itself, establish that CameraFi will start it unattended.
How YouTube’s scheduled-stream controls differ
YouTube Help describes managing scheduled streams separately in Live Control Room: open Manage, select the scheduled stream, and launch it there. That is YouTube’s control-room workflow; it is not the same as selecting an event under Events in CameraFi Live. Use the route that matches the way you intend to broadcast.
If you need prerecorded video to play unattended
The cited CameraFi instructions establish event scheduling and in-app event selection, but do not confirm automatic playback of a prerecorded file at the scheduled time. Do not assume that selecting an event queues a video file or removes the need for an operator. Confirm that the current CameraFi Live version supports the precise combination you need—uploaded prerecorded media, scheduled start, and unattended operation—before depending on it.
