To send Palworld server alerts to Discord, create a webhook in the Discord channel that should receive messages, copy its URL, then paste that URL into your Palworld host’s Discord or community integration settings. Enable the events you want—such as server start, stop, restart, updates, or player joins and leaves—and save. On a self-hosted Docker server, the same connection is configured with environment variables instead of a control-panel field.

The webhook URL is a credential: anyone who obtains it can post in that channel. Keep it out of public compose files, screenshots, logs, and chat, and rotate it in Discord immediately if it is exposed.

What you need before configuring notifications
The setup has two separate parts: a destination in Discord and a Palworld deployment that can send HTTP requests to Discord. Have these ready:
- Administrator or channel-management permission in the Discord server.
- Access to the Palworld host’s control panel, container settings, or compose environment.
- A maintenance window for one controlled restart or another test event.
- The exact documentation for your Docker image or hosting panel. Variable names differ between images, and a setting documented for one image may do nothing in another.
- A decision about who should see alerts. A private administrator channel is usually better for start, stop, update, and error messages than a general player chat.
Basic webhook posting does not require RCON or the REST API. Those interfaces can be useful for broader administration, but they are separate from the Discord connection. You also do not need to expose any additional inbound port merely to send a webhook; the host needs outbound HTTPS access to Discord.

Create the Discord webhook
- Open the Discord server and select the channel where Palworld alerts should appear.
- Open the channel’s settings, choose Integrations, then Webhooks.
- Create a new webhook and give it a recognizable name, such as “Palworld status.”
- Copy the complete webhook URL and store it temporarily in a password manager or another protected location.
Verify the destination before leaving this screen. A webhook belongs to one channel, so creating it in a general chat when you intended a private administrator channel will route every alert to the wrong audience. Check the channel’s visibility and posting permissions as well: the webhook can post even when ordinary members cannot, but people still need permission to view the channel.
Do not paste the URL into a public support post or commit it to a public repository. Discord’s guidance in the Palworld Cloud documentation is explicit: “Keep this URL private! Anyone with this URL can post to your channel.” The URL is effectively a password for posting, not merely an identifier.

Managed hosts usually expose a web control panel. The labels vary, but the workflow is consistent.
1. Open the server’s integration settings
Sign in to the host panel, select the Palworld server, and open Settings or a Community section. Look for a field labelled Discord Webhook URL, Webhook URL, or similar. If the panel has separate notification controls, keep the webhook field and event controls together while configuring them.
2. Paste and enable the connection
Paste the complete URL without quotation marks or added spaces. If the panel has an enable switch, turn it on. Select the events you need, then save or apply the configuration. Some panels apply changes immediately; others require a server restart. Use the panel’s stated behavior rather than assuming a restart is harmless.
3. Start with a small event set
For most administrators, start with server start and stop notifications. They confirm that scheduled restarts and downtime are visible without flooding a busy channel. Add restart, update, fresh-install, or player join and leave alerts only when those messages serve a specific operational purpose.

4. Confirm the panel accepted the URL
Reopen the settings page after saving. A blank field, truncated value, or disabled toggle means the integration was not stored. If the panel masks secrets, check only that a value is present; do not expose the URL by copying it into a browser or chat window.

Provider features that can help
A managed Palworld service may combine the webhook with automatic backups, SSH access, RCON, or a REST API. These features can simplify operations, but they do not replace webhook configuration. Palworld Cloud, for example, lists game port 8211, query port 27015, RCON port 25575, and REST API port 8212 in its hosted-server overview. Those values describe other interfaces; a failed Discord alert is not fixed by changing the game or RCON port.
Configure a self-hosted Docker deployment
Docker deployments generally configure notifications through container environment variables. The exact names are image-specific, so use the documentation shipped with the image you run.

Add the values to the container configuration
- Stop or otherwise safely pause the Palworld container according to your deployment procedure.
- Open the compose file, container environment editor, or secret-management interface used by your image.
- Add the image’s documented enable flag and webhook URL variable. Preserve the URL exactly; do not insert line breaks.
- If the image provides event-specific switches, enable only the events you want. Some images also provide message-template, suppression, or timeout variables.
- Redeploy or recreate the container so it reads the new environment. A file edit alone does not change variables in an already-created container.
- Inspect the startup output for configuration errors without printing the secret. Redact the URL if the runtime echoes environment values.
Per-event message variables are not standardized across Palworld images. One image may call a setting a start-message template, while another may use a separate enable flag and text variable. Copy the names and accepted values from the current documentation for your image instead of transferring a block from a different project.
Keep secrets out of version control
If a compose file is stored in Git, use an environment file or secret mechanism that is excluded from the repository. A private repository is still not a substitute for secret handling: logs, pull requests, backups, and screenshots can expose the URL. If exposure occurs, rotate the webhook in Discord and replace the value in the container configuration.

Choose which Palworld events Discord should receive
Server start and stop
Start and stop alerts are the essential pair. They show when the process becomes available and when it shuts down, which is useful for scheduled maintenance, unexpected crashes, and checking whether a restart completed.
Restart events
A restart notification can be more useful than separate stop and start messages when your wrapper emits a single restart event. If both are enabled, check how the image reports them; otherwise one maintenance action may produce several messages. This matters when a scheduler performs frequent restarts and a channel needs one concise status update rather than a burst of duplicate posts.
Updates and fresh installations
Update and fresh-install events help administrators distinguish a planned deployment from an ordinary restart. Enable them in an administrative channel rather than a player-facing chat if deployment details are not relevant to players. A fresh-install alert can also serve as a reminder to verify world data and backups before inviting players back.
Player join and leave
Join and leave messages are useful for a small community or moderation workflow, but they can become noisy on an active server. If the image supports suppression, silent mode, batching, or separate channels, use those controls rather than disabling operational alerts entirely. Consider sending high-volume presence events to a dedicated channel while retaining start, stop, and update alerts in the main operations channel.

Message customization
Some Docker wrappers expose event-specific message variables. Treat those as image features, not Palworld-wide settings. Confirm whether a variable changes the message text, enables an event, or suppresses it; similar names can have different effects. Before relying on a custom template, trigger the event once and check that important details such as the event type and server name remain understandable.
Test the integration without disrupting players
- Choose a maintenance window and tell connected players that a short test may occur.
- Save the managed-panel configuration or redeploy the Docker container.
- Trigger one controlled event, preferably a restart during the announced window. For join and leave notifications, use a test account or a volunteer rather than repeatedly connecting production players.
- Check the intended Discord channel for a message and confirm that the event description matches what happened.
- Check the Palworld host logs for a rejected request, disabled event, timeout, or malformed configuration if no message appears.
- After the test, leave only the events that are operationally useful. A working integration can still be a poor configuration if it overwhelms the channel.
The test should prove delivery to the selected channel; it does not prove that every event type is supported by your particular host or Docker image. Test each additional event only if you intend to rely on it. If a scheduled restart is your main use case, test one real maintenance cycle rather than assuming a successful save means the restart notification will fire.

Choose a managed panel when a graphical workflow and provider-managed operations matter most. Choose Docker when you need configuration-level control and are comfortable tracking image-specific settings. The Discord webhook itself works the same way in both cases; only the place where the connection is configured changes. A managed plan may reduce setup effort, while Docker shifts more responsibility—and more control—to the administrator.

Ports and interfaces you may see on a managed server
Palworld Cloud’s overview lists these example ports for its hosted deployment:

These ports are not required for basic webhook posting. They are useful context when diagnosing a larger hosting setup, but opening or forwarding them will not fix a webhook URL or event-setting error. Keep any administrative interface protected according to the provider’s guidance; do not expose RCON or the REST API merely because Discord notifications are enabled.

The server runs, but no message appears
- Confirm the webhook is enabled in the panel or with the container’s documented enable variable.
- Check that the URL is complete and belongs to the intended channel.
- Verify that the event you triggered is enabled. A configured webhook does not necessarily subscribe to every event.
- Look for a host firewall, outbound policy, or network failure preventing HTTPS access to Discord.
- Check Discord’s webhook entry for deletion or replacement. A rotated or deleted webhook makes the old value unusable even when the Palworld settings are unchanged.
The URL appears correct, but Docker ignores it
Compare the variable name character-for-character with the image documentation. WEBHOOK_URL and DISCORD_WEBHOOK_URL are examples of distinct names. After changing an environment file, recreate or redeploy the container; an existing container may retain its original environment. Also confirm that the compose service you recreated is the one actually running the Palworld process.
Only some event types arrive
Check each event-specific switch separately. Join and leave, update, fresh-install, restart, and start/stop notifications may be implemented independently. A wrapper can support one category while omitting another, even though the webhook connection itself is valid. Read the image’s current settings page for supported events and defaults rather than assuming feature parity between images.
Messages arrive late or not at all
Inspect timeout settings when the image exposes them. A value that is too restrictive can cause the wrapper to abandon a request before Discord responds. Review container logs for timeout or request errors, then use the image’s documented timeout format rather than guessing. Avoid repeatedly restarting the server as a test; repeated failures can create noise without identifying whether the problem is networking, authentication, or event selection.
Messages go to the wrong place
Open Discord’s webhook list and verify the channel associated with the URL. If the webhook was created in the wrong channel, create or select one in the correct destination and replace the configured URL. Do not try to solve a channel mismatch with event settings.
A public post or log contains the URL
Delete the exposed copy where possible, rotate or delete the webhook in Discord, create a replacement, and update the Palworld host. Treat the old URL as compromised even if no unwanted message has appeared yet. Check automated backups and build logs as well, because they may retain the original value after the visible copy is removed.

- Limit the Discord channel’s visibility to the people who need operational alerts.
- Store the URL as a secret and redact it from tickets, screenshots, backups, and diagnostic output.
- Review enabled events after major image or panel changes; defaults can differ between deployments.
- Use a maintenance channel for verbose join and leave traffic, while keeping concise start and stop alerts in the main administrator channel.
- Rotate the webhook whenever its audience changes or its URL may have been copied.
- Keep the host’s Docker image and management panel current, but read the current image documentation before changing variable names or message settings.
When to use RCON or the REST API instead
Discord webhooks are one-way notifications: the Palworld deployment posts an event to a channel. RCON and REST API access serve different purposes, such as issuing administrative commands or integrating a separate management system. A managed host may expose both, but enabling them is optional for start, stop, and player activity alerts. Add those interfaces only when you have a specific administrative workflow and understand their authentication and network requirements.
Practical configuration checklist
- Destination channel selected and verified.
- Webhook created under Discord’s Integrations and Webhooks settings.
- URL copied privately and pasted without alteration.
- Correct managed-panel field or Docker variable confirmed.
- Webhook enable switch turned on.
- Only the required event types enabled.
- Container recreated after environment changes, when using Docker.
- One controlled event tested during a maintenance window.
- Logs checked without exposing the URL.
- Webhook rotated if it was ever disclosed.
