Repair common Windows errors and clear accumulated junk for a smoother, more stable PC - no reinstall needed.Free scan · no reinstallYou can run a YouTube study stream around the clock with a computer and encoder, but a local setup is not self-running: the computer, network and stream need monitoring, and failures may require a restart. Before going live, enable streaming on your channel, test the encoder and plan separately for continuous availability, replay archives and live rewind. YouTube says a stream longer than 12 hours may not be captured at all, so do not rely on one 24-hour broadcast for a replay.
Before you begin: enable YouTube Live
Your channel must be verified and must not have live-streaming restrictions in the previous 90 days. YouTube says first-time activation can take up to 24 hours, so enable Live before your planned launch day. Check the current requirements in YouTube’s live-streaming access help.
Choose what the study stream will show
Decide whether viewers will see a live study desk, another permitted study-room scene, or a loop or replay of content you have the rights to use. A quiet, useful study environment can be simple: a stable camera view, unobtrusive room sound, or a rights-cleared visual loop. Whatever the format, secure the rights for every video, audio track and other material you broadcast.
Set up the broadcast in YouTube Studio
- Create or schedule the stream. In YouTube Studio, select Create → Go Live, then use the Stream or Manage area to create or schedule the broadcast. Enter an accurate title and description, choose visibility, and set the audience information for the content.
- Connect your encoder. If your encoder offers YouTube as a destination, select it and follow its connection steps. Otherwise, copy the stream URL and stream key shown in Studio into the encoder’s stream settings. Treat the key like a password: do not show it on screen or share it.
- Configure the video and connection. Choose a resolution, frame rate and bitrate your upload connection and encoder can sustain reliably. Prefer RTMPS if your encoder supports it. Use YouTube’s current live encoder settings for codec, keyframe and bitrate guidance rather than relying on a preset that may be out of date. A quiet study scene rarely benefits from an unnecessarily high frame rate; prioritize a stable, clear picture.
- Send a test and check the preview. Start sending the encoder signal, then inspect the Live Control Room preview for picture, sound and stream health. Check the public watch page on desktop and mobile. If you are recording locally, verify that the recording file is growing before relying on it as a backup.
- Start and supervise the broadcast. Complete the Studio workflow to start the broadcast. Keep an eye on stream health and the watch page after launch; a successful preview is not a guarantee that the connection will remain stable indefinitely.
Plan for continuity, replays and rewind separately
A “24/7 stream” can mean three different things: keeping a live feed available, saving a replay, and letting viewers rewind while it is live. They have different constraints. YouTube warns that streams exceeding 12 hours may not be captured at all, and DVR rewind may be limited or unavailable beyond 12 hours. Do not assume that a single all-day broadcast will produce a complete archive or full rewind. Check the current options in Studio and plan sessions and local recordings around these limits.

- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
For a locally encoded stream, the computer, encoder, source media and internet connection all have to keep working. YouTube advises leaving upload bandwidth headroom and monitoring stream health; it also warns that connectivity disruptions can break a stream. Decide who will monitor the feed and how it will be restarted if the computer, encoder or connection fails. A local recording is useful if you need your own copy, but it does not keep the live feed available after an outage.
A UPS battery backup for the streaming computer and networking equipment is an optional way to address some local power interruptions. It is not a YouTube requirement or a guarantee of continuous service: it cannot prevent an ISP or platform outage, and the battery only helps for as long as its available power lasts.

Keep copyright and live-stream rules in view
YouTube scans live broadcasts for third-party matches, including other live broadcasts. If it detects a match, it may replace the feed with a placeholder and warn you to stop using the content; unresolved use can interrupt or terminate the stream. A license alone may not prevent a Content ID interruption if the rights holder has not added your channel to its allowlist. Secure the necessary rights and any required allowlisting before using third-party material. YouTube’s terms require providers to have the necessary rights for worldwide exploitation on Google services and to comply with applicable laws and regulations.
