Crashes, No Sound, or Screen Glitches?

The new member’s profile picture is pinned at the top of chat for five minutes. If you own the channel and miss the message, check YouTube Studio’s Earn > Memberships tab for member information; an archived stream’s chat replay may also show the announcement if replay is available.
While the stream is live: watch for the New Member message
When someone joins a channel membership during that channel’s live stream, YouTube sends a bright green “New Member” message in live chat. The member’s profile picture is pinned at the top of chat for five minutes. These are the direct live signals YouTube documents; the message appears in chat, not as a separate roster for viewers.
- Open the live stream with live chat visible.
- Watch for the bright green “New Member” message as people join.
- Look at the top of chat for the member’s pinned profile picture, which remains there for five minutes.
YouTube documents this behavior on its channel membership benefits help page.
If you own the channel: check YouTube Studio
- Open YouTube Studio.
- Select Earn, then Memberships.
- Review the member information available in that tab.
YouTube says an offline membership join does not trigger a notification, but creators can view members in the Memberships tab. The tab is a place to see membership information; YouTube’s documentation does not describe it as a historical, stream-by-stream list of who joined during a particular broadcast. See YouTube’s creator guidance on managing channel memberships.

- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
After the stream: check chat replay, if available
Once a stream ends, active live chat is no longer available. The archive may have live chat replay, which plays chat alongside the video as it appeared live. YouTube says replay is on by default for stream archives, but creators can turn it off. If it is available, scrub or watch the replay around the time of the join announcement.
If you participated in the chat, YouTube also documents a way to view live chats you took part in through your account History. Chat replay availability and personal chat history are not a guaranteed creator-facing record of all join events. See YouTube’s live chat moderation help.

What you can—and cannot—confirm
- During the broadcast: the green “New Member” chat message and five-minute profile-picture pin identify the live join signal.
- Afterward: chat replay may preserve that message in the archive if replay is enabled.
- If the notice was missed and replay is unavailable: the official YouTube pages cited here do not document a way to reconstruct exactly which members joined during that specific stream.
- Memberships tab: it provides membership information, but should not be treated as a confirmed per-stream join-event history.
Membership-only chat is a separate setting
A creator can restrict who is allowed to post in live chat to channel members while leaving the stream itself viewable to everyone. This setting controls chat participation; it is not the new-member alert. YouTube’s documented join signal remains the green announcement in chat. Details are in YouTube’s guidance on membership levels and perks.
What member information may be visible
YouTube says some membership information can be publicly visible after a person joins: their channel URL, channel name, profile picture, join date, and membership level. Visibility and use may depend on the channel. The live announcement is not an unrestricted, complete membership roster.
