Schedule seven separate YouTube Live events—one for each day—then connect a live presenter or a playout feed to each event when it is time to broadcast. YouTube Studio scheduling creates upcoming event pages; it does not, by itself, turn a playlist into a live broadcast or establish a weekly repeating event.
First, decide what you mean by “livestream playlist”
There are two different setups that are easy to confuse:
- A YouTube playlist for viewers: a collection of published devotional videos people can watch in sequence. Its Loop control repeats playback for an individual viewer; it does not broadcast the playlist live.
- A prerecorded playlist broadcast as a livestream: an encoder or compatible playout service plays files and sends their video and audio to a scheduled YouTube Live event.
If a person will lead each devotional live, schedule the events and connect the camera/audio setup or encoder at the appointed time. If the devotional material is prerecorded, arrange a supported playout feed as well as the event schedule.
Plan a seven-day schedule viewers can follow
Before creating events, settle on a sustainable cadence and record the details in one schedule. YouTube recommends consistency and sustainability, and suggests considering whether content is tied to particular days. A weekly plan is an editorial choice, not a YouTube requirement.

Use the channel’s intended audience time zone and include it in announcements so viewers in other regions can convert the start time. Pick titles that identify both the day and the devotional, and decide whether the replay archive should remain public after each stream.
Schedule each event in YouTube Studio
- In YouTube Studio, select Create → Go Live → Manage → Schedule stream.
- Create a new event, or choose the option to reuse prior settings if it suits the next day’s stream. Reusing settings can save setup time, but review every event rather than assuming its details are correct.
- Set the title, description, date, start time, visibility, audience settings, and other event details. Check the displayed time and date before saving.
- Save the event and copy its upcoming event link into your weekly schedule. Repeat for each of the seven dates.
- Share the event pages through your channel and other communication channels. Viewers may be able to opt into a reminder. YouTube notes that scheduling lets you promote a stream.
The standard Studio workflow described by YouTube schedules an event; it does not document a one-click weekly recurrence toggle. Plan to create or schedule each dated event. YouTube’s Live Streaming API documentation describes recurring broadcasts that share stream settings, but that developer workflow is not the same as an automatic weekly event option in Studio.

Connect the live feed when the event is ready
For a presenter broadcasting live
For a webcam setup, open the scheduled event in Live Control Room, select the camera and correct microphone, and start the broadcast when ready. For an encoder setup, connect the encoder to the event using YouTube’s stream URL and stream key, then send the video and audio feed. Follow the encoder’s instructions for selecting the scheduled event and beginning transmission.
Treat the stream key like a password: do not publish it or share it with people who should not control the broadcast. If it is exposed, replace or reset it in YouTube’s stream settings and update the encoder before going live.

For spoken devotionals, check microphone placement and audio levels before the event. A USB microphone for livestreaming is an optional equipment category, not a requirement; the key is to confirm that the intended microphone is selected and audible.
For prerecorded devotionals
Use an encoder or compatible playout service that can play the source files and send the resulting feed to the scheduled YouTube event. Confirm that the service supports the schedule you need, that it can feed YouTube, and how it handles a stopped or interrupted playout. Vendor capabilities, availability, and terms can change. For example, Restream documents a feature for combining prerecorded videos into a playlist and scheduling that playlist to stream to YouTube; check its current service details before relying on it.

- Please Note: To reach 10Gbps speed, keep the cable under 3.3 ft. For USB A Male to USB C adapters, try flipping the USB C connector. USB C Male to USB A adapters support bidirectional 10Gbps transfer within 3.3 ft
Keep YouTube’s event schedule and the playout schedule aligned. An upcoming event page is not evidence that the prerecorded files are being sent; verify the feed in Live Control Room and follow the encoder or service’s start procedure.
Check eligibility, rights, and archive choices
- Channel eligibility: YouTube’s getting-started guidance says a channel must be verified, must not have had a livestream restriction in the previous 90 days, and the streamer must be at least 16. Check the channel’s current eligibility and account status before promoting the series.
- Content rights: Confirm permission for every devotional reading, song, recording, image, and other material in the broadcast. Religious or devotional use does not automatically grant rights to music or recordings.
- Audience and visibility: Review the event’s audience settings and visibility for each date, particularly when reusing settings.
- Replays: Decide whether recordings should remain public, be unlisted, or be removed after each stream, and apply that choice consistently where appropriate.
Choose the workflow that matches the devotional
| Workflow | Use it for | What it provides | Important limitation |
|---|---|---|---|
| Seven scheduled YouTube Live events with a webcam or encoder | A presenter leading a prayer, reflection, or reading at set times | Upcoming event pages and a place to send the live feed | Each event still needs a presenter or configured feed; Studio’s documented workflow does not establish automatic weekly recurrence. |
| Standard YouTube playlist | Organizing devotional videos for on-demand viewing | A collection viewers can watch in sequence and loop for their own playback | It is not a live broadcast. |
| Scheduled prerecorded playout | Sending recorded devotional programming as one live broadcast | An encoder or compatible service plays files and supplies the YouTube feed | Scheduling, availability, cost, and recovery behavior depend on the chosen tool; verify its current details. |

Troubleshoot common scheduling problems
- The event page exists, but nothing is broadcasting: Scheduling creates the event page, not the feed. Start the webcam/encoder or confirm the playout service is sending to that event.
- The encoder will not connect: Check that it is using the correct event’s stream URL and key. If the key was changed or exposed, update the encoder with the current key.
- The wrong time appears: Reopen the event details, verify the date and time in Studio, and state the intended time zone in your public schedule.
- A devotional playlist only plays for one viewer: You are using ordinary playlist playback. To make files appear as one livestream, send them through an encoder or compatible playout service to a scheduled Live event.
- A reused event has incorrect details: Review title, description, date/time, visibility, audience settings, and promotional details on every event before saving or sharing it.
- The channel cannot start a livestream: Check verification, account livestream restrictions, and current eligibility in YouTube Studio before announcing the broadcast.
- A replay is claimed or blocked: Review rights for the specific music, reading, image, or recording involved and replace or remove material you are not authorized to use.
Review the first week and adjust
After the first seven events, assess whether the cadence is sustainable, whether the chosen time works for the audience, and whether the daily themes and replay policy are clear. YouTube’s schedule guidance emphasizes a consistent, sustainable release schedule; adjust the plan rather than committing to a rhythm the team cannot maintain.
