How to Set Up a Tebex Webshop on a CS2 Server: Integration Options and Safe Launch Steps

By VGSources Team 10 min read

You can create a Tebex webshop for a Counter-Strike 2 community, but Tebex’s public documentation does not currently establish a native CS2 plugin. The public integration catalog lists Counter-Strike: GO, not Counter-Strike 2, so a CS:GO entry must not be treated as proof of CS2 compatibility. A working launch therefore depends on either a Tebex-confirmed CS2 integration or a custom delivery bridge that Tebex agrees to support.

The safe process is to create the Tebex project, define packages and their server-side effects, confirm the delivery method before accepting money, protect the game-server secret, run a no-real-money test payment, and submit the project for review. Do not publish a store that collects payments until you have verified that a purchase produces the intended result for a CS2 player.

What Tebex can and cannot establish for CS2

Tebex’s documented onboarding flow is game-agnostic: create a project, configure the store or API integration, create packages, implement delivery, make a test payment, submit the project for review, and then go live. The developer guide explicitly instructs creators to “Make a test payment.” That test is a no-real-money check before launch, not evidence that a particular game integration works.

For game servers, Tebex recommends its plugin method when an official plugin exists. The game-server guide says plugins poll for new purchase commands every minute and can support offline players. It describes MySQL as a more advanced method with limited offline support, while RCON can send commands without a plugin but cannot execute commands for offline players. Those capabilities describe Tebex’s integration patterns generally; they do not confirm that any of them is implemented for CS2.

The public Control Panel catalog lists “Counter-Strike: GO” under Game Server Integrations and does not list “Counter-Strike 2.” The practical conclusion is narrow but important: there is no publicly documented, native CS2 Tebex plugin that you can safely install based on the catalog alone.

Choose your delivery path before selling anything

A webshop is only complete when Tebex can turn a paid package into a controlled action on your server. Select the path by checking support status, player availability, reliability, security, and operations—not by assuming that a similarly named game is compatible.

Approach What the public documentation establishes CS2 implication Operational considerations
Official Tebex plugin Tebex labels the plugin method “Tebex Plugin (Recommended)” where a supported plugin is available. Plugins poll for new commands every minute and support offline players. No CS2-specific plugin is listed in the public catalog. Support must be confirmed by Tebex before use. Usually the simplest supported model when available; still requires server testing and secure configuration.
MySQL delivery Tebex describes MySQL as an advanced option with limited offline support. Public material does not establish a CS2 MySQL integration or schema. Requires database administration, permissions, monitoring, and a verified consumer that applies commands correctly.
RCON RCON can send commands without a plugin but does not execute commands for offline players. CS2 command syntax and a Tebex-ready CS2 RCON configuration are not established by the cited documentation. Requires a continuously reachable RCON endpoint, strict access control, command validation, and handling for retries and failures.
RCON Adapter The self-hosted adapter queries pending package commands and executes them through RCON. Tebex’s supported list names Conan Exiles, Minecraft Java, Minecraft Bedrock, Minecraft Offline/Geyser, Rust, ARK: Survival Evolved, and 7 Days To Die. CS2 is not on that supported list. Treat CS2 use as unverified until Tebex confirms it. Runs on an always-online virtual machine, dedicated server, or game-server host; support status must be settled in writing before launch.
Custom API or RCON bridge Tebex’s Game Server API is intended for command execution, and Tebex says an RCON Adapter can be used when no plugin exists. A custom CS2 bridge is an engineering project, not a documented one-click integration. You own identity mapping, retries, idempotency, logging, refunds, chargebacks, uptime, and incident recovery unless Tebex confirms a supported design.

Before building a bridge, ask Tebex whether the proposed CS2 delivery method is supported, whether the account may use it commercially, and which API or adapter behavior they expect. Keep the answer with your project records. A technically functioning connector is not automatically a Tebex-supported connector.

Step 1: Create and configure the Tebex project

Start with Tebex’s getting-started sequence. Use a project name and store identity that match the CS2 community players will recognize. During configuration, choose the closest game-server or API setup only when the resulting integration is confirmed for CS2; do not select a CS:GO option simply because CS2 is its successor.

  1. Create the project. Record the project identifier, store URL, staff accounts, and the person responsible for technical delivery.
  2. Configure the store or API integration. Decide where package commands will be obtained and where they will be executed. If the panel offers no CS2-specific choice, pause and obtain Tebex confirmation before accepting payments.
  3. Separate test and production credentials. Use the least-privileged account and host possible for development. Never paste a production secret into a public configuration file, chat message, repository, tutorial, or screenshot.
  4. Document the delivery contract. For every package, write the player identifier supplied by the checkout, the server-side action, expected success signal, retry behavior, and reversal procedure.

Step 2: Design categories and packages around verifiable delivery

Build the shop only after you know what the server can safely apply. Categories are useful for navigation, but the package definition is the important technical boundary: it tells your delivery system exactly what to do after payment.

Define one outcome per package

Describe the entitlement in player terms and in implementation terms. For example, a package might grant a defined server-side entitlement to the purchaser’s verified account. Do not promise a cosmetic, rank, item, or privilege unless your CS2 backend can actually grant it and you have a documented way to revoke it.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Specify the player identity

Decide which identifier your bridge will trust and how it is matched to a CS2 player. Checkout names, display names, and mutable aliases are not interchangeable. Your design should reject ambiguous identities, record the identifier used, and provide a staff recovery process for a player who entered the wrong value.

Make package effects idempotent

A delivery worker may retry after a timeout. A package action should therefore be safe to run again or should detect that it has already succeeded. Store a unique purchase or command reference, log each attempt, and prevent a retry from granting a duplicate entitlement unless duplication is explicitly intended.

Write customer-facing limits

State whether delivery requires the player to be online, whether it can take up to the plugin’s polling interval, what happens during a server restart, and how a player contacts staff when delivery fails. Do not advertise offline delivery if your chosen RCON path cannot execute commands for offline players.

Step 3: If Tebex confirms an official CS2 integration

If Tebex confirms that a CS2 plugin or connector is supported for your account, follow the provider’s current installation instructions rather than adapting a CS:GO package yourself. The general Tebex plugin model is a polling worker: it checks for pending purchase commands about once per minute and can process commands for offline players where the plugin supports that behavior.

  1. Install the exact plugin or connector version and dependencies specified by Tebex for CS2.
  2. Enter its project credentials on the server host, restricting file and process permissions so unrelated services cannot read them.
  3. Connect a staging or private server first. Create a low-risk test package whose effect is easy to verify and reverse.
  4. Confirm the connector retrieves a pending command, applies the effect to the intended account, records success, and does not execute the same purchase repeatedly.
  5. Test an online player, an offline player if the confirmed integration promises that capability, a server restart during delivery, and a temporarily unavailable Tebex endpoint.
  6. Only after these checks should you attach the production server and request review.

If Tebex cannot point you to a current CS2-specific plugin page or support statement, treat the plugin route as unconfirmed and use the bridge decision process below.

Step 4: Evaluate an RCON or API bridge without overstating support

Tebex describes its RCON Adapter as a self-hosted application that queries pending package commands and executes them over RCON. It can run on an always-online virtual machine, dedicated server, or game-server host. However, its officially supported game list does not include CS2. Installing it and hoping that generic RCON commands happen to work is not a supported setup.

Ask Tebex for a support decision

Provide Tebex with the proposed CS2 server architecture, the connector or adapter version, the account and player-identity format, and the commands or backend actions you intend to execute. Ask whether the design is supported, whether offline delivery is possible, what webhook or polling guarantees apply, and how refunds and chargebacks should be handled.

Keep the bridge on an always-online host

A bridge that is offline cannot retrieve or acknowledge pending commands. Place it on a continuously available virtual machine, dedicated server, or game-server host, and monitor process health, disk space, clock accuracy, network reachability, and queue age. CS2 compatibility and Tebex support for a particular host remain separate questions.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Build a delivery pipeline, not a single command

  • Receive: obtain pending commands through the Tebex-approved API or adapter path.
  • Validate: verify the package, player identity, server target, and purchase reference before execution.
  • Authorize: allow only an explicit list of actions; do not pass arbitrary customer text to RCON.
  • Execute: send the approved action through the controlled CS2 interface.
  • Confirm: capture a success or failure result and the server response.
  • Retry safely: retry transient failures with a bounded policy while preserving idempotency.
  • Escalate: move permanent failures to a visible queue for staff rather than silently discarding them.

Protect the game-server secret and API traffic

Tebex authentication uses a game-server secret key obtained from the creator panel. Tebex requires the key in the X-Tebex-Secret header and requires HTTPS for API requests, as described in the authentication documentation.

Run the complete test-payment procedure

Do not stop at “the checkout succeeded.” Tebex’s onboarding sequence requires a test payment before launch, and your test must cover the entire path from purchase record to in-game result.

  1. Create a test package with a reversible, low-impact effect.
  2. Use Tebex’s test-payment flow so no real money is charged.
  3. Confirm the purchase appears in the connector’s pending queue.
  4. Verify that the bridge maps the intended player identity and target server.
  5. Observe the command or backend action being executed and record its result.
  6. Check the player in CS2 and confirm the entitlement is present exactly once.
  7. Restart the connector or server at controlled points to test recovery from interruption.
  8. Force a safe transient failure, such as temporarily stopping the delivery worker, and verify that the purchase remains visible and is retried rather than lost.
  9. Test an offline account only if your confirmed integration supports offline delivery. RCON-only delivery cannot execute commands for an offline player.
  10. Remove the test entitlement and archive the logs, timestamps, package identifier, and outcome.

Submit for review and move to production

After the test passes, submit the project for Tebex review. Review is a launch gate, not a substitute for technical testing. Keep your package descriptions accurate, explain any online-only limitations, and ensure that the advertised deliverable matches what the CS2 server actually applies.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Before switching the store live, use this release checklist:

  • Tebex has confirmed the CS2 integration or accepted the proposed bridge.
  • Every package has a documented, tested server-side effect.
  • Player identity validation rejects ambiguous or malformed values.
  • The X-Tebex-Secret key is private and API traffic uses HTTPS.
  • The delivery host is always online and monitored.
  • Retries, duplicate prevention, refunds, and chargebacks have assigned procedures.
  • Staff can inspect pending, successful, failed, and escalated deliveries.
  • Customer copy states online or offline requirements and realistic timing.
  • A test payment completed successfully without charging real money.
  • Tebex review is complete before real purchases are accepted.

Troubleshoot by failure stage

The purchase exists, but no command is retrieved

Check that the connector is running, the project identifier is correct, the secret is valid, HTTPS requests are succeeding, and the host clock and firewall are functioning. Inspect queue age and connector logs without exposing credentials. If the design is a custom bridge, confirm that Tebex approved the API path rather than assuming that a generic endpoint is sufficient.

The command is retrieved but the wrong player receives it

Stop delivery, preserve the purchase reference, and review the identity mapping. Do not retry until the account identifier and server target are corrected. A display name collision or stale alias should be treated as a validation failure, not as permission to guess.

The command fails repeatedly

Separate transient failures—such as a temporary server or network outage—from permanent failures such as an unsupported action or invalid account. Keep the purchase in an observable retry or escalation state, cap retries, and give staff enough context to resolve it without replaying an already successful entitlement.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

An offline player receives nothing

That may be an expected limitation. Tebex’s general guidance says plugins can support offline players, while RCON does not execute commands for offline players and MySQL has limited offline support. Confirm the exact behavior of your Tebex-approved CS2 integration and state the requirement clearly in the package description.

The adapter works technically but Tebex will not support it

Do not continue selling on that assumption. The public RCON Adapter list excludes CS2, so obtain a direct support decision or redesign the delivery path before launch.

What a maintainable CS2 Tebex shop looks like

A maintainable setup has a small, explicit package catalog; a documented identity format; a delivery worker that is always online; private credentials; HTTPS; idempotent execution; searchable logs; and a human escalation path. It also treats Tebex support status as a requirement. Because public documentation does not provide CS2 command syntax or a CS2 plugin download, the missing integration details must come from Tebex or from an integration you have independently engineered and had Tebex approve.
