You can use StreamShark’s Live Scheduler to play a lineup of prerecorded videos as a continuous YouTube stream. First confirm that your account has Live Scheduler access—StreamShark says it requires a subscription plan with a Dedicated Server attached—and ask StreamShark how your account currently routes a scheduler output to YouTube. Its documentation describes YouTube restreaming generally, but does not specify the exact Live Scheduler-to-YouTube connection steps.
Before you start: check access and the YouTube connection
- Confirm Live Scheduler access. StreamShark says Live Scheduler is available on subscription plans with a Dedicated Server attached. Contact your representative or account manager to check access or ask about a trial before preparing a large playlist.
- Confirm the destination workflow. StreamShark documents native YouTube restreaming, but the available instructions do not establish the exact current steps for connecting a Live Scheduler output to a YouTube destination. Confirm the controls for your account with StreamShark support rather than assuming that a separate encoder or a particular button is required.
- Check YouTube eligibility. YouTube’s current general guidance requires a verified channel with no live-streaming restriction in the previous 90 days. First-time live-streaming activation may take up to 24 hours, so enable it well before your planned start.
Prepare compatible videos in StreamShark
- Open the VOD area in StreamShark. Upload a source file smaller than 5 GB from your computer. For a file larger than 5 GB, upload it to the file bucket first, then select it from there.
- Choose the encoding profile. For a new video, select Live Scheduler HD. For existing VOD, change the encoding profile in that video’s settings.
- Add metadata and check asset status. The videos must be active and compatible with Live Scheduler. Allow time for processing and syncing; a video that has not synced is not ready for a schedule.
- Plan the lineup. Decide the order of videos and whether you want the playlist to repeat indefinitely. Check that you have the rights to stream each video and its audio on YouTube; a continuous schedule does not grant permission to use copyrighted material.
Create a Live Schedule and turn on looping
- Create a Live Schedule in StreamShark and give it a clear title.
- Choose how it starts: select a scheduled start or a manual start, depending on the options available in your account.
- Add the prepared videos and arrange them in the order you want viewers to see them.
- Enable Loop Content in the schedule options. With looping enabled, the playlist keeps playing until someone manually stops the broadcast. Without it, the schedule ends when its videos finish.
- Review the schedule and destination setup. Interface labels and layout can differ: StreamShark says its redesigned interface is being rolled out, and its instructions also describe the legacy interface. Confirm the YouTube routing for your account before relying on the schedule to go live.
Wait for readiness, then start the stream
- Wait until the selected videos have finished syncing and the schedule is ready.
- For a manual start, use Go Live Now when the schedule is ready. For a scheduled start, let it begin at the configured time.
- Check the YouTube destination using the workflow StreamShark confirms for your account. Do not assume the general YouTube encoder instructions are identical to StreamShark’s native restream setup.
- Monitor the stream after it starts and verify that the expected video is playing. A looping schedule continues until manually stopped, so plan who can stop it and when.
When YouTube’s stream key applies
YouTube’s standard encoder workflow uses a stream URL and stream key. YouTube describes stream keys as the credentials that act like a stream’s password and address. In YouTube Studio, the usual encoder workflow is to enable live streaming, open the Live Control Room, create or schedule a stream, and enter the URL and key in the encoder. First-time activation may take up to 24 hours.
Those are general encoder instructions, not confirmation that StreamShark’s Live Scheduler uses the same controls. Ask StreamShark which destination setup applies to your scheduler output. Treat the stream key as a secret: do not publish it or share it with anyone who should not be able to broadcast to your channel.
Do you need OBS or an encoder?
No—not for the documented prerecorded-video loop. Live Scheduler plays prepared VOD as a live feed, so OBS or a hardware encoder is not a required part of that workflow. An encoder is relevant when you are sending a live camera, event feed, or other live input through StreamShark.

- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
Optional: StreamShark with OBS for a live input
- Create a live stream in the StreamShark portal.
- In OBS, select a custom streaming server and enter the Server URL and Stream Name supplied by the StreamShark portal.
- Match OBS resolution and video and audio bitrates to the StreamShark transcode profile you selected. StreamShark’s OBS guide lists 1080p at 5,000 Kbps video and 128 Kbps audio, and 720p at 3,000 Kbps video and 128 Kbps audio. These are guide settings, not universal recommendations for every channel, connection, or destination.
- Test before the event, check the YouTube Live Control Room preview, and monitor stream quality. If you have configured a backup encoder, check its failover as part of your test.
StreamShark describes both software and hardware encoders for live input. The figures above are StreamShark guide values; choose settings for the selected profile and test your actual setup rather than treating them as a guarantee of quality.
Copyright, reused material, and archives
Use content you are entitled to stream
Only schedule videos and audio you have permission to broadcast on YouTube. Owning a copy of a video, or finding it online, does not by itself establish that you may rebroadcast it. A 24/7 loop can repeatedly expose the same material, so review the rights for every item in the playlist before going live.

Do not assume a continuous stream becomes one complete archive
YouTube says streams shorter than 12 hours are automatically archived. That guidance does not establish what happens to a broadcast that runs longer than 12 hours, so do not rely on one uninterrupted 24/7 stream being available afterward as a complete archive. Keep source files separately if you need your own copy.
Troubleshooting a StreamShark 24/7 schedule
| Problem | Likely cause | What to check |
|---|---|---|
| Live Scheduler is unavailable | The account may not have the required plan access. | Ask your StreamShark representative or account manager whether your subscription has a Dedicated Server attached and whether Live Scheduler is enabled. |
| A video cannot be added or the schedule is not ready | The asset may be inactive, incompatible, still processing, or not yet synced. | Check the asset status and encoding profile. Use Live Scheduler HD, then allow processing and syncing to finish. |
| A large upload is not available from your computer | The V2 instructions distinguish computer uploads below 5 GB from larger files. | Upload a file larger than 5 GB to the file bucket first, then select it from there. |
| The playlist stops after the last video | Loop Content may not be enabled. | Open the schedule options and enable Loop Content. Without it, the schedule ends when the videos finish. |
| The schedule is ready, but the YouTube connection is unclear | The exact scheduler-output routing steps are not established by the general YouTube encoder instructions. | Ask StreamShark support which YouTube destination workflow applies to your account. Do not substitute OBS or invent a scheduler setting without confirmation. |
| YouTube will not let the channel go live | The channel may not be verified, may have a recent live-streaming restriction, or may not have completed first-time activation. | Check YouTube’s live-streaming eligibility and activation status. First-time activation may take up to 24 hours. |
| The stream is missing from the archive | YouTube’s automatic-archive guidance covers streams shorter than 12 hours, not a continuous stream exceeding that duration. | Do not depend on a full 24/7 broadcast becoming one complete archive; retain the source videos separately if needed. |
