To stream Marathi sleep sounds with OBS, first confirm your YouTube channel can livestream and that you have the rights to every recording, composition and visual you plan to use. Then build a simple OBS scene, connect it to YouTube’s Live Control Room, test the sound and picture, and start the broadcast. For a stream that must keep running while your computer is off, see the cloud option below.
Before you set up the stream
Confirm you have permission to broadcast the sounds
Check the rights for each sound recording and its underlying composition separately. Your permission should cover transmission in a YouTube livestream and, if you plan to keep a replay, that archived use too. For third-party licensed audio, ask the rights owner whether your channel must be added to its Content ID allowlist.
YouTube scans live streams for third-party matches. A detected match can lead to a warning, a placeholder replacing the stream, interruption or termination. A license by itself may not prevent that interruption if the rights owner has not allowlisted your channel. Read YouTube’s guidance on copyright issues with live streams and resolve any required allowlisting before going live.
Do not assume that “royalty-free,” material found online, or attribution alone grants the permissions you need. Confirm the actual terms for the particular recording, composition and image. A recording you made yourself does not automatically settle every underlying right or platform issue.

Check YouTube livestream eligibility
YouTube’s current live-streaming guidance says a channel must be verified and must not have had a live-streaming restriction in the previous 90 days. Open YouTube Studio’s Live Control Room and verify that your account can create an encoder stream before preparing the event. Eligibility can change, so rely on the current account status rather than an old tutorial’s activation instructions.
Build a simple scene in OBS
Add the audio and visual sources
Create or select a scene in OBS, then add the Marathi sleep recording as an audio source and a calm still image or loop as the visual. OBS starts with a blank scene; its Quick Start Guide explains how to add sources and configure audio devices. Choose the signal path that matches how your sound is supplied: a media or file source is different from audio arriving through a device input.

Check the audio signal
- Play the intended sound and watch the Audio Mixer meters in OBS. They should move while the audio plays.
- If the expected meter stays still or the wrong device is active, open Settings → Audio and select the relevant device.
- Check that the visual appears in the OBS preview and that the selected scene contains the sources you intend to broadcast.
OBS’s Auto-Configuration Wizard, available from Tools, can help tune initial settings for your computer and network. The sources cited here do not establish a Marathi-specific bitrate, resolution, keyframe interval or computer specification; avoid treating an unverified preset as a requirement.
Connect OBS to YouTube and test before publishing
- In YouTube Studio’s Live Control Room, follow the current encoder-stream workflow to create or prepare the stream.
- Connect OBS through the YouTube account/service option or enter the stream details YouTube provides in its current interface. Keep the stream key private; anyone with access to it may be able to send video to your stream.
- Start a short test and check both the OBS preview and YouTube’s control room. Confirm the intended audio is audible, the visual is present and the stream arrives in YouTube.
- Review the control room for stream-health information and copyright notices before making the broadcast public or completing YouTube’s go-live action.
OBS recommends a test lasting a few minutes instead of jumping straight into a first stream. Its interface and YouTube’s encoder workflow can change, so use the labels currently shown in your installations rather than relying on screenshots from an older tutorial.

Go live and monitor the broadcast
Start the encoder output in OBS, then complete the go-live action in YouTube Studio if the current workflow requires it. Keep an eye on the control room for stream health and copyright notices. If YouTube reports a third-party match, follow the notice: resolve the rights or remove the matched material. Leaving it in place can interrupt or terminate the stream.
OBS streams from the computer running it, so continuity depends on that host and its connection. The official guidance cited here does not promise continuous uptime or specify a required computer, power backup or upload plan for unattended, around-the-clock broadcasting.
