To loop a Marathi devotional video on YouTube, copy the RTMPS server URL and stream key from YouTube Studio’s Live Control Room, then run FFmpeg with -stream_loop -1 to repeat the file. The example below sends H.264 video and AAC audio; adjust its resolution and bitrate to suit your source and sustained upload speed, and verify the preview before relying on the broadcast.
Before you start
- Install an FFmpeg build that includes the
libx264encoder used in the example. Encoder availability varies by build. - Have a video file containing the picture and audio you want to broadcast. Play it locally first to check that both work.
- Establish that you have permission to stream both the video and the audio, including any song recording or arrangement. A devotional subject does not by itself establish broadcast rights.
- Use a stable wired connection if available, and measure its sustained upload capacity. YouTube recommends leaving 20% bandwidth headroom; shared networks may reduce the bandwidth available to your stream (YouTube Help: network, encoder, and bitrate settings).
Get the YouTube stream URL and key
- In YouTube Studio, open Create → Go Live.
- In Live Control Room, create or select a stream and copy the stream URL and stream key shown for it. YouTube describes the key as the credential that tells the encoder where to send the feed and allows YouTube to accept it (YouTube Help: set up your encoder).
- Keep the key private. Anyone who obtains it may be able to send a feed to the associated stream. If it is exposed, reset it in Live Control Room and replace the key in your FFmpeg command.
Run FFmpeg to loop and send the video
Replace devotional-video.mp4 with the file’s path and replace the URL at the end with the full RTMPS publishing URL and key supplied by YouTube. Keep the key out of public posts and, where practical, avoid leaving it in shell history.
ffmpeg -re -stream_loop -1 -i "devotional-video.mp4"
-c:v libx264 -preset veryfast -b:v 4500k -maxrate 4500k -bufsize 9000k
-pix_fmt yuv420p -r 30 -g 60
-c:a aac -b:a 128k -ar 44100
-f flv "rtmps://YOUTUBE_INGEST_URL/STREAM_KEY"
This is an illustrative command structure, not a tested command. It encodes H.264 video and AAC audio into an FLV output, targeting 30 frames per second with a 60-frame GOP (two seconds at 30 fps). The example’s video rate is a starting point only: adapt the bitrate, frame rate, and other settings to the source, target quality, FFmpeg build, and upload connection. YouTube recommends CBR and a two-second keyframe interval, with intervals not over four seconds (YouTube Help: encoder settings).
What the loop and real-time options do
-stream_loop -1repeats the input indefinitely. FFmpeg documents-1as infinite looping.-rereads the file at its native frame rate, which is useful when sending a file as a real-time stream. These are input options, so they appear before-i(FFmpeg documentation).-g 60sets a 60-frame GOP in this example. At 30 fps, that is a two-second keyframe interval; if you change the frame rate, recalculate the GOP accordingly.
Choose resolution, bitrate, and ingestion protocol
YouTube’s published H.264 recommendations include the following figures. They are recommendations, not guarantees that a particular file, encoder build, or connection will work.
#1 Best Overall
- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
| Output | Minimum video bitrate | Recommended video bitrate |
|---|---|---|
| 720p at 30 fps | 3 Mbps | 8 Mbps |
| 1080p at 30 fps | 5 Mbps | 14 Mbps |
These are YouTube Help figures; the current page does not state a publication year. Choose a rate your connection can sustain, and leave the recommended 20% upload headroom rather than assigning the entire measured upload rate to FFmpeg (YouTube Help: encoder settings; YouTube Help: network guidance).
YouTube currently lists RTMP/RTMPS ingestion, H.264, H.265 (HEVC), and AV1 video, AAC or MP3 audio, frame rates up to 60 fps, CBR encoding, and a recommended two-second keyframe interval (not over four seconds). It recommends RTMPS for encryption in transit to Google. Use the protocol and URL presented for your stream in Live Control Room; the example uses RTMPS (YouTube Help: encoder settings).

HLS is a separate ingestion option that may be relevant for supported HDR or codec workflows. YouTube says HLS has higher latency because it sends video in segments rather than as a continuous stream. For this ordinary looping-video workflow, use the RTMPS URL and settings shown in Live Control Room (YouTube Help: HLS ingestion).
Test the stream and start the broadcast
- Start the command and check the Live Control Room preview. Confirm that the video and audio are present and that the stream health indicators do not show a problem.
- Test with representative movement and sound before promoting or depending on the stream. A still devotional image may not reveal the same encoding or connection issues as a video with motion.
- Depending on the stream’s auto-start settings, the encoder may start the public broadcast automatically, or you may need to click Go live in Live Control Room.
- When finished, stop FFmpeg. YouTube says streams shorter than 12 hours are automatically archived; this does not establish that every stream will archive successfully (YouTube Help: create a live stream with an encoder).
Troubleshooting
| Symptom | Likely cause | What to check |
|---|---|---|
| YouTube does not receive a feed | Incorrect or outdated stream URL/key, or an incompatible URL shape | Copy the current URL and key from Live Control Room. If the key was reset, update the command. Make sure the quoted URL contains the complete publishing address. |
FFmpeg reports that libx264 is unavailable |
The installed build does not include that encoder | Use an FFmpeg build with libx264, or revise the encoder settings for an encoder available in your build and supported by YouTube. |
| Stream health is poor or the feed disconnects | Bitrate exceeds sustained upload capacity, or the network is shared or unstable | Reduce the output bitrate or resolution, leave 20% upload headroom, and test again on the intended connection. |
| Video looks wrong or will not encode | Source properties or pixel format are incompatible with the chosen settings | Confirm the file plays, inspect its resolution and frame rate, and adjust output settings to match the desired stream and available encoder. |
| Audio is missing or distorted | Missing or unsuitable audio in the source, or audio encoding settings that need adjustment | Play the source locally, confirm it contains the intended audio, then check the Live Control Room preview and adjust audio settings if needed. |
| The feed is present but the public broadcast has not begun | Manual start may be required for the stream’s auto-start configuration | Check Live Control Room and click Go live if prompted. |
Copyright and channel eligibility
FFmpeg can send a file technically; it cannot establish that you are allowed to broadcast the specific Marathi devotional song, recording, performance, or video. Confirm rights for every relevant asset before streaming. YouTube’s live-stream setup also depends on the channel and stream settings; the available technical guidance does not establish whether a particular account is eligible, so check the status shown in YouTube Studio.
