Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute2Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems3Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesPress F3 while playing Minecraft: Java Edition, then find the XYZ player-position readout on the debug screen. The three numbers are your X, Y and Z coordinates.
See your coordinates with the F3 screen
- While playing Minecraft: Java Edition, press F3 to open the debug screen. Mojang’s Snapshot 25w31a release notes confirm that the debug screen is opened with F3.
- Locate the XYZ player-position values in the debug information.
- Read the values in order: X, Y, Z. X and Z describe horizontal position; Y is height. See the Minecraft Wiki’s guide to measuring distance for the axis interpretation.
- Press F3 again to close the debug screen.
The full debug screen contains technical information beyond coordinates. If you want coordinates visible without keeping that overlay open, configure the coordinate display in Debug Options.

Keep coordinates visible without the full overlay
In the currently documented Java Edition 26.3 release, open Debug Options with F3 + F6, then set the relevant coordinate or player-position entry to Always. Mojang’s 26.3 release notes document the shortcut and overlay options. The exact entry name can vary by version.
The shortcut is version-sensitive: Snapshot 25w31a documented F3 + F5 for Debug Options, while the 26.3 notes use F3 + F6. Use the shortcut documented for your game version rather than assuming the snapshot shortcut applies to every release.

If F3 does not open the screen
Some keyboard configurations require the Fn modifier for function keys. Try Fn + F3; the Minecraft Wiki’s debug-screen guide notes this keyboard caveat.
