Add games to your Steam Wishlist to keep them together and receive sale notifications from Steam. For price history or alerts across stores, pair it with a third-party tracker such as SteamDB or IsThereAnyDeal.
Add a game to your Steam Wishlist

Sign in to Steam and open the game’s storefront page.

Select Add to your Wishlist on the game page.

Open Store → Wishlist in the Steam client or while signed in on the Steam website to view and manage your list.

Organize and filter the list
Reorder games to put likely purchases near the top, or remove titles you no longer want to track. Steam’s Wishlist has also offered sorting and filters for discounts, price tiers, tags, Early Access status, and release availability. Valve documented those filters in 2018, so check the current interface for the controls and labels available to your account.
Valve’s July 2026 announcement describes custom categories, improved search, demo availability indicators and alerts, and share links for a category or filtered view. Availability and presentation may vary by client or region. You could create your own categories for purposes such as “Waiting for a sale” or “Birthday ideas”; these are examples, not guaranteed preset category names. Enable Steam sale notifications
Steam can notify you by email or through the Steam mobile app when wishlisted games are on sale. Review your Steam notification or account settings to choose how you want to receive alerts. You can opt out of email notifications or turn off mobile notifications. Steam gives Daily Deal, Midweek Deal, and Weekend Deal as examples; notification timing and coverage are not a guarantee of an instant alert for every price change. Steam Wishlist Notifications
Choose a tracker for price history or broader alerts
Steam’s alerts are convenient if you mainly want a sale notice without leaving Steam. If you want historical price context or configurable tracking, compare the options below and check each service’s current features and settings.

Use SteamDB for Steam price history
Look up a game on SteamDB to inspect its price history. To maintain a watchlist, create a SteamDB account; the service also describes a way to import a Steam Wishlist manually. Its history and watchlist are separate from Steam’s own notifications. SteamDB

Check privacy before sharing your Wishlist
Steam Wishlist visibility is tied to your Steam Community Profile privacy settings. Review those settings if you do not want your list visible to others. Valve’s 2026 announcement also describes share links for categories or filtered views; check what a link reveals before sending it, and revoke it if that option is available and you no longer want it shared.
