To keep a live Hindi prayer gathering on YouTube, set up a verified, eligible channel, build an OBS scene with the prayer video and a clear audio feed, connect OBS using the stream URL and key from YouTube Studio, then test the stream and monitor it. OBS can keep sending a broadcast while the computer and connection remain available; it does not guarantee unattended 24/7 operation. If you mean continuous playback of prerecorded prayer videos rather than a live gathering, see the cloud-streaming option below.

First decide what “nonstop” means for your stream

Broadcasting a live prayer gathering

OBS is suitable when a person, camera or microphone is sending a real prayer gathering to YouTube. The computer, power, internet connection and audio/video sources all need to keep working, and someone should be able to notice and respond to problems. Hindi content does not require special encoder settings; choose video and audio settings based on the scene, equipment and connection.

Looping prerecorded prayer content

If the goal is to play uploaded recordings continuously, that is different from broadcasting a live gathering. OBS can send a computer-generated stream, but the computer and local connection still have to run. StreamNeo is a separate cloud option for looping uploaded videos to YouTube; it does not broadcast a live camera or prayer gathering. Its use is appropriate only if prerecorded playback fits the channel’s purpose and rights.

Check YouTube eligibility before configuring OBS

YouTube’s encoder setup guidance says the channel must be verified and have no live-stream restrictions in the preceding 90 days. First-time live-stream activation may take up to 24 hours, so enable it well before the service. Review YouTube’s encoder setup and eligibility guidance.

  • Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
  • Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
  • Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
  • 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.

Plan the broadcast’s privacy setting before testing. If you need a private or unlisted rehearsal, choose that setting in the broadcast rather than assuming a test will remain private. You can manage the broadcast and its stream settings in YouTube Studio’s Live Control Room.

Prepare a simple OBS scene and verify the audio

  1. Run the setup wizard. In OBS, choose Tools → Auto-Configuration Wizard. Use its result as a starting point: it considers intended use, hardware and network conditions, but it does not replace a real test. See the OBS Project Quick Start Guide.
  2. Create a scene for the service. Add only the sources you need, such as a camera, a devotional image, Hindi prayer or service text, and the relevant audio input. Keep important text legible on a phone-sized screen and away from the edges where playback controls may obscure it.
  3. Check the Audio Mixer. Speak or play the sound you intend to broadcast and confirm the relevant meter responds. If the expected microphone or interface is missing, open Settings → Audio and select the device manually. Avoid relying on a meter alone: listen to a recording or test stream from a second device.
  4. Choose a frame rate the scene needs. For a mostly still devotional image and spoken prayer, 30 fps is a reasonable starting point to test. Use a camera’s higher frame rate only if the motion warrants it and the computer and connection can sustain it.
  5. Make a short local recording or test stream. Check framing, Hindi text, microphone level, sound-system noise and lip-sync before the real broadcast. OBS recommends testing for a few minutes rather than going straight into a first stream. Its performance depends on encoder, resolution, frame rate and scene complexity; meeting the minimum system requirements does not ensure smooth streaming. See OBS system requirements.

Connect OBS to YouTube without exposing the stream key

  1. In YouTube Studio, open Go Live and create or select the broadcast.
  2. In the Live Control Room, find the stream URL and stream key. In OBS, open Settings → Stream, choose YouTube if available, or enter the provided URL and key using the applicable connection option.
  3. Keep the stream key private. YouTube treats it like a password: do not show it in screenshots, chat or public documents. If it is exposed, reset it in the Live Control Room and replace the key in OBS.
  4. Confirm the broadcast privacy setting and make sure OBS is connected to the intended event before starting the service.

Set conservative video and audio encoder settings

Use a resolution and bitrate your church’s connection and computer can sustain reliably. YouTube’s current encoder guidance recommends H.264 over RTMP/RTMPS with CBR, a two-second keyframe interval, and a keyframe interval no longer than four seconds. These are ingest recommendations, not a promise of uninterrupted service.

Video target YouTube H.264 ingest bitrate guidance When to consider it
1080p at 30 fps 5 Mbps recommended Useful when fine camera detail or readable on-screen text benefits from the higher resolution and the connection can sustain it.
720p at 30 fps 3 Mbps recommended A sensible lower-bandwidth starting target when 1080p is not reliably sustainable.
480p at 30 fps 0.4 Mbps minimum; 4 Mbps recommended A lower-resolution option when the scene and connection call for it; the broad range reflects YouTube’s stated minimum and recommended values.

These bitrate figures are YouTube’s recommendations for encoder ingest, not required internet speed guarantees. Run an upload-speed test and leave practical headroom for normal network variation; a single test result cannot prove the connection will remain stable. Full settings are in YouTube’s encoder settings, bitrates and resolutions guidance.

Audio settings and checks

For RTMP/RTMPS, YouTube lists AAC or MP3 audio and recommends 128 Kbps stereo. For spoken prayer, intelligibility and a clean, unclipped signal matter more than a high frame rate. Test the actual microphone or mixer route with room sound, then listen from another device at a practical listening volume. YouTube also recommends checking stream audio and video quality during the broadcast in its live-streaming tips.

Start, preview and monitor the broadcast

  1. For a scheduled service, YouTube recommends setting up the encoder event at least two hours ahead and starting the encoder at least 15 minutes before the event. These are preparation recommendations, not a special requirement for a 24/7 stream.
  2. Start streaming from OBS and wait for the Live Control Room preview. Check the correct image, readable Hindi text, audio and stream-health indicators before making the broadcast public or proceeding with the service.
  3. Open the watch page on a phone or another device and confirm that sound is audible and the picture is present. Monitoring on a separate device can reveal issues that are not obvious in the OBS preview.
  4. Keep a person or process responsible for watching stream health and responding to faults. YouTube advises continuously monitoring streams for audio and video quality.

OBS has an automatic reconnect option that may help after a dropped connection, but it cannot fix power loss, a failed router, operating-system updates, a hardware fault or a muted or disconnected input. Test recovery before relying on it; neither OBS nor the cited YouTube guidance promises unattended uptime. See the OBS Studio overview.

Plan recording and archiving separately

OBS can record locally while streaming. For a local recording, OBS recommends MKV because an ungraceful stop will not corrupt the entire recording. Simultaneous recording can use additional computer resources, so test it under the same scene and stream load and ensure sufficient storage. Check that the output file is growing and that a completed recording plays correctly. Details are in the OBS Standard Recording Output Guide.

YouTube’s encoder documentation says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived. Do not assume a longer nonstop broadcast will be archived; if keeping a copy matters, record locally and verify the file. YouTube’s timing guidance is described in its encoder stream setup information.

Protect the stream from copyright interruptions

Do not assume that permission to use a song automatically prevents a live-stream interruption. YouTube says live streams are scanned for third-party content; a stream may be interrupted or terminated, and a rights owner’s allowlisting of the channel may be necessary even when the church has a license. Confirm that the church has the relevant rights and that the rights holder has allowlisted the channel where required. Read YouTube’s guidance on copyright issues with live streams.

Troubleshoot common failures

Symptom Likely cause What to check or do
YouTube does not show a preview OBS is not connected to the intended event, the URL or key is wrong, or the channel is not ready to stream. Confirm channel eligibility and activation, verify the selected YouTube event, and re-enter the current stream URL and key from the Live Control Room.
The stream stops or health deteriorates Network variation, computer load, power interruption or a dropped connection. Check stream-health indicators, test a lower resolution or bitrate, close unnecessary workloads, inspect the connection and power, and verify OBS reconnect behavior in a test.
Viewers cannot hear prayer clearly Wrong input device, muted source, excessive level or a poor connection from the church mixer. Check the selected device in Settings → Audio, confirm Audio Mixer activity, reduce clipping, and listen to the stream on another device using the actual room audio path.
Video appears but Hindi text is hard to read Text is too small, too close to the frame edge, or the output resolution is lower than expected. Preview on a phone, enlarge and reposition the text, then check that OBS’s output resolution and YouTube preview match your target.
The broadcast disconnects after music starts Third-party content may trigger YouTube’s copyright systems. Check the copyright status and permissions for the music; where applicable, ask the rights owner to allowlist the channel. See YouTube’s live-stream copyright guidance.
The local archive is missing or incomplete Local recording was not enabled, storage ran out, or the stream exceeded the documented automatic-archive duration. Enable and test OBS recording, check available storage and file growth, and play back the final file. Do not rely on YouTube automatic archiving for a broadcast longer than 12 hours.

Or let it run in the cloud

If your goal is to loop prerecorded prayer videos on YouTube rather than broadcast a live prayer gathering, StreamNeo runs uploaded videos from the cloud: upload the recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key, and go live. Nothing has to stay on at home. It streams the upload as made, up to 4K 60fps, at one price per slot; it automatically recovers if YouTube drops the stream. The first day is free with no card, one free day per account. Monthly billing is $9.99 per month. StreamNeo plays uploaded videos and streams to YouTube only; it is not a camera feed for a live service. Start your free day with StreamNeo.
