You can schedule a YouTube Live event for a future date, but YouTube’s scheduling flow schedules a live broadcast—not a playlist to play live automatically. To broadcast exam-preparation music, schedule the event in YouTube Studio, then supply the music as a live feed using an encoder or another suitable streaming method. Before you choose tracks, confirm that your rights cover the planned use and territories: YouTube scans live streams for third-party content, and a match can interrupt a broadcast.
What you can schedule on YouTube
A YouTube playlist is an on-demand collection of videos. A scheduled livestream is a future live event with its own watch page. YouTube’s documented scheduling process creates the event; it does not schedule a playlist object to broadcast itself. You can use a playlist to plan the order of your study music, but a live broadcast still needs a method to send audio and video to YouTube.
YouTube supports different ways to go live, including an encoder, webcam, and mobile streaming. An encoder is the relevant choice when you want to send a prepared or mixed program feed, such as music combined with a visual. It is not required for every kind of livestream. YouTube’s streaming guidance names Wirecast as an example of encoding software, not as an endorsement.
Check eligibility and music rights first
Confirm the channel can stream
YouTube says a channel must be verified and must not have had live-streaming restrictions in the preceding 90 days to enable streaming. The streamer must be at least 16. Features can vary by account and streaming method, so check the current controls in YouTube Studio before announcing a broadcast. See YouTube’s live-streaming enablement requirements.

Make sure the music is cleared for this use
YouTube’s live-stream terms place responsibility on the provider to have the necessary worldwide rights to exploit live content on Google services, including applicable music rights from artists, labels, publishers, and other royalty participants. A licence’s actual scope matters: check that it covers livestreaming, the intended territories, and the way you plan to use each recording. Do not assume that a particular payment or licence automatically covers every track or use.
YouTube says all live streams are scanned for matches to third-party content. A match may trigger a warning or placeholder; if it is not resolved, the stream can be temporarily interrupted or terminated. Even if you have a licence, the stream may be interrupted if the rights owner has not allowlisted your channel through Content ID. Contact the rights owner about allowlisting before the event, and be aware that an archived stream may receive a Content ID claim after it ends. Schedule the live event in YouTube Studio

Open YouTube Studio, select Create > Go Live > Manage > Schedule stream. The exact labels or available controls may change; follow the current Studio interface if it differs.

Choose to create a new stream or reuse settings. Enter the event title and description, then set the date, time, privacy, and any other options presented for your account.

Review the watch-page details and event settings. Monetization and other features, such as Live Redirect, may be available depending on your account and permissions; they are separate from scheduling a playlist.

Save the scheduled event. Copy its watch URL so you can share the event page ahead of time.

When ready to prepare the broadcast, open the scheduled stream in Live Control Room and retrieve the YouTube server URL and stream key for your encoder. Treat the key as a password: do not publish it or share it with people who should not control the stream.

Configure your chosen streaming method to send the prepared audio/video feed to YouTube. Check the preview in Live Control Room and confirm the sound, visuals, and event details before starting the stream.

Plan the study-session schedule and promote it
A scheduled event gives you a watch URL to share in advance. YouTube says a scheduled stream may appear to subscribers as upcoming, where viewers can select “Notify me” to get a reminder. Share the event page rather than promising that a playlist will begin playing automatically.
For an exam-preparation audience, choose a repeatable timetable that fits your intended study sessions and publish it clearly in the event description or channel communications. This is practical planning advice, not a YouTube-recommended India-specific time: no universally best hour for Indian exam-preparation music is established here. The stream is not available to schedule: Check that the channel is verified, has no live-stream restrictions within the preceding 90 days, and meets YouTube’s age requirement. Check current account feature access in Studio.

The encoder does not connect: Confirm that you copied the server URL and stream key for the correct scheduled event and entered them in the encoder’s stream settings. If needed, retrieve the current values from Live Control Room; do not reuse a key you cannot verify.

The event is scheduled but no music is heard in preview: The event page does not provide the music feed by itself. Check that your selected streaming method is sending the intended audio source, then verify it in the Live Control Room preview before going live.

YouTube warns about a copyright match or interrupts the stream: Follow the alert and YouTube’s resolution process. Confirm the licence covers the specific track, live use, and territories, and ask the rights owner whether your channel needs Content ID allowlisting. Do not assume a licence alone prevents interruptions.

The event time or details change: Update the event information in Studio and tell viewers through the channels where you promoted it. A shared watch URL helps viewers find the event, but communicate changes rather than assuming everyone will see them.
