You can schedule a sequence of prerecorded videos as a YouTube Live event using Restream’s Pre-recorded livestream → Playlist workflow. Build the playlist from video files uploaded to or already available in Restream, arrange their order, then schedule the event and enable YouTube as its destination. Restream’s instructions do not document importing a playlist created natively on YouTube.
What Restream’s Playlist scheduler does
Restream’s Playlist feature combines video files into a scheduled prerecorded broadcast. It is distinct from selecting an existing YouTube playlist: Restream’s documented workflow uses videos in Restream. See Restream’s playlist setup guide.
You’ll need a Restream account with an eligible Upload & Stream add-on tier, the video files you want to use, and a YouTube channel that is enabled for live streaming and authorized in Restream. Restream’s guide lists Marathon and Media as tiers with Playlist access; check its Upload & Stream overview and current plan details before subscribing.
How to schedule a YouTube Live playlist
- Open the playlist workflow. From the Restream home screen, choose Pre-recorded livestream, then Playlist. To work on one you already created in Restream, select it from the home screen.
- Add the videos. Choose uploaded videos or upload files, then select Next. Drag and drop the videos into the desired playback order. Add more files or a countdown if needed.
- Review the playlist. Customize it if you want, then preview the sequence. Confirm that the order and contents are right before scheduling: Restream says videos cannot be added, removed, or rearranged once the playlist is live.
- Choose Schedule and set up the YouTube event. Enter the event title, description, date, and time. You can enable the advance event post, upload a thumbnail, and adjust available YouTube channel settings such as category, latency, or privacy. Make sure YouTube is toggled on as a destination, then create the event. Restream’s YouTube Live Event guide describes these event options.
- Check the scheduled event. Find its card on the Restream home screen and verify its details. Restream says scheduled prerecorded videos and playlists start automatically at the scheduled time, so you do not need to manually start the Restream playlist.
Playlist limits, timing, and edits
Restream’s Help Center playlist guide, dated July 25, 2026, lists a maximum playlist duration of 24 hours and a maximum of 40 video entries. Duplicate copies of a video count as separate entries. These are Restream product specifications; verify current limits and plan availability before relying on them.

- Finalize video order before the start. Files can be added, removed, and reordered only before the playlist goes live. Restream says graphics and chat can still be edited during the broadcast.
- Plan consecutive playlists with a gap. Restream documents a two-minute buffer between back-to-back playlists; do not treat separate scheduled playlists as a seamless handoff.
- Share the event link if available. Restream says scheduled playlist event links can be shared in advance for YouTube, Facebook, and LinkedIn. Other platforms may not allow advance event links.
- Reschedule or unschedule from the home screen. Restream says a playlist can be edited or unscheduled from its home-screen card.

Check YouTube readiness before scheduling
YouTube live streaming must be enabled for the channel, and the channel owner must authorize its connection to Restream. Restream’s YouTube connection guide, dated July 9, 2026, says first-time live enablement requires phone verification and a 24-hour wait. YouTube account requirements can change, so check the channel’s current live-streaming status well before the event.

Restream says a scheduled YouTube event can only be gone live to once. Avoid starting the real event as a test; verify setup from the scheduled-event details instead. The advance announcement option must be selected while creating the event if you want that announcement.
