To keep prerecorded Spanish-language sermons playing on YouTube, enable livestreaming on the church’s channel, create a stream in YouTube Studio, and connect an encoder—or use a cloud service that loops uploaded video. A true 24/7 broadcast also needs a plan for power, internet interruptions, playback, rights, monitoring, and archives; YouTube’s setup guidance does not promise uninterrupted service.
Choose how the sermons will play
YouTube supports software encoders and standalone hardware encoders. For prerecorded sermons, the key choice is how the video playlist will keep playing and who or what will recover it if something interrupts the stream.

Whichever route you choose, continuous operation depends on the playback system, internet connection, power, content playlist, and a person or service responsible for monitoring and recovery. YouTube recommends advance setup, testing, and monitoring rather than guaranteeing a 24/7 service.
Prepare the channel and schedule
- Enable livestreaming early. The channel must be verified and must not have had a live-streaming restriction in the previous 90 days. First-time activation can take up to 24 hours, so do this before the planned launch.
- Open YouTube Studio’s Go Live area. Create a stream or schedule one in Live Control Room. Scheduling provides an upcoming watch page that can be shared with the congregation.
- Set the viewer-facing details. Use a clear Spanish title and description, an appropriate thumbnail, and the intended visibility setting. Confirm that the schedule and description make clear this is a continuous feed of prerecorded sermons, not a live camera broadcast.
- Choose the stream settings. Use settings supported by your encoder and production workflow. YouTube’s setup material does not establish one bitrate, resolution, or frame rate as right for every church; match the source and available upload capacity, then test the complete path.
Connect an encoder to YouTube
- In Live Control Room, copy the stream URL and stream key for the scheduled or created stream.
- In the encoder, paste the URL into its server or ingest field and the key into its stream-key field. If the encoder offers RTMPS, select it for encrypted transport.
- Treat the stream key like a password. Do not publish it, put it in a public document, or share it beyond trusted operators. Reset it in YouTube if it is exposed.
- Load the sermon playlist or playback source into the encoder workflow. Confirm that it advances in the intended order and returns to the intended starting point rather than stopping at the end.
Test before announcing the channel
- Start the encoder early and confirm that Live Control Room receives the feed and shows a usable preview.
- Check the public or unlisted watch page from both a computer and a phone. Confirm the Spanish title, description, visibility, picture, and sound.
- Listen for consistent sermon audio and verify that video and audio remain synchronized during a longer test.
- Test the playlist through an end-of-video transition and confirm the next sermon starts as expected.
- If the setup supports a backup encoder, test failover and account for the extra bandwidth it uses.
- If local recording is part of the archive plan, make a test recording and verify that it can be played back.
Size the internet connection for continuous streaming
Use upload capacity—not the advertised download speed—as the constraint. YouTube says the total streaming bitrate must fit within available upload bandwidth and recommends 20% headroom. If a primary and backup stream run at the same time, budget for both bitrates plus that headroom. Shared connections can reduce the capacity available to the encoder, so test under realistic church network conditions.

Keep the encoder and network health under observation. Assign a specific person or team to respond to a dropped feed, power loss, failed playback, or a playlist that stops advancing; an unattended plan without recovery responsibility can leave the channel offline.
Protect sermon and worship rights
The church is responsible for having the rights needed for both the live feed and any resulting archive. YouTube’s livestream terms require rights for worldwide exploitation, including applicable music licensing rights. Confirm permission for sermon recordings, worship music, backing tracks, photographs, slides, and other third-party material before adding them to a continuous stream. A church’s permission to perform or use a song in one context should not be assumed to cover streaming or archiving it.

Plan archives separately from the 24/7 feed
YouTube says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived. Do not rely on one continuous broadcast lasting 24 hours or longer to produce a complete automatic archive. If individual sermon recordings matter, arrange and test local recording or divide programming into shorter stream sessions, weighing the additional operational work and any interruptions this creates.
