You can check your Microsoft account balance and review your Xbox purchase history, but Microsoft does not provide an official Xbox account-value calculator. Balance is current store credit; purchase history is past spending. Neither tells you a legitimate resale price for an account.
What “Xbox account worth” can mean
There are three different figures people often mean by account value:

- Current balance: Microsoft account credit available for eligible purchases.
- Past spending: the recorded cost of games, subscriptions, and other orders.
- Resale value: a hypothetical price someone might offer for the account or its library.
The first two can be checked in Microsoft’s account tools. The official sources cited here do not establish an account appraisal tool or a reliable resale benchmark.
Check your Microsoft account balance
- Sign in to account.microsoft.com/billing/payments with the Microsoft account you use for Xbox.
- Review the balance shown on the page. It represents Microsoft account credit, not cash or an estimate of what the account could sell for. Microsoft explains how to check your account balance.
Microsoft account money is intended for eligible Microsoft Store purchases. It generally cannot be converted to cash, gift certificates, or similar payment products, subject to applicable legal exceptions. See Microsoft’s guidance on spending account money.

Review your Xbox purchase history
- Sign in at account.microsoft.com/billing using the Microsoft account associated with the purchases. If you have more than one account, check each relevant account rather than assuming the purchases are all on your current login.
- Open Payment & billing > Order history.
- Choose the date range you want, then inspect completed or redeemed orders. In-progress charges have not yet posted.
Microsoft’s order-history instructions cover app, game, and subscription purchases and the available order and date filters. Adding up these orders can help you understand historical spending, but it does not calculate present account value: past prices do not establish what a buyer would pay, and a purchase record is not a resale appraisal.
Why game ownership and account balance do not equal resale value
Xbox digital-game licenses are associated with the Microsoft account, with usage rules that also cover access on a designated Home Xbox. Those rules describe how digital content may be used, not a freely transferable asset. Microsoft’s Digital Goods usage rules explain the account and Home-console arrangements.

Microsoft’s Gaming Web Purchase Service terms state that its Digital Products have no monetary value and may not be transferred to another person or redeemed for money or other things of monetary value. Those terms apply to that service; they are not an appraisal method. Xbox Community Standards separately prohibit giving another person access to a Microsoft account and prohibit selling or attempting to sell an account or gamertag. Read the Xbox Community Standards and the Microsoft Gaming Web Purchase Service terms before making assumptions about transfer or sale.
Achievements, account age, a large library, or a third-party offer do not establish an official or trustworthy value. Avoid treating an account-value calculator or buyer quote as Microsoft-approved: the official sources do not provide a valuation formula or recognized resale benchmark.
